Abstract

In an electromagnetic stirrer (1) for stirring the molten crater (3), the stirrer (1) is to be improved in such a way that an additional treatment of the cooling water for cooling the stirrer is no longer necessary. It is proposed to dip the stirring coils (4) in the stirrer housing (7) into a first, essentially stationary liquid (8).
