  • the method of fitting the tires described above is characterized in that the directions indicated by the arrows under the "WET” and "DRY" are determined such that when the four tires are fitted to an automobile, imaginary lines extending respectively from the sub-grooves of the left- and right-hand side tires confronting each other in the widthwise direction of the automobile when viewed from thereabove intersect each other on the front side of the vehicle for the dry road running, while imaginary lines extending respectively from the sub-grooves of the left- and right-hand side tires intersect each other on the rear side of the automobile for the wet road running.

This is because in a case where the sub-grooves and the cords of the outer belt layer 4 are declined in the same direction, the cords assist the sub-grooves 2 with rigidity and also serve to enhance the rigidity of the sub-grooves 2, improving the edge effect of the sub-grooves 2 to the road surface when running.

Claims (1)

  1. Verfahren zum Aufziehen von Luftreifen, bei welchem beim Aufziehen auf der linken und rechten Seite eines Kraftfahrzeugs Reifen mit einem Profil, das Blöcke umfaßt, die von einer Mehrzahl von ringförmigen geraden Rillen, welche innerhalb einer den Boden berührenden Breite einer Lauffläche des Reifens ausgebildet sind, wobei sie sich über einen gesamten Umfang des Reifens erstrecken, sowie von einer Mehrzahl von in der Breitenrichtung des Reifens verlaufenden und die besagten geraden Rillen kreuzenden Nebenrillen 2 begrenzt werden, welche unter einer gleichen Neigung bezüglich der Reifenumfangsrichtung angeordnet sind, derart aufgezogen werden, daß sich gedachte Linien, die sich jeweils aus den besagten Nebenrillen der einander in der Breitenrichtung des besagten Kraftfahrzeugs gegenüberliegenden linken und rechten Reifen erstrecken, bei Betrachtung von oberhalb desselben auf der Vorderseite des besagten Kraftfahrzeugs kreuzen, dadurch gekennzeichnet, daß die besagten Reifen derart aufgezogen werden, daß sich die besagten gedachten Linien für eine Fahrt auf nasser Straße auf der Rückseite des Kraftfahrzeugs kreuzen.
