Definitions
- the invention relates to an alarm clock with a manually operated and thereby a switching contact closing and opening rocker for producing and canceling their wake-up readiness, the rocker being rotatably mounted in the housing of the alarm clock and having an actuating surface which, when the wake-up readiness is canceled, forms part of the contour of the housing forms, while it partially protrudes from the contour of the housing when ready to wake up.
- Such an alarm clock is known from DE-U 78 27 708.
- the rocker used to switch the wake-up readiness on and off runs over the entire width of the top of the housing of the alarm clock.
- a cover that closes the housing on its rear side is flush at its upper edge with the top of the rocker when the rocker is in its switch-off position.
- the axis of rotation of the rocker runs parallel to the front edge of the housing of the alarm clock and approximately half the width of the rocker and thus divides it into two sections.
- rocker extends across the entire top of the housing of the alarm clock in its width, it is often for an operator, unless special means characterizing the position of the rocker, such as the arrow formed here on the front of the rocker, are present It is very difficult to tell whether the wake-up readiness has been established or canceled.
- Such an alarm clock has the disadvantage that with a medium swivel angle and medium length extension of the rocker in its direction perpendicular to the axis, it protrudes only relatively little from the contour of the upper side of the housing when the alarm is ready. Therefore - although in darkness the operating state of the alarm clock can still be clearly recognized by scanning - the user may "read” the operating state incorrectly when viewing the alarm clock. Conversely, it is also disadvantageous that the rocker - in order to achieve its noticeable protrusion beyond the contour of the upper side of the housing at a relatively small swivel angle - must have a relatively large length in its direction which is essentially perpendicular to its axis.
- the object of the invention is therefore to provide an alarm clock in which it is particularly easy and quick to recognize both during the day and at night whether the alarm clock is ready for wake up or canceled and in which the rocker is neither one in the direction perpendicular to its axis have particularly large trained actuating surface, must still be pivoted through a particularly large angle.
- a main feature of the invention - namely that the axis, about which the rocker is rotatable, lies outside the contour of the housing - can be realized particularly easily.
- the fact that the guide rail is formed only by individual webs also results in a saving in material.
- due to the few bearing points of the respective guide surface on the webs there is also a smooth and well-centered guidance of the rocker.
- the contour of the housing can be disturbed even more clearly by pivoting the rocker at the same pivoting angle and the same length of the rocker as if the lateral outer surface of the housing is flat.
- a closed contour is created by the circular segment-shaped design of the wall section and the corresponding recess of the cover at the transition from the wall section of the rocker to the rear face of the alarm clock.
- the rocker is mounted directly in the housing of the alarm clock without any additional components.
- all the storage and locking devices can be molded onto the parts made of plastic.
- the storage and locking devices are aligned so that the rocker as the last component can be inserted radially from the outside into the recess of the alarm clock formed by the housing and cover.
- the support wall forms a stop limiting the swivel angle of the rocker on both sides.
- the alarm clock 1 consists of an essentially cylindrical housing 2, on the front end face 3 of which a disk 5 is attached to an edge 4 forming a circle. Behind the disk 5, a dial 6 is also fixed in the edge 4, on which protruding pointers 7, 8, 9 and 10 between the disk 5 and the dial 6, the common pointer axis of which is provided with the reference symbol 23.
- the pointers 7, 8, 9, 10 are connected on different shafts, not shown in the drawing, to a clockwork, also not shown, arranged in the housing 2 behind the dial 6.
- the pointer 7 represents the minute hand, the pointer 8 the hour hand, the hand 9 the second hand, while the hand 10 serves to set the alarm time.
- the housing 2 is closed from behind by a cover 14.
- the lid 14 is not shown in the drawing provided locking elements clipped to the housing 2.
- a parting line 15 is formed, which runs horizontally in the upper area of the alarm clock 1 on the cylindrical outer surface 16 and in the lower area shown in FIG. 3.
- actuators 11, 12 are formed on the rear end face 13 of the cover 14 in the form of rotary knobs which are inserted into bores 49 formed on the cover 14 and which have shafts with the clockwork for setting the movement, not shown in the drawing Pointers 7, 8, 9, 10 are connected.
- the rotary knob 11 is used to set the alarm pointer 10, while the rotary knob 12 is used to set the hands 7, 8 and possibly 9.
- the horizontally extending joint 15 in the lower region of the housing 2 is followed by a cylinder 17 which also runs horizontally and perpendicularly to the cylinder of the housing 2 and serves to hold a battery supplying the clockwork with electrical energy.
- the cylinder 17 consists of two longitudinal shells in the longitudinal direction of the cylinder 17, of which the half shell closer to the housing 2 forms a part with the housing 2 and of which the other half shell forms a cover part that serves to replace the battery. 3, the cylinder 17 has on its underside a flattened portion 18 which runs parallel to the longitudinal axis 52 of the cylinder 17 and which serves as a storage surface for the alarm clock.
- a web 19 runs on the center line 26 (FIG. 2) and on the cylindrical outer surface 16 of the housing 2 up to the height of the disk 5, the surface of which, according to FIGS. 1 and 3, points downwards as a further storage surface 20 the alarm clock 1 is used.
- the shelf 20 forms a plane with the flat 18 and gives due to the flat 18 and the storage surface 20 formed T-shaped surface of the alarm clock 1 a secure stand.
- a recess 24 with a rectangular cross section is provided on the top of the alarm clock 1, which is formed both by the cover 14 and by the housing 2.
- the rocker 21 is located in the recess 24, the cylindrical outer surface 22 of which represents the actuating surface of the rocker 21.
- the lateral surface 22 of the rocker 21 runs concentrically to the pointer axis 23 and forms a cylindrical surface with the lateral surface 16 of the housing 2, the axis of which also coincides with the pointer axis 23.
- the rocker 21 forms a component which is essentially rectangular in cross section with a rounded transition 50 between the lateral surface 22 and the wall section 25.
- the rounded transition 50 also corresponds to the edge region of the cover 14, so that the transition 50 with the wall section 25 also closes the recess 24 in the cover 14 (FIG. 7), as a result of which the cover 14 appears as a closed, cylindrical component.
- an annular surface 27 corrugated in the longitudinal direction of the center line 26 is formed on the actuating surface 22 to the right of the center line 26, which is intended to indicate to an operator that at this point the pressure point for actuating the rocker 21 is in the wake-up position.
- an area of the actuating surface 22 which is to the left of the center line 26 in FIG. 2 must then be tapped.
- the circular surface 27 serves only as an orientation aid for an operator.
- the wake-ready position of the rocker 21 can also be reached by pressing on any other surface will; it only has to lie to the right of the center line 26 on the actuating surface 22.
- two eyelet-shaped attachments 29 are formed on the inner surface 28 opposite the actuating surface 22 at the level of the center line 26, which, when the rocker 21 is inserted into the recess 24, in the on the rear wall 37 of the housing 2 and on the Cover 14 molded hooks 30, 31 engage and engage behind them so that a radial removal of the rocker 21 from the opening 24 is no longer possible.
- 4 and 8 at the end opposite the wall section 25 on both sides of the center line 32 on the rocker 21, circular segment-shaped wall sections 33, 34 are attached, which run parallel to the wall section 25.
- Their cylindrical outer surface sections 35 formed on the outer edge serve as a guide surface for the rocker 21.
- the center of the cylindrical outer surface sections lies outside the alarm clock 1 on the vertical center line 26 at point 48.
- cylindrical webs 36 protrude from the rear wall 37 of the housing, which are arranged on the rear wall 37 in such a way that they lie on the same radius, the center of which is also at point 48.
- the lateral surface sections 35 of the wall sections 33, 34 are supported on the webs 36 and thus give the rocker 21 a stable mounting around the point 48 lying outside the housing 2.
- the knob 42 engages in the recess 40, the position of the rocker 21 shown in FIGS. 3 and 8 is indicated, ie the alarm clock 1 is not ready to be woken up. If the knob 42 engages in the recess 43, the position of the rocker 21 shown in FIG. 1 is indicated, and the alarm clock 1 is ready to be woken up.
- an actuating pin 51 is formed between the wall section 33 and the eyelet-shaped attachment 29 on the inner surface 28 of the rocker 21, which also runs parallel to the wall section 25 and, as can be seen from FIG. 8, is widely in the housing 2 of the alarm clock 1 protrudes.
- the free end of the actuating pin 51 namely engages in an electrical switch (not shown) arranged in the watch case and separates its electrical contacts from one another when the rocker 21 is in the non-wake-up position shown in FIGS. 3 and 8.
- the recess 24 formed in the cover 14 is adjoined by a support wall 41 which is somewhat recessed in relation to the rear end face 13 and whose outer edge 44, 45 forms the stop for the rocker 21. If the rocker 21 is mounted in the housing 2 of the alarm clock 1, the outer edge 44 strikes the inner surface 28 of the rocker 21 in the non-wake-up position, while the outer edge 45 runs at a distance from the inner surface 28. In this position, the outer edge 44 and the inner surface 28 therefore run concentrically to one another, while this does not apply to the outer edge 45 with respect to the inner surface 28. In the wake-up standby situation it is just the other way round.
- the outer surface 45 does not have its center point in 23, but to the right of the center line 26, ie the outer edge 45 runs deeper in the recess 24 than the outer edge 44 1 the section of the rocker lying to the right of the center line 26 can be pivoted into the recess 24 until the inner surface 28 strikes the outer edge 45, but this cannot be seen from the figures. 1, a part 46 of the rocker 21 radially protrudes from the contour 16 of the housing 2 to the left of the center line 26, while a recess 47 is formed in the housing 2 to the right of the center line 26.
- the cylindrical surface apart from the parting line 15 is otherwise a smooth ring surface.
- An operator of the alarm clock 21 immediately recognizes both by daylight and in the dark (by scanning) that the alarm clock 1 is not ready to wake up, since the Surface or contour 16 at the transition from rocker 21 to housing 2 is not interrupted. If an operator now presses on the annular surface 27 according to FIG. 2, the rocker 21 rotates clockwise around its guide surface 35 (FIG. 8) until its inner surface 28 strikes the outer edge 45 of the support wall, i. that is, until it has reached the wake-up ready position shown in FIG. 1.
Abstract
Description
The invention relates to an alarm clock with a manually operated and thereby a switching contact closing and opening rocker for producing and canceling their wake-up readiness, the rocker being rotatably mounted in the housing of the alarm clock and having an actuating surface which, when the wake-up readiness is canceled, forms part of the contour of the housing forms, while it partially protrudes from the contour of the housing when ready to wake up.
Such an alarm clock is known from DE-U 78 27 708. The rocker used to switch the wake-up readiness on and off runs over the entire width of the top of the housing of the alarm clock. A cover that closes the housing on its rear side is flush at its upper edge with the top of the rocker when the rocker is in its switch-off position. The axis of rotation of the rocker runs parallel to the front edge of the housing of the alarm clock and approximately half the width of the rocker and thus divides it into two sections. When the rocker is brought into its ready-to-wake position, the section of the rocker facing the front edge of the alarm clock moves downward, rotating around the axis of rotation of the rocker, while the section of the rocker facing the cover is moved upward.
Because the rocker extends across the entire top of the housing of the alarm clock in its width, it is often for an operator, unless special means characterizing the position of the rocker, such as the arrow formed here on the front of the rocker, are present It is very difficult to tell whether the wake-up readiness has been established or canceled.
From "Deutsche Uhrmacher Zeitschrift" 1968, issue 7,
Such an alarm clock has the disadvantage that with a medium swivel angle and medium length extension of the rocker in its direction perpendicular to the axis, it protrudes only relatively little from the contour of the upper side of the housing when the alarm is ready. Therefore - although in darkness the operating state of the alarm clock can still be clearly recognized by scanning - the user may "read" the operating state incorrectly when viewing the alarm clock. Conversely, it is also disadvantageous that the rocker - in order to achieve its noticeable protrusion beyond the contour of the upper side of the housing at a relatively small swivel angle - must have a relatively large length in its direction which is essentially perpendicular to its axis. It is also disadvantageous that if the rocker has only a relatively small length in its direction essentially perpendicular to its axis, comparatively large swivel angles are necessary in order to achieve a clear protrusion of the rocker. In the first case, the aesthetic impression of the housing top of the alarm clock is impaired, while in the second case the operator has to carry out manipulations on the rocker during the transition from the alarm clock which is ready to wake up to the alarm not ready or vice versa, which can be cumbersome.
The object of the invention is therefore to provide an alarm clock in which it is particularly easy and quick to recognize both during the day and at night whether the alarm clock is ready for wake up or canceled and in which the rocker is neither one in the direction perpendicular to its axis have particularly large trained actuating surface, must still be pivoted through a particularly large angle.
This object is achieved in that the axis, about which the rocker is rotatable, lies outside the contour of the housing and runs parallel to the pointer axis. As a result, when the rocker is pivoted into the ready-to-wake position with a relatively small length extension of the rocker in its direction perpendicular to the axis and with a likewise comparatively small pivot angle, a large and thus clearly recognizable section of the rocker is nevertheless moved out of the contour of the housing.
If one develops the alarm clock according to
If one develops the alarm clock according to
Finally, if the alarm clock is further developed according to claim 4, the rocker is mounted directly in the housing of the alarm clock without any additional components. This is also possible, inter alia, in that all the storage and locking devices can be molded onto the parts made of plastic. The storage and locking devices are aligned so that the rocker as the last component can be inserted radially from the outside into the recess of the alarm clock formed by the housing and cover. At the same time, the support wall forms a stop limiting the swivel angle of the rocker on both sides.

According to FIGS. 7 and 9, the
As can be clearly seen from FIG. 7, the
The operation of the alarm clock according to the invention is as follows:
Ein Benutzer erkennt also durch die erheblich in ihrer ansonst glatten Kontur gestörten Oberfläche sofort die Weckbereitschaft der Weckeruhr 1.In the non-wake-up state of the alarm clock 1, the cylindrical surface apart from the
