Um im laufenden Betrieb die Kolbenhubzahl pro Zeiteinheit verändern zu können, können statt der Räderpaare Schaltgetriebe vorgesehen werden. Diese Schaltgetriebe werden von Hand oder über Magnete betätigt. Angetrieben werden Mischgaspumpen über Synchron- oder Spaltpolmotoren . - die Dosierleistung ist nicht veränderbar.
