Description

Modul mit Tuftingwerkzeusen  Module with tufting tools
Beschreibung description
The invention relates to a module with tufting tools, in particular needles, in which the tufting tools are cast into a base body, the length of which corresponds to a multiple of the center distance of the cast-in tufting tools, which has a contact bar and recesses on its rear side, which can be connected to a bar, and on its front side is provided with a receiving shoulder and projections and has an elongated hole running in the longitudinal direction of the module and going from the back to the front. Such a module for a tufting machine is known from DE-PS 2 828 278. The modules can be screwed onto a needle bar. Each base body has on its rear side facing the needle bar two conical recesses which are spaced apart in the longitudinal direction of the module. Correspondingly, two projections which are also spaced apart are provided on the front of the base body. The Ausnenmungen and the projections are so aimed that the projections of one module can engage in the recesses of another, if the two modules joined together are offset by a half needle assembly.
With the known module it is therefore possible to create two rows of needles by forming two corresponding module rows, in which case the needles of one row are offset by half a division from those of the other.
When tufting, a large number of separate divisions of the tufting tools are used. This leads to the Known module that a base body must be made separately for each division, in which the projections of the front are to be arranged offset relative to the recesses on the back according to the desired division.
The object of the present invention is now to avoid this disadvantage of the known module. In particular, the aim is to reduce the number of required differently designed basic bodies without sacrificing the precision of the modules to be joined together.
This object is achieved according to the invention in a module of the type mentioned at the outset in that the depressions on the back are formed by the interspaces of a recessed row of teeth, the teeth of which are arranged identically and equidistantly from one another and have straight tooth flanks, in that the projections on the front side a protruding toothed rack is formed, the teeth and the spaces between the toothed rack being matched to the intermediate spaces or the teeth of the row of teeth.
The recessed row of teeth allows the back of the module to be easily drawn onto a bar, eg a needle bar. The teeth of the rack on the front of one module can be easily inserted into the spaces between the teeth of another module. This leads to self-aligning in the longitudinal direction. It is possible to offset the connection between two modules engaging in this manner by one or more teeth. As a result, the position of the tufting tools in adjacent rows can be changed in two or more stages. The module according to the invention can also be designed so that the center distance of the tufting tools is n times the aostasis between the teeth, n being a whole The module according to the invention can also be designed so that the spaces between the row of teeth are offset from the teeth of the toothed rack, this offset 1 / n of the center distance between the tufting tools and n being an integer> 1.
The module according to the invention can also be designed such that the pitch of the toothed rack and the tooth row is 5/64, 1/20 or 1/16 inch.
So it is e.g. possible to form the row of teeth and the toothed rack of the base body with a pitch of 5/64-inch. The shape required for this base body can then be used without any changes to accommodate tufting tools with a 5/64 or 5/32 or 5/16 pitch. When pouring the tufting tools, they are only to be placed according to the prescribed division in the shape of the base body. As a result, the required shapes for producing the base body are greatly reduced.
The module according to the invention can also be designed such that the row of teeth of the contact strip and the toothed strip are adjacent to the receiving shoulder.
The system bar and the mounting shoulder serve to simplify the alignment of the modules on the bar or on the adjacent row of modules. Finally, the module according to the invention can be designed such that the tooth flanks of each tooth form an angle of 35 to 50 with one another. Experiments have shown that, particularly in this angular range of the teeth, there is an optimal interlocking and thus alignment, the compressive force occurring being transmitted from the flank of one tooth to that of the adjacent tooth. De-molding is possible without difficulty. In the following part of the description, an embodiment of the module according to the invention is described in connection with needles as tufting tools. 1 shows a view of the front of a module designed according to the invention,

The module shown in the figures has a base body 1, into which the pistons of tufting needles 2 arranged in parallel and equidistantly are cast. The base body 1 has a rear side 3 and a front side 4 running parallel thereto. The rear side 3 and front side 4 run parallel to one another. From the rear 2, a system bar 5 projects. This angling bar 5 is adjacent to a row of teeth 6 sunk in the rear side 3.
A receiving shoulder 7 is provided on the front 4 at the level of the contact bar 5. This is one from the Front 4 protruding rack 8 adjacent.
An elongated hole 9 is also provided in the base body, which extends through the base body 1 and has its longer axis in the longitudinal direction of the module. The diameter of the elongated hole 9 widens from the front 4 in the direction of the back 3 for demolding reasons. The recessed row of teeth 6 has aquidistant teeth 10 with straight flanks. The profile of the tooth 10 corresponds to the profile of the spaces 11 between the teeth 10. The toothed strip 6 on the front 4 has teeth 12 and spaces 13 which correspond in their profile to that of the row of teeth 6. In the exemplary embodiment shown, each tooth 12 of the toothed rack 8 lies opposite an intermediate space 11 of the tooth row 6. The teeth 12 of the toothed rack 8 can consequently be inserted into the spaces 11 of the tooth row b of a further module of the same design, the front side 4 then on the Back 3 comes to rest. Two modules joined together in this way can be joined together in a plurality of positions which are mutually locked in the longitudinal direction of the module.
Figures 5-8 show two modules joined together in this way. In this position, the contact strip 5 of the one module lies on the shoulder 7 of the other module, while the toothed strip 8 of the one engages in the toothed portion 6 of the other. If the modules placed in this way are offset relative to one another in the longitudinal direction of the module, then the elongated holes 9 are not flush with one another, but each elongated hole projects above the other in the longitudinal direction. Both Langiocher the aufei nanderges modules leave a common passage through which a screw, not shown, can be passed to fix the modules on the bar. The module can be used to form a row of needles, by putting two rows of modules together to form two rows of needles, and also to form three or more rows of needles. Only the length of the elongated holes 9 is to be selected in accordance with the maximum offset of the two modules lying one on top of the other.
