Definitions
- the invention relates to a diffuser for the low pressure part of a steam turbine.
- Circular diffusers of this type are arranged downstream of the last working stage of the steam turbine in order to ensure the uniform removal of the relaxed steam.
- the function of the diffusers can be improved by providing a gap for aspirating or blowing in a liquid medium, but this is associated with various problems.
- suction gaps there is a complicated removal of the extracted steam into zones of low pressure and the desired mode of operation is only possible within a relatively narrow range of the amount of steam to be extracted.
- the energy consumption required to extract the steam is disadvantageous.
- the provision of blowing gaps leads to a complicated supply of steam and losses due to the energy required for blowing.
- the invention has for its object to provide an improved circular diffuser for steam turbines that allows effective evacuation of relaxed exhaust steam and possibly condensate in a wide working range of the turbine with virtually no energy consumption with a simple structure.
- the diffuser formed from a ring of the last stator, its guide vanes, an outer and an inner jacket contains an annular collecting chamber in the ring of the last stator above the guide vanes with gaps, which chamber is connected to a peripheral collecting chamber via channels.
- the peripheral collecting chamber is formed between the front and the rear part of the outer shell of the annular diffuser and is on the one hand over a vertical gap with an intermediate wheel space between the guide and the rotor blades, on the other hand by means of between the inner surface of the rear part of the outer shell of the annular diffuser and the upper edge of the front part of the outer jacket of the annular diffuser provided with the free space of the expanded part of the diffuser in connection.
- the diffuser according to the invention ensures that the condensate is sufficiently removed through the gaps in the hollow guide vanes and through the vertical gap from the space between the guide vanes and the rotor blades of the last stage.
- the condensate is entrained by a steam component and, in addition to a noticeable reduction in blade erosion, this steam component is advantageously blown tangentially into the expanded part of the diffuser through the blowing gap.
- Such tangential blowing reduces the area of flow separation on the outer wall of the diffuser and at the same time increases the output of the steam turbine.
- a preferred embodiment of the diffuser according to the invention is explained in more detail below with reference to the schematic drawing, which shows a longitudinal section of the last stage of a steam turbine and the downstream diffuser.
- the illustrated annular diffuser with blowing is provided by a ring 2 of the last stator wheel mounted in a body 01 of the LP part of the steam turbine, the guide vanes 1 fixed with their outer ends in the ring 2, an outer jacket 11 fastened to the end face of the ring 2 and from one formed the front part of a guide element 13 forming the outer jacket.
- a vertical gap 8 is provided between a fastening flange 31 on the guide element 13 of the outer casing and the end face of the ring 2.
- the outer jacket 11 is attached directly to the end face of the body 01 by means of an annular flange 30.
- An annular collecting chamber 7 is provided in the end part 11 of the outer jacket and the outer surface of the guide element 13.
- This annular chamber 5 is arranged in the ring 2 above the guide vanes 1, in each of which a long radial gap 3 is formed on the belly and several shorter gaps 4 on the back.
- a larger condensate droplet-bearing vapor fraction impinges on the guide vanes 1 and drives the droplets into the rear column 4 of the guide vanes 1 and into the front radial gap 3.
- Another steam fraction flows through the vane grille into the intermediate wheel space 14 and drives the rotor blade 9, whereupon it flows through the diffuser delimited by the inner jacket 15 and the inner surfaces of the guide element 13 of the outer jacket.
- Condensate droplets flow on the outer wall 12 of the action channel formed by the intermediate space 14 and are driven together with a proportion of steam through the gap 8 and into the collecting chamber 7.
- this steam water mixture mixes with the steam water mixture which flows via the gaps or grooves 3 and 4 on the two side surfaces of the guide vanes 1 into the annular chamber 5 and from there via the channels 6 into the collecting chamber 7.
- the pressure of the steam continuously supplied through the gap 8 and the channels 6 displaces the steam from the collecting chamber 7 through the blow gap 10 into the outer peripheral region of the diffuser.

Abstract
