Definitions
- the invention relates to a protective switch device, for a circuit subject to short-circuit currents, in which the natural development of the arc appearing at the opening of a pair of contacts placed in a chamber and occurring moving along a deflector conductor is assisted and accelerated by a magnetic induction developed by at least one conductive loop of these currents which is placed outside the chamber in a plane substantially parallel to that which passes through this deflector and through these contacts.
- a protective switch device of a type similar to that described in patent EP-231,600, in which the conductive loop is formed by a first end portion connected to the fixed contact, extended by a tab constituting the deflector conductor and connected by a loop portion of a second end portion which is placed in alignment with the tongue and which is intended to directly or indirectly join a connection terminal of the device receiving the device.
- These devices which are mainly intended to equip overcurrent protection devices, use the device of an assistance in blowing the arc thanks to an induction which is established on its path in order to accelerate its swelling and to hasten its destabilization. Thanks to this device, we can build limiting devices of reduced size which the need arises for both industrial and domestic installations where the technical cost becomes one of the main criteria of choice.
- the invention therefore proposes to provide a switch device as defined above, in which the shape of the current loop can meet the following requirements: simplicity, ease of assembly, reduced overall width and reduced cost Manufacturing.
- a switching device 1 in which the invention can be advantageously implemented can be incorporated, see FIG. 1, into an insulating prismatic box 2 inside which there is one (or two) breaking chambers such as 3; we can, for example, imagine a device more complete by establishing symmetry with respect to the axis of movement XX ′ of a movable contact bridge 4.
- This contact bridge then carries pads 5, 6 cooperating with fixed contact pads 7, 8 and is here subjected to the action of a contact pressure spring 9 which can be compressed or released by the movement of an external pusher 10 acting on a lateral guiding and holding means 11 of the contact bridge.
- the fixed contact 8 is soldered to an end portion 12 of a conductive copper part 13 having a folded portion 14, an ascending branch 15a, 15, a descending branch 16 and a second end portion 17 which is offset and folded down to receive a connection terminal 18; an extension 19 of the portion 12 constituting a deflector extends in the chamber in the direction of the terminal and joins a region 20 opposite to the contacts in which there may be means capable of destabilizing an electric arc, such as a narrow slot, fractionation fins, etc.
- a magnetizable flat part 21 is arranged under the deflector 19.
- a second conductive deflection piece 22 which would also extend in a symmetrical chamber not shown, allows the current of an arc such as 23 to flow between the terminal 18 and an opposite symmetrical terminal 24 by supplying a second arc 25 symmetrical to the first , the circuit of which passes through a symmetrical deflector 19 ′.
- the different segments 14, 15, 16, 17 constitute a conductive loop 30 capable of creating, in the area crossed by the arc between the fixed contact and the region 20, an induction of direction perpendicular to the figure.
- a rough blank metal blank 26 having a longitudinal portion 28, 28a, 28b, such as that visible in FIG. 4, can advantageously be used to produce a conductive part having a single loop, when it is subjected to deformations in its plan which are intended to reveal the various elements 19, 12, 14, 17; 15, 15a, 16, 16a in the appropriate places.
- a blank 27 of the part, visible in FIG. 5, will be used when the latter must include two loops 30c, 30b, such as those visible in FIG. 3, where it can be seen that one can dispense with operating the separations - S - and - T -.
- the loops 30 are formed by folding down, for example at a right angle towards a folding plane parallel to the plane PP ′ of the margins (not projecting) of the blank, then stretching / arching of these margins in the drawdown plane.
- the conductive part which has been illustrated shows, see FIG. 1, the fact that the rising branch or branches 15a are connected to the portion 12 by a portion 14 being placed at a level lower than that of the plane SS ′ where is fixed the fixed contact pad 6.
- This branch 15 is, moreover, placed so that the pair of contacts 5, 8 is located between the branches 15a and 16.
- the arc moves while keeping its feet on two opposite deflectors 19, 19 ′ which can be put in place on either side of a contact bridge 4 with double break.
- the conductive part With its loop (s) and its contact and terminal regions, represents an inseparable whole, it is not possible to incorporate it directly into a housing of any shape since a part will be inside and another part outside of it.
- FIGS. 9 to 11 it is therefore necessarily necessary to define a housing 50 capable of allowing the implementation of this conductive assistance part, in particular when the latter has two loops.
- This which is shown in Figures 11, 12, 13 to which reference will be made, in order to illustrate a housing with two symmetrical breaking chambers, uses two insulating shells 52, 53 substantially symmetrical with respect to a joint plane median WW ′ where, after mounting, the median plane PP ′ of the conductive part will be located and to a base 54 intended mainly to locally seal the cavity which is between the two shells in order to constitute the two symmetrical breaking chambers of a switch having a contact bridge.
- This base mainly comprises an axial guide channel 55 intended to receive a mobile contact bridge support such as that designated at 10 in FIG. 1 and a certain number of clearances 56, 57 and 58, 59 which are intended to receive the portions end such as 14 and 17 in order to immobilize them.
- This first installation of the conductive part can here be done by exploiting if necessary the elasticity of the latter parallel to the plane PP ′.
- the clearances such as 58, 59 which are made in a central rib 60 of the base having a width less than that of the external face 61, extend to this face while leaving on either side of the median plane two parallel arms 62, 63 contributing to the maintenance of a terminal such as 18.
- the shells 52, 53 each have on an internal wall of the chamber such as 64, on the one hand, clearances or grooves 65, 66 and 67 for securing the opposite edges of the individual deflectors such as 19 and respectively those of the common deflector such that 22 and, on the other hand, a boss such as 68 serving to receive the end of the return spring of the contact bridge such as 9.
- an external wall 69 opposite to the wall 64 of a shell there are open corridors or footprints of shallow depth such as 71, 72 which are shaped to receive the external parts of the loops such as 30 c , 30 b and which circulate by following between a region 73 adjacent to the portion 14, and a region 74 adjacent to the portion 17 of the conductive part.
- Lateral clearances such as 75 and 76, which are located opposite the clearances such as 56, 57, allow passage of the ends of the external ascending branches of the loops, up to the internal volume of the cavity present between the shells.
- the shells of the set-up is done in direction F simultaneously discarding the loops 30a, 30b of the conductive member and thereafter folding them in the corridors 71, 72; the latter, which do not have a depth much greater than the thickness of the current loops, can simultaneously maintain the various elements constituting the housing or contribute to it.
