Abstract

In order to provide a wear-resistance surface coating for the rollers of roller mills, especially high pressure roller mills for material bed comminution of granular material, which surface coating is simple in terms of production technology and despite profiling and therefore good drawing-in capacity also has a high standing time capacity, according to the invention a roller surface coating is proposed in which at least the outermost layer consists of transverse welding beads which are welded on one next to the other horizontally along roller generating lines without spacing from one another or only with a small spacing from one another.

Description

The invention relates to a wear-resistant surface armor for the rollers of roller machines, in particular high-pressure roller presses for pressure comminution of granular material.

In the case of roller crushers and roller mills, brittle ground material is drawn into the roller gap and subjected to pressure reduction there. Also known is the so-called material bed comminution in the nip of a high-pressure roller press, in which the individual particles of the ground material drawn in by friction into the nip are crushed in a material bed, ie in a bed of material compressed between the two roller surfaces when an extremely high pressure is applied (EP -PS 0 084 383). It is understood that the roller surfaces are subjected to extremely high stress and wear. It is therefore known to armor the roller surface by welding weld layers of hard metallic materials onto the roller base body, or by using the roller base body one-piece or multi-piece wear-resistant jacket made of cast or rolled material. If the roller armor is welded on, it has so far been built up by welding adjacent ring layers or by an endless spiral welding.

In order to improve the material intake capacity of the press rolls, which have to pull the material by friction into the nip and compress it, it is known to coat the armored roll shell on its cylindrical surface in an additional manufacturing step with a protruding profile in the shape of e.g. B. V-shaped welding beads. However, it has been shown that the roll surface wears relatively quickly due to the formation of trough-shaped washouts in the areas between the profiled welding beads welded on at a distance from one another.

The invention has for its object to provide for the rollers of roller machines, in particular high-pressure roller presses, a technically simple, wear-resistant armor which, despite the profiling and therefore good retraction capacity, also has a long service life.

This object is achieved according to the invention with the measures of the characterizing part of claim 1.

It is characteristic of the roller armor according to the invention that when the armor is built up, at least the outermost armored welding layer is no longer welded on by annularly adjacent welding beads or by an endless welding spiral bead, but by welding beads lying transversely thereto is produced, which are arranged horizontally next to each other along the roll surface lines. The cross-weld beads of the roll armor according to the invention can be welded on without a distance from one another or at a distance of less than about 40 mm from one another, so that the spaces between the cross-weld beads used as roll profiling, which are unfavorable for roll wear, are practically eliminated. Even with cross-weld beads welded on without spacing, the natural rounding of the weld beads in the cross-roll direction results in roll profiling which considerably improves the good pull-in capacity compared to smooth rolls and which at the same time has a long service life. When building the roller armor according to the invention, the last or outermost welded-on armored layer, as proposed according to the invention, consists of the cross-weld beads arranged horizontally next to one another along the roller surface lines, so these make the additional manufacturing step of welding z. B. V-shaped roll profiles unnecessary. It is no problem to weld these single-layer or multi-layer cross-weld beads onto the inner layers of the roller armor, even if the inner layers consist of single-layer or multi-layer radially welded ring layers or spiral welds.

The outermost roll armor layer produced in a welding layer or in a plurality of welding layers lying one above the other by cross-welding beads can have a thickness of up to approximately 4 mm. There is also the possibility of making the roll armor produced by the cross-welding beads protruding higher at several points distributed over the roll circumference than at the other roll circumference points. There is also the possibility of welding horizontally lying cross-weld beads and to produce a net-shaped roll profile with annular mesh beads lying transversely to it with a net mesh width which is preferably less than approximately 40 mm.

The material of the cross weld beads can consist of a metallic alloy using special carbide and nitride formers. Such a material is e.g. B. described in German patent application P 39 26 232.4. In the surface armor according to the invention, the armor layers, or at least the cross-weld beads which form the last or outermost weld layer, are welded on by submerged arc filler welding. When filling filler welding, the alloy components are in powder form in a z. B. filled from pure iron flat hollow band and the actual alloy itself only occurs during the welding process. The filler metal overlay welding achieves an even distribution of the armor material alloy and an even weld bead build-up.
