Definitions
- the invention relates to a watercraft, in particular for use by individuals with a buoyancy body, a pedal drive and a seat.
- Watercraft of the generic type serve primarily for locomotion on the water for leisure purposes. As such, they are widely known - above all under the name "pedal boats". In contrast to rowing boats, watercraft of the generic type offer the possibility of using the leg muscles' strength, which is generally much higher than that of the arm and back muscles, for locomotion on the water. In this respect, they should in principle be ergonomically cheaper than rowing and / or paddle boats, i.e. make better use of the potential performance of the human body than that. So far, however, it has not been possible to design watercraft of the generic type in such a way that they can be carried to water surfaces without further difficulties, for example in cars. The previously known generic watercraft are all only suitable for such transport to a limited extent because they are too bulky and cannot be dismantled.
- the invention is therefore based on the object of providing a watercraft with a pedal drive which, with a simple construction, offers the advantage of easy dismantling and thus the possibility of transporting it with a normal car.
- the buoyancy bodies are two hulls, preferably made of light metals or plastic, which are detachably connected to one another by means of a collapsible linkage such that their longitudinal axes are aligned approximately parallel to one another.
- the advantage achieved in this way is that the two hulls, based on the known catamaran principle, achieve a high stability of the watercraft, but the vehicle itself can be disassembled to transport dimensions that permit transport by car.
- the linkage preferably consists of four crossbeams, each starting from a fuselage and meeting in a frame head.
- this arrangement above offers the advantage of quick insertion and release of the linkage connections, which all converge at a central point, the frame head.
- the trusses from the plane described by the top of the hulls protrude upwards.
- the advantage of this pyramid-shaped arrangement is in particular that the frame head can take such a position comparatively high above the water surface.
- the frame head is therefore suitable in this arrangement for receiving a seat. Controlling and changing the direction of travel is particularly easy when the seat is located at a greater height above the water surface, so that one of the two hulls can be immersed deeper by shifting the weight. Since this increases the water resistance of this hull, control is possible by simply shifting your weight.
- connections between cross members and hulls and / or between cross members and frame head are detachable connections, in particular screw, plug or clamp connections.
- This design of the necessary connections offers the advantage of the fact that the entire watercraft can be dismantled quickly. With a suitable execution of the connections in question, a solution without special tools will be possible.
- the watercraft according to the invention can therefore be dismantled quickly and easily and carried along to or in a car to a suitable water surface.
- a saddle is preferably attached as a seat on the top of the frame head. This arrangement offers the advantage of stable attachment the seat, which is supported at the point where all forces acting on the watercraft meet.
- the frame head will generally be located approximately vertically above the center of gravity of the vehicle.
- the design of the seat as a saddle also offers the advantage of an upright and fatigue-free sitting position.

Abstract
Description
The invention relates to a watercraft, in particular for use by individuals with a buoyancy body, a pedal drive and a seat.
Watercraft of the generic type serve primarily for locomotion on the water for leisure purposes.
The invention is therefore based on the object of providing a watercraft with a pedal drive which, with a simple construction, offers the advantage of easy dismantling and thus the possibility of transporting it with a normal car.
This object is achieved in that the buoyancy bodies are two hulls, preferably made of light metals or plastic, which are detachably connected to one another by means of a collapsible linkage such that their longitudinal axes are aligned approximately parallel to one another. The advantage achieved in this way is that the two hulls, based on the known catamaran principle, achieve a high stability of the watercraft, but the vehicle itself can be disassembled to transport dimensions that permit transport by car.
In a further development of the invention it is provided that the linkage preferably consists of four crossbeams, each starting from a fuselage and meeting in a frame head. In addition to a simple construction, this arrangement above all offers the advantage of quick insertion and release of the linkage connections, which all converge at a central point, the frame head.
In a further development of the invention it is further proposed that the trusses from the plane described by the top of the hulls protrude upwards.
The advantage of this pyramid-shaped arrangement is in particular that the frame head can take such a position comparatively high above the water surface. The frame head is therefore suitable in this arrangement for receiving a seat. Controlling and changing the direction of travel is particularly easy when the seat is located at a greater height above the water surface, so that one of the two hulls can be immersed deeper by shifting the weight. Since this increases the water resistance of this hull, control is possible by simply shifting your weight.
In a further development of the invention, it is also preferred that the connections between cross members and hulls and / or between cross members and frame head are detachable connections, in particular screw, plug or clamp connections. This design of the necessary connections offers the advantage of the fact that the entire watercraft can be dismantled quickly. With a suitable execution of the connections in question, a solution without special tools will be possible. The watercraft according to the invention can therefore be dismantled quickly and easily and carried along to or in a car to a suitable water surface.
A saddle is preferably attached as a seat on the top of the frame head. This arrangement offers the advantage of stable attachment the seat, which is supported at the point where all forces acting on the watercraft meet. In addition, due to its central location due to its construction, the frame head will generally be located approximately vertically above the center of gravity of the vehicle. The design of the seat as a saddle also offers the advantage of an upright and fatigue-free sitting position.
In a further development of the invention it is provided that the saddle has a handle on its front.
It allows the person sitting on the saddle to take a subjectively and objectively stable sitting position.
It is particularly preferred to attach a fork to the underside of the frame head, the two fork arms of which are penetrated at their lower ends by an axle, on the end of which pedals are fastened by means of crank rods and that between the fork arms are approximately centrally on the axle and rigidly connected to it Paddle wheel is attached.
The advantage associated with this arrangement is the simple and uncomplicated construction of the drive mechanism, which is directly connected to the pedals. It may be that a paddle wheel is less efficient than a screw drive. However, this disadvantage is offset by the advantage of the simpler structure.
In a further embodiment of the invention it is also proposed that the paddle wheel consists of an approximately circular disk which is fixedly connected to the axle and penetrated by the axle in the center, and which is firmly connected to the disk in such a way that it is radial from its center point outwards.
To improve maneuverability, a rudder blade is placed between the hulls soaking in the water. Its pivoting takes place and is determined by a handlebar or knob that can be reached by the user sitting on the saddle, the pivoting or twisting of which changes the position of the rudder blade. The handle can also be used for control. The movement is transferred to the rudder blade in any way, e.g. through a cable, a linkage, a shaft.
In the concrete structural implementation, it is also preferred that the two hulls are directly connected to one another by further cross members.
The advantage achieved with this arrangement is an increased stability of the entire watercraft against twists that could occur, for example, with a slight wave.

As can also be seen from FIG. 2, this frame head (4) is provided with a saddle (5). A handle (6) is in turn attached to this saddle (5). As in the embodiment shown in the drawing in FIG. 2 is still recognizable, the fork (7) is located below the frame head (4). This is penetrated at its lower ends by an axis (8) to which the pedals and the paddle wheel drive are attached.
The details result from the exemplary embodiment shown in FIG. 3. It can be seen here that the fork (7) is penetrated by the axle (8) at the lower ends of the fork arms, to which the pedals (10) are fastened by means of crank rods (9). The paddle wheel (11) in turn sits on this axis (8). This in turn - as can be seen in the exemplary embodiment shown in the drawing - consists of a disc (12) on which the airfoils (13) are arranged.
