Abstract

A mortice lock for doors or the like is equipped with a latch bolt which is under the effect of a latch spring (6) and which, with a door leaf opened, can be detained in an only partially extended intermediate position, projecting beyond the lock face plate (3) with only its run-on slope (4') located on the end face, by means of a blocking element (10''') which can be disengaged as a result of the impact on the striking plate of a release (10) projecting on the face plate and arranged in the region of the blocking surface (4<v>) of the latch bolt (4) and which thereby causes the latch bolt (4) to pass into its fully extended position. To provide a mortice lock of the abovementioned generic type which, whilst having an even simpler design of the blocking-element and release mechanism, possesses an arrangement of the release (10) and of the blocking element (10''') safe against unintended actuation, with the door open, and in which, at the same time, it also remains guaranteed that the release (10) frees the latch bolt for its fully extended movement only after the closed position of the door has reliably been reached, the release (10) is pivotably mounted in a protected manner in the latch bolt and is equipped with a blocking nose (10''') which at the same time forms the blocking element.

Description

The invention relates to a mortise lock for doors or the like. With a latch bolt which acts under the action of a latch spring and which, when the door leaf is open, can be locked by a locking element in an intermediate position which is only partially extended and only protrudes with its front bevel protruding above the lock cuff. which can be disengaged by striking a striker on the side of the striking plate, which is arranged in the area of the locking surface of the latch bolt and thereby allows the latch bolt to reach its full extended position.

A mortise lock of the above type is known from US-PS 39 12 309. It has in common with conventional mortise mortise locks that its latch bolt in the door open position only protrudes from the lock face plate with its front run-up bevel, but offers the latter the advantage that the latch bolt in the door closing position automatically moves deeper into the striking plate on the door frame side, thereby already through this deep closing engagement a greater security against the door being opened. Also, the latch bolt in its fully extended locking position, in which its run-up slope completely disappears in the striking plate, cannot be caused by unauthorized insertion of a sufficiently solid object. such as a flexible plate, screwdriver or check card, are moved back into the door gap between the door lock and the striking plate, as is easily possible with simple latch locks. In the known latchbolt mortise lock, the locking element which allows the latchbolt to be locked in its partially extended intermediate position is designed as a spring-loaded pawl loosely mounted in a recess in the latchbolt, while the trigger is designed as an axially parallel to the latter release slide which is adjustable on the blocking surface side of the latchbolt , which is provided with an inclined ramp surface locking recess for the pawl engaging therein in the door open position. When the latch bolt snaps into the striking plate opening, the trigger slide is held back by the striking plate, causing the pawl to slide up on the inclined surface of the locking recess of the trigger slide, thereby releasing the latch bolt for its full extension movement. The two-part design of the locking element and release slide is structurally complex. In addition, the position of the trigger slide on the latch bolt that is accessible from the front has the disadvantage that the trigger slide can easily be actuated on the face side and thus be adjusted when the door is open, as a result of which the latch bolt can unintentionally move out into its full extended position. This can result in considerable damage if the door is slammed shut carelessly. In addition, the malfunction described above prevents such a lock from being used in fire doors, for example. The same disadvantages also have other, similar to the DE-OS 32 41 273 known latch bolt mortise locks, in which the locking element allowing the latch bolt to be locked in its partially extended intermediate position and its trigger are stored below the latch bolt in the lock case, the trigger is formed as a protruding auxiliary latch between the latch bolt and an additional key-operated latch bolt. A further disadvantage here is that the latch bolt has already been released for its full extension movement by the trigger and the locking element is when the trigger has been pressed in by the striking plate, but the latch bolt has not yet been inserted into the striking plate perforation, for example when the door leaf is not yet fully pressed into the closing position. If the door were then pushed open again, the latch bolt would again be in its fully extended position when the door was open.

The invention has for its object to provide a mortise with latch bolt of the type mentioned, which does not have the aforementioned shortcomings, but with an even simpler structure of the locking elements and trigger mechanism, a more protected against unwanted operation with open door arrangement of the trigger and Has locking element and in which, as with the generic mortise lock, it is also ensured that the trigger only releases the latch bolt for its full extension movement after the closed position of the door has been reliably reached.

This object is achieved according to the invention in a generic mortise lock in that the trigger is pivotally mounted in a protected manner in the latch bolt and is provided with a locking lug which also forms the locking element.

In this way, the standardization of the locking element and trigger not only leads to a significant structural simplification of the lock, but it is also ensured by the protected pivotable accommodation of the trigger and the locking lug in the latch bolt itself that the trigger nose with the release surface is only slightly removed from the locking surface The release lever protruding from the latch bolt head is practically neither visible nor can it be operated unintentionally in the door open position, especially if it is - as is usually the case - folding doors, where the trigger nose between the projecting door rebate and the semi-protruding latch bolt in itself for mere finger actuation is practically inaccessible. Otherwise it remains ensured that the The trigger and the locking lug on it release the latch bolt for its full extension movement only when the free end of the latch bolt is already snapped into the striking plate opening, so that the latch bolt can actually extend fully into its locking position.

The trigger is advantageously designed as a double-armed trigger lever, which is pivotally mounted in a horizontally continuous recess of the latch bolt head about an axis running transversely thereto, and which has at its front end located at the level of the run-up slope one that projects beyond the locking surface of the latch bolt head with the associated inner wall side of the Strike plate entry opening cooperating release lug and at a short distance behind it has the locking lug engaging behind the lock face plate, while at the rear end of the release lever, laterally offset from its pivot axis, the latch spring which seeks to press both the latch bolt in the extended position and the release lever in the locked position attacks. This results in an extremely simple lock design, especially since the latch spring also serves as a return spring for the release lever.

According to a further feature of the invention, the latch bolt can be partially or completely retracted by conventional lever actuation, for which purpose a swivel plate to be actuated by the former, which is operated by a return spring and the latch bolt, is provided, which with one in all positions of the latch bolt on it Shaft engaging driving nose is provided.

In addition to its partially and fully extendable latch bolt, the new latch bolt mortise lock can advantageously be provided with an additional, key-operated bolt bolt, whereby according to a further feature of the invention, the bolt bolt is articulated with the bolt bolt trying to push it into the extended position and has a corresponding spring action is which is to be locked in the retracted position of the lock bolt by a locking slide engaging its other lever arm end, the latter being disengaged by the latch bolt released, which extends further from its intermediate position, thereby releasing the lock bolt for its extension movement. In this way, the lock bolt can be automatically transferred into its locking position when the latch bolt extends further, as a result of which the security of operation and unlocking of such a mortise lock is correspondingly increased. The lock bolt extends reliably even if you press the handle with the door closed without opening the door.

It is advisable to mount the locking slide below the latch bolt and to the side next to the upper arm of the bolt control lever, and to provide it with a laterally protruding locking arm that cooperates with a locking pin provided on the bolt control lever, as well as against it with a spring engaging spring to press the underside of the latch bolt, on which there is a control cam which projects downwards and which, when the latch bolt is released and moves into the fully extended position, moves the locking slide to its lower release position, in which its locking lug releases the locking bolt on the bolt control lever for unlocking it.

For the key-operated retraction of the lock bolt, the swivel plate is provided with a driving pin which rests on the correspondingly contoured circumference of the upper arm of the bolt control lever, by means of which the swivel plate can first be pivoted into a circumference which enables the latch bolt to be partially retracted into its intermediate position. The further swivel adjustment of the swivel plate necessary for the complete retraction of the latch bolt can then be carried out by a slider acting on it and acted upon by the locking mechanism of the lock, which returns to its starting position after the key has been removed and then releases the latch bolt again for its partially extended intermediate position.

In order to be able to return the extended lock bolt to its retracted position simply by actuating the handle, as is desired with panic locks, a control cam that can be swiveled into the orbit of the follower arm can be provided on the upper arm of the bolt control lever, so that the bolt control lever brings the lock bolt into its retracted position Locking position is pivoted.

a section along the line IV-IV of Figure 3.

The mortise lock shown is provided with a lock case base 1, a lock cover 2 and a lock face plate 3, which is provided with corresponding through openings for the latch bolt 4 and the additionally present lock bolt 5.

The latch bolt 4 is under the action of the latch spring 6, which tries to push it into the extended position. The latch bolt 4 can be extended by the partial stroke h into the intermediate position shown in FIG. 1, corresponding to the door open position, in which it merely protrudes from the lock face plate 3 with its run-up slope 4 '. But it can also in accordance with Figure 3 with the door completely closed reach the full extended position, i.e. protrude by the full stroke H from the lock face plate 3, in which its run-up slope 4 'completely disappears in the entry opening 7' of the striking plate 7 struck on the frame, and between the striking plate 7 and the lock face plate 3 it is already bolt-shaped profiled head 4 '' is located so that the latch bolt cannot be pushed back into the door gap 7 '' by otherwise possible unauthorized insertion of a sufficiently rigid elastic object.

Er besteht zweckmäßig aus einem im wesentlichen omegaförmig geformten Stanz-Biegeteil mit kunststoffumspritztem Kopf 4''.The latch bolt 4 is guided with its shaft 4 '' 'on the built-in in the lock case, at the same time the abutment for the latch spring 6 installation 8 horizontally displaceable. It expediently consists of an essentially omega-shaped stamped and bent part with a molded plastic head 4 ''.

In a horizontally continuous recess 9 of the latch bolt head 4 ″, the double-armed trigger lever 10 is pivotally mounted about an axis running transversely thereto. For this purpose, axle pins 10 'are provided on the release lever 10 on its upper and lower sides, which are mounted in bearing eyes 4 IV provided on the latch bolt. The release lever 10 has at its front, at the level of the run-up slope 4 'end of the latch bolt 4 a little above the locking surface 4 V protruding nose 10'', which cooperates with the associated inner wall side of the striking plate entry opening 6'. A short distance behind the trigger nose 10 ″ is on the release lever 10 the locking nose 10 ″ ″, which engages behind the lock cuff 3 in the intermediate position of the latch bolt 4 shown in FIGS. 1 and 2 and thereby for the corresponding locking of the latch bolt therein position taken by him in the door opening position. At the opposite end of the release lever 10, the pin 10 IV is arranged offset to the pivot axis 10 'by the dimension v, around which the latch spring 6 engages the release lever 10. As a result, the spring 6 tries to press both the latch bolt 4 in the extended position and the trigger lever 10 into the locking position shown in FIG. Furthermore is on Release lever 10, which is preferably made of injection-molded plastic, also has a stop lug 10 V which, in the fully extended position of the latch bolt 4 shown in FIG. 4, abuts the inside of the lock cuff 3 in a noise-damping manner.

To actuate the latch bolt 4 as well as the latch bolt 3 if necessary, the follower nut 11 provided with a corresponding lever insertion opening 11 'is pivotally mounted in the lock case housing. It is under the action of the return spring 12, which strives to pivot the trigger nut 11 with its actuating arm 11 ″ against the tubular stop pin 13.

Between the latch bolt 4 and the follower 11, the swivel plate 14 is arranged, which is mounted on a hollow chip guard sleeve 15 which connects the lock case cover and the lock case bottom to one another. This swivel disk 14 has a driver nose 14 'which, in all positions of the latch bolt 4, bears against its driver cam 4 VI located on the underside of the shaft 4'''. The latch bolt 4 can be retracted into its retracted position allowing the door to be opened by pushing the lever latch 11 ″ and the swivel disk 14 by actuating the lever handle both from its fully extended position according to FIG. 3 and from its intermediate position according to FIG.

In order to also automatically bring the lock bolt 5 into its extended locking position when the latch bolt 4 is fully extended, the lock bolt is used to push the bolt into the extended position and, under the corresponding effect of a leg spring 16, a double-armed bolt control lever 17 is connected via the sliding joint 18. The bolt control lever 17 is designed as a double-armed lever which is movable about the lock 19-fixed axis 19. The leg spring 16 is wound around the axle bolt 19, which is supported at one end on the hollow bolt 13 and at the other end on a bolt 17 'seated on the bolt control lever 17. The bolt control lever is on the sliding joint 18 opposite arm with a locking bolt 17 ''. In the intermediate extension position of the latch bolt 4 shown in FIG. 1, this is gripped by the locking lug 20 ″ seated on the laterally protruding locking arm 20 ′ of a locking slide 20. The locking slide 20 is guided vertically displaceably by way of guide holes 21, 22 which penetrate the elongated holes 20 '''and which are fixedly arranged in the lock case housing, a spring 23, which is supported on the guide pin 22 and which provides the locking slide 20 against the underside of the latch bolt head 4''. tries to press. On the latter there is a control cam 4 VII which , when the latch bolt 4 is released by the release lever 10 and thus moves into its full extended position, moves the control slide 20 downwards, whereby its locking lug 20 '' lifts off the bolt 17 '' of the bolt control lever 17 and thereby Bolt control lever 17 unlocked so that it can pivot under the action of the spring 16 and thereby bring the lock bolt 5 into its extended position.

The swivel plate 14 is also provided with a driving pin 14 '', which rests on the correspondingly contoured circumference of the upper arm of the bolt control lever 17 and via which the swivel plate 14 when the key bolt 5 is retracted into a partially retracting the latch bolt 4 from its fully extended position in its intermediate position allows the extent to be pivoted. In order to also be able to bring the latch bolt 4 into its full retracted position from the locking mechanism, a slider 24 which can be acted upon by the latter is also provided, which can engage the swivel disk 14 and pivot it in full as when the trigger was actuated.

In order to be able to swivel the bolt control lever 17 into its locking position, which brings the lock bolt 5 into the retracted position, by simply actuating the lever, a correspondingly contoured control cam 17 '''is provided on the upper arm of the bolt control lever 17 to be pivoted into the orbit of the follower arm 11''. As can be seen directly in FIG. 3, this means that Lever actuation of the bolt control lever 17 is pivoted accordingly, thereby bringing the lock bolt 5 and the latch bolt 4 back into its retracted position.

It is understood that the lock bolt 5 is secured in its extended position by a conventional tumbler, not shown. This tumbler can be lifted by the bolt control lever 17 during its initial trigger actuation movement, which initially performs a corresponding idle stroke with respect to the lock bolt 5.

Various changes are possible within the scope of the present invention. In principle, there is also the possibility of equipping the mortise lock with a conventional lock bolt 5 which can only be pre-locked and hollowed out via the locking cylinder to be inserted into the mortise opening 25. Furthermore, the lock bolt 5 can also be designed and controlled so that it has a particularly large extension stroke as in the case of DE-OS 38 25 457.
