Description

The invention relates to a socket for a lamp for fluorescent lamps with the features of the preamble of claim 1.

Such a version is known from DE-U-77 05 741. However, this previously known version is not suitable for luminaires which are designed for increased protective conditions and in which the fluorescent lamp is located in a protective tube. Luminaires that are designed for increased protection conditions have protective tubes that are gripped at the ends by screw rings that are screwed tightly and tightly to the sockets and that accommodate seals at their free ends and carry seals that are in contact with the protective tube. Such luminaires have proven themselves, but their assembly is difficult: The fluorescent lamps have pairs of contact pins at the ends, which are inserted laterally into the voltage-carrying sockets, whereupon the lamp must be rotated by 90 ° so that the contact pins get into the contact-making position of the socket and further the lamp is prevented from sliding out of the socket by itself. A certain amount of force is required for this rotary movement and also for the lateral insertion, this presupposes that the lamp can also be properly gripped manually. However, the protective tube prevents this manual access. So far, it has been used to make the protective tube about 20 to 25 mm shorter than the lamp itself, so that when mounting at least on one side of the lamp so much space is left between the protective tube and the socket, so with two fingers the lamp can be gripped, held and rotated by hand. So that the light is appropriately sealed with these short protective tubes, the screw ring must now be so long that it can grip the protective tube end reliably and tightly. As a result, the screw ring extends exactly over that area of the lamp in which the electrodes of the lamp are arranged and in which generates the most heat during operation. This axially long screw ring not only hinders the light but also the heat radiation, for which reason metallic sleeves have been used here in known designs to promote heat dissipation, but this is a technically unsatisfactory solution.

In order to counter this problem, a holding element in the form of a ring has already been proposed according to DE-A-37 40 701, which is transversely penetrated by holes in an end wall. This ring has a collar, the outer diameter of which corresponds approximately to the inner diameter of the protective tube. The size and the mutual spacing of the bores in the end wall correspond to the diameter and the mutual spacing of the contact pins on the end face of a fluorescent lamp. To assemble the lamp, the lamp is first inserted into the protective tube, then the holding element is plugged onto the protective tube, contact pins of the lamp projecting through the bores mentioned in the holding element. The holding element is secured against rotation with respect to the protective tube. The lamp is now located in the center of the protective tube and via the positive connection of the contact pins of the lamp and the protective tube via the holding element mentioned, a rotary movement exerted on the protective tube is transmitted directly to the lamp, so that such a lamp received by a protective tube is mounted in a conventional manner even if the protective tube is as long as the lamp.

Based on the prior art shown, the invention has set itself the task of solving the problem discussed above to make the version itself so constructive that the lamp can be rotated into the contacting position with it, so that additional components, with which protective tube and lamp can be positively connected, can be saved. The invention proposes to solve this problem those measures, the content and subject of the characterizing part of the claim 1 are.

To illustrate the invention, it is based on an exemplary embodiment les explained in more detail. 1 shows the mount in plan view and FIG. 2 shows in longitudinal section along the line II-II in FIG. 1; 3 and 4, the view of a lamp end during two different stages of lamp assembly.

Ein zentraler, mit der Grundplatte 2 einstückig ausgebildeter Halter 10 dient als Drehlager und als axiale Fixierung für den Drehstern 11, der hier einstückig ausgebildet ist mit der Deckelscheibe 12, die die Stirnseite des Kragens 9 abschließt und überdeckt, wobei diese Deckelscheibe 12 zur seitlichen Einführung der Kontaktstifte 17 der Lampe 13 einen radial verlaufenden Schlitz 14 besitzt.1 and 2 illustrate the sockets attached to the end of a lamp beam 1 in view and in section, it being noted that the voltage-carrying and contacting slats and conductors provided in the version itself are not shown here for the sake of clarity, since they are the Do not touch invention as such. The socket has a base plate 2 with an annular collar 3, which here carries a thread 4 on its outside. This base plate 2 is connected to a laterally projecting arm 5, through which the wires arranged in the light bar 1 are guided into the actual socket. In relation to the axis of symmetry S - S of the socket, the collar 3 has two cutouts 6 lying diametrically opposite one another, which extend approximately over an angular range of 90 °. Between these two cutouts 6 and on the side facing away from the arm 5, a slot 7 is also arranged here in the collar 3. Within the collar 3 and also integrally formed with the base plate 2, a collar 9 is provided with a recess in an annular space 8 and within this collar 9 are the live contact elements and contact blades, which are not shown here for reasons of clarity. A central holder 10, which is formed in one piece with the base plate 2, serves as a rotary bearing and as an axial fixation for the rotary star 11, which is formed here in one piece with the cover plate 12, which closes and covers the end face of the collar 9, this cover plate 12 for lateral insertion the contact pins 17 of the lamp 13 has a radially extending slot 14.

The outer diameter of this cover disk 12, which is formed in one piece with the rotary star 11, is now chosen so large that it lies between the outside diameter of the collar 9 and the inside diameter of the collar 3, 12 recesses 15 being provided in pairs on this edge of the cover disk. Instead of such recesses 15 or in connection with such, the edge of the cover plate 12 can be corrugated. If the cover plate 12 is in the angular position shown in FIG. 1, in which the lamp 13 can be inserted into or removed from the socket, these recesses 15 lie within the area of the cutouts 6 of the collar 3. Arm 5, Base plate 2, collar 9, collar 3 and central holder 10 are made in one piece from a suitable, electrically insulating and heat-resistant plastic material. The one-piece design of rotary star 11 and cover plate 12 can be seen in particular in FIG. 2.

Diese innere Stirnseite des Schraubringes 18 kann absatzartig abgesetzt sein, um einen nach außen abgeschlossenen Aufnahmeraum für eine solche Dichtung zu erhalten.3 and 4 now show how a lamp 13 surrounded by a protective tube 16 is inserted into a luminaire with these sockets. The lamp 13 is initially inside the protective tube 16 on its lower side (FIG. 3), the two end-side contact pins 17 lying one above the other. Lamp 13 and protective tube 16 are essentially the same length. The screw rings 18 with their seals 19 are placed on the protective tube 16 and pushed so far against one another (FIG. 3) that their outer edge zones lie behind the end face of the protective tube 16 or the lamp 13. From below, the protective tube 16 with the internal lamp 13 is now guided against the lamp (arrow A in FIG. 3) and the contact pins 17 lying one above the other through the slot 7 in the collar 3 and the slot 14 of the cover plate 12 up to the middle of the socket introduced. With the index finger and thumb, the edge of the cover plate 12 can now be grasped and the cover plate 12 together with the rotary star 11 and the lamp 13 can be rotated by 90 °, so that the lamp 13 or its contact pins 17 reach the contacting position in the rotary star and snap the cover plate into place. The recesses 15 serve to make it easier to grasp the edge. Now the screw rings 18 located on the protective tube 16 are pushed against the sockets (arrow B in FIG. 4) and screwed to the external thread 4 of the collar 3. The ring seal 19 received by the screw ring 18 bears against the protective tube 16. If not shown here, it is within the scope of the invention to provide an annular seal even in the area in which the threads of the collar 3 and the screw ring 18 interlock. Such a seal can lie, for example, on the outer ring zone 20 of the base plate 2 and the inner end face of the screw ring 18. This inner end face of the screw ring 18 can be offset in a step-like manner in order to obtain a receiving space which is closed off from the outside for such a seal.

In order to avoid a gap between the front edge of the collar 9 and the cover surface 12, through which a sheet-shaped metal part could possibly be introduced to the live contact elements within the collar 9, the edge of the cover plate 12 is advantageously flanged. this flanging protrudes into the annular space 8 between collar 9 and collar 3.

In the exemplary embodiment shown, the cutouts 6 in the collar 3 extend over its entire height. If the depth of the socket is large - for whatever reason - these cutouts 6 can also only extend over part of the height of the collar 3, since this is about (see FIG. 3), between the base plate 2 of the socket and the To create an access space on the end face of the protective tube, via which and through which the edge of the cover plate can be grasped with the fingertips in order to turn the cover plate together with the rotary star.

Thanks to the invention, it is possible to make the protective tube 16 as long as the lamp and still use only relatively short screw rings 18, so that the heat generated in the electrode area of the lamp can be radiated almost unhindered. The light generated by the lamp can also be emitted virtually unhindered over its entire length. 4, from which it can be seen that the sealing ring 19 of the screw ring 18 is practically in the base region of the lamp 13.
