Description

The invention relates to a method for producing a grinding or the like tool coated with extremely hard abrasive grains, in particular one for fine gear machining, and a grinding or the like tool obtainable therewith. This tool can have the shape of a disc of any cross-section, a gear, a rack or a worm. At this point it should be expressly pointed out that the terms "grinding" and "grinding tool" used here and below are to be understood in the broadest sense, i.e. that in particular also "honing", "hard cockroaches", "scraping", "honing" and "dressing" including the tools used for this are to be understood. This also applies analogously to the term "extremely hard abrasive grains", which should be understood to mean diamond, CBN, tungsten carbide and the like grains as used in abrasive, i.e. no tools with uniformly directed cutting edges are known.

Stand der TechnikState of the art

Das Überschleifen der Zahnflanken ist enorm zeitaufwendig und die dafür verwendeten, mit Diamantkörnern beschichteten Werkzeuge sind sehr teuer in der Anwendung.DE 33 36 593 C1 discloses a tool coated with CBN grains for finishing the tooth flanks of workpiece gears, in which the tooth flanks are ground. Grinding the tooth flanks is extremely time-consuming and the tools used for this, coated with diamond grains, are very expensive to use.

A shows a method for producing a grinding wheel profiled in the axial direction, which has a ceramic base body covered with a mixture of a plastic and diamond grains. A mold block is required to profile the base body, with which the base body is profiled before covering; if using a steel body, an additional grinding wheel would be required for profiling. The plastic / diamond grain mixture is applied in the form of a tape on the outside of the base body after its pores have been closed.

Aufgabetask

The invention has for its object to develop a method with which tools of the type mentioned can be manufactured more cost-effectively than before, or to develop a tool of the type mentioned at the outset so that it can be manufactured more cost-effectively.

According to claim 1, the solution to the problem is primarily that the extremely hard abrasive grains are absorbed by the pores of a ceramic base body and held there by means of an adhesive. Claim 2 relates to a grinding tool obtainable by this method.

A very important advantage of the method according to the invention and the tool thus obtainable is that the basic body made of ceramic, regardless of its shape, can be prepared very precisely with a simple, inexpensive grinding tool; Subsequent processing of the extremely hard abrasive grains as in the tool known from DE 33 36 593 C1 is not necessary.

Beschreibungdescription

A plate-shaped grinding wheel 1 (FIG. 1) made of ceramic material is covered with extremely hard abrasive grains 3 at least on one end face 2 thereof. For this purpose, the end face 2 to be covered is coated with an adhesive 4 and the abrasive grains 3 are applied immediately thereafter. This can be done by sprinkling or by applying with a brush. Before the adhesive 4 begins to harden, the abrasive grains 3 are pressed against the grinding wheel. The abrasive grains 3 slide into the pores 5 of the ceramic material 6 (FIG. 2), into which the adhesive 4 has already “sucked in”. The grinding grains 3 can be pressed in with a correspondingly shaped pressing tool, not shown, but also by brushing in with a simple tool, for example a spatula, in an extreme case even with the finger. Dan adhesive 4 is then allowed to harden in accordance with the manufacturer's instructions. In the case of an epoxy-based adhesive, this can be, for example, 2 hours at about 150 ° C.

In order to be able to work with it, the grinding wheel according to Fig. 1 is briefly pulled off in the area of its outer contour, e.g. with a single-grain diamond dresser. Each time you pull it off, new abrasive grains are exposed on the occupied end face 2, which then function as "cutting".

A grinding wheel 1 coated with diamond grains as described above can be used both for grinding gear-like tools coated with CBN grains in accordance with DE-OS 33 36 593 and for grinding hardened workpiece gears in particular. A grinding wheel coated with CBN grains is usually used to grind hardened workpiece gears.

A gear-shaped tool 7 (FIG. 3) can be coated in the same way on its tooth flanks with extremely hard abrasive grains. To do this, it only needs to be precisely aligned and ground beforehand. To press in the abrasive grains 3, the tool 7 is unrolled with a master wheel 8, since the abrasive grains 3 then only protrude very little and evenly from the previously ground tooth flanks.

Finally, a grinding wheel 10 with a circular cross-section (cylindrical, conical, spherical, etc.), which is effective on its peripheral surface 12, as shown in FIG. 4, can be coated with extremely hard abrasive grains in basically the same way. To do this, it is precisely aligned and subtracted beforehand. To press in the abrasive grains 3, the grinding wheel 10 is allowed to roll on a correspondingly shaped counter surface or such a counter surface is guided along the rolling grinding wheel. If the grinding wheel 10 is also to be covered on one or both end faces 11, the same procedure can be followed as described above in connection with the plate-shaped grinding wheel 1.
