Abstract

A device is described for the storage and delivery of coins, which has at least one magazine insert (27) in the form of a ring rotatably mounted about a vertical axis and containing a plurality of radially extending compartments (34) distributed uniformly in circumferential direction and each intended for receiving a coin, a bottom (25) arranged fixedly under the magazine insert and having orifices (45, 46) for the delivery of coins received in the magazine insert, and an input device for the controllable input of coins into the magazine insert. The input device forms a coin guide track (8) extending vertically laterally of the magazine insert and having controllable coin deflection elements for the lateral introduction of a coin into a compartment of the magazine insert. For delivering the coins there are slots extending radially in the bottom each intended for the passage of a coin, in such a way that the delivery of coins takes place only as result of an appropriate rotation of the magazine insert. For the delivery of coins through the different slots, the magazine insert is preferably rotatable in opposite directions. Advantageously, two magazine inserts are arranged next to one another and assigned to the same coin guide track. <IMAGE>

Description

The invention relates to a device according to the preamble of claim 1.

From EP 0 278 216 A1 an automatic machine with a device for accepting coins and giving back change is known, which contains an intermediate storage magazine as a prepayment for the inserted coins and beneath it a plurality of appropriately designed storage magazines in vertical overlap. The storage magazines are formed from a fixed cassette and a magazine insert that can be rotated therein. Each magazine insert has the shape of a ring with a vertical axis, which contains a plurality of radially arranged chambers separated from one another by vertical walls. There is a recess in the bottom of each cassette, the width of which is two Corresponds to chambers. The recesses of all cassettes coincide in the vertical direction and in this way form a vertical coin guideway.

Bolts that can be moved in the radial direction can completely close the cutouts or only close their right or left halves. When the magazine inserts are rotated, chambers filled with a coin or else empty chambers can be guided along the associated recess. Depending on the position of the individual bars serving as coin deflection elements, coins can be transported from the prepayment to a selected storage magazine or from the prepayment or a storage magazine to a money return tray or a cash register.

This known device is complex, however, since each bolt has to occupy three different positions and cover relatively large distances between these positions. These displacements require a separate motor for each bolt, which drives a rack connected to the bolt via a pinion on its shaft. For this reason, the device also works relatively slowly. Another disadvantage of the function of this device is that coins can only be fed in when all the magazine inserts have come to a standstill, ie feeds can only take place when the previous sorting process or the like has ended.

Beneath each coin stacking tube there is a rotatable, horizontally arranged perforated disc with at least two holes, each of which can accept a horizontal coin from the coin stacking tube when the perforated disc rotates. The perforated disc and a cover plate arranged below it are designed so that the coins received in the holes alternately fall into the two separate cash registers as the perforated disc continues to rotate.

From DE 27 52 313 A1 a self-cashier or money changer is also known, the coin magazine for each coin type having a ring rotatably mounted about a horizontal axis with radial compartments evenly distributed over the circumference of the ring. Each compartment is used to hold a coin. An input channel opens above the compartments and below the compartments there are the inputs of an overflow channel and a return channel next to each other, their width roughly corresponding to that of a compartment. To insert a coin into a compartment, this is positioned under the input channel; and to dispense a coin from a compartment, the coin is passed through either the overflow or return channel so that the coin can fall into the corresponding channel. Depending on the direction of rotation of the compartment ring, the compartment first arrives via the overflow or return channel. Each magazine of this self-cashier is provided with its own input, overflow and return channel.

Starting from EP 0 278 216 A1, it is therefore the object of the present invention to provide the known device for storing and dispensing coins with at least one magazine insert in the form of a ring which is rotatably mounted about a vertical axis and which has a plurality of radially extending, uniformly circumferential directions contains distributed compartments for receiving one coin each, with a base fixed under the magazine insert with at least one opening for the dispensing of coins received in the magazine insert, with a vertical coin guideway with controllable coin deflection elements, and with an input device for the controllable entry of coins into the magazine insert, to improve in such a way that it is not only simpler, but can also work faster and more safely.

This object is achieved by the features specified in the characterizing part of claim 1. Advantageous developments of the device according to the invention result from the subclaims.

Characterized in that the input device has a coin guideway running vertically to the side of the magazine insert with controllable coin deflection elements for the lateral insertion of a coin into a compartment of the magazine insert, and in that at least one radially extending slot for the passage of a coin is provided in the bottom for dispensing the coins, that the issue of coins can only be carried out by appropriate rotation of the magazine insert, only the magazine insert needs when entering a coin to stand still, which receives this coin, and for the dispensing of coins no latches need to be operated, but it is sufficient that the magazine insert from which a coin is to be dispensed is rotated in a suitable manner. Coins that are not supposed to be accepted are guided past the magazine inserts and do not have to go through them.

In the bottom below a magazine insert, two slots are preferably provided with a mutual spacing corresponding to a compartment division, and the magazine insert can be rotated in opposite directions through the two slots to dispense coins. Here, one slot is advantageously connected to the cash dispenser tray and the other slot to an end cash register.

The coin deflection elements are preferably sliders that can be moved horizontally into the coin guideway in the axial direction of the coins; Since the sliders only have to assume two positions and the displacement between these positions only corresponds approximately to the thickness of a coin, they can each be moved into the coin path by an electromagnet against the force of a spring. The shift is thus carried out very quickly and reliably in a simple manner.

The slides can have a flat impact surface and can each be inclined downwards towards the associated magazine insert, so that a coin stopped by them can roll into the facing compartment of the magazine insert by itself.
It is to mitigate the impact of the coins advantageous to store the slider damped in the direction of movement of the coins. This prevents the coins from jumping back.

To increase the storage capacity, two magazine inserts can be arranged next to one another and assigned to the same coin guideway. In order to save space, it is expedient to move the slider assigned to these two magazine inserts into the coin path from opposite directions.

Each magazine insert is preferably rotatably arranged in a housing consisting of a cover and the bottom, which has a slot-shaped opening on the outer circumference facing the coin guideway. The magazine formed in this way can therefore also be removed from the device and transported in the filled state without coins falling out.

Finally, each magazine insert is advantageously assigned a controllable reversible motor, a motor-driven disk on one side carrying at least two pins arranged in a circle around its axis of rotation, which engage in a toothed ring on the circumference of the magazine insert, such that the disk rotates at a constant speed the speed of the rotary movement of the magazine insert has a sinusoidal course by one fan division each. As a result, you always get revolving motor with each rotation of the magazine insert by a compartment division a brief standstill during which coins can be fed or dispensed unhindered. The motor therefore does not need to be operated step by step, which increases the rotational speed of the magazine insert considerably.

An inserted coin, after passing through the coin validator 5, enters an input coin runway 8. If the coin validator 5 has recognized that for some reason the coin should not be stored, it falls through the coin runway 8 and goes directly into a cash dispenser tray 9.

The coin store consists of twelve magazines 10 to 21 designed in the same way, six of which are arranged one above the other and two each side by side. If the coin validator 5 recognizes that a coin is to be stored in one of the magazines 10 to 21, a corresponding deflecting element in the coin guideway 8 is activated and the coin is thereby guided into the selected magazine.

Each of the magazines 10 to 21 has two different outlets for the dispensing of the stored coins. The one type of outlets of all magazines forms two output coin guideways 22 which, like the input coin guideway 8, open into the cash dispenser tray 9. It is thus possible to return change or the money just inserted via these coin guideways 22. The other type of outlets for everyone Magazine forms two issue coin guideways 23 which lead to an end cash register 24. The terminal 24 receives coins when the storage capacity of the magazines for a specific type of coin is exhausted or when one or more magazines are emptied.

Fig. 3 zeigt das Magazin 13 im geöffneten Zustand und vom Magazin 19 nur das Bodenteil.2 and 3 show two adjacent magazines 10 to 21 of the same design, for example magazines 13 and 19. Only the magazine 13 is shown in section in FIG. 2, since the magazine 19 is constructed accordingly. Fig. 3 shows the magazine 13 in the open state and only the bottom part of the magazine 19.

Each magazine essentially consists of a base part 25, a cover 26 and a magazine insert 27. The base part 25 and cover 26 form a closed housing which contains openings only to the coin guideways 8, 22 and 23. The magazines can thus be removed and transported even when filled, without the risk of losing coins. A connecting bolt 28 holds the base part 25 and the cover 26 together in the correct position. A separation of bottom part 25 and cover 26 is only possible if a locking washer 29 has been removed beforehand. However, this is only possible by destroying the locking washer 29, so that an unauthorized opening of the magazine can be noticed immediately.

The magazine insert 27 consists of an inner ring 30, a toothed ring Outer ring 31, a bearing sleeve 32 connected to inner ring 30 and a plurality of vertical lamellae 33 which extend at equal mutual distances radially between inner ring 30 and outer ring 31. Only four such lamellae 33 are shown in FIG. 3; however, they are evenly distributed over the entire circumference between inner ring 30 and outer ring 31. The slats 33 form between them compartments 34, each of which is suitable for receiving a coin 35.

Magazineinsatzes 27.The magazine insert 27 is rotatably mounted about the concentric connecting bolt 28. The rotary movement is effected by a reversible motor 36, on the output shaft of which a disk 37 is attached. The disk 37 carries on the side facing away from the motor 36 two pins 38 arranged on a straight line through the axis of rotation and at the same distance from it. The pins 38 engage in the outer ring 31, which has the toothed shape shown in FIG. 5. The teeth of the outer ring 31 and the pins 38 are matched to one another in such a way that the speed of the outer ring 31 at a constant rotational speed of the disk 37 has the shape of sinus half-waves, ie has defined downtimes. During these downtimes, coins can be inserted and dispensed without the risk of jamming. A position detector 39 serves to detect the respective position of the outer ring 31 or magazine insert 27.

In the walls of the coin guideway 8 there are slot-like openings through which deflection elements in the form of slides 40 can be inserted into the coin guideway 8. A slide 40 is assigned to each of the magazines 10 to 21. The slides 40 are actuated by electromagnets 41 controlled by the processor unit 7. The slides 40 are held outside the coin guideway 8 by springs, not shown, and are pushed into the coin guideway 8 against the spring force when the respectively associated electromagnet 41 is excited. The slider 40 are arranged inclined downward toward the respective magazine, so that a coin 35 stopped by the slider 40 pushed into the coin guideway 8 can roll from it into the free compartment 34 of the magazine insert 27 facing it. A coin detector 42 (FIG. 4) detects that the coin 35 has rolled down from the slide 40 and causes the electromagnet 41 to be de-energized, so that the slide 40 is moved out of the coin path 8 again by the spring.

In order to prevent the coin 35 falling on a slide 40 from rebounding, it is supported in a pivoted manner in a spring-loaded manner at a pivot point. When the coin 35 hits the slide 40, the free end of the slide 40 is pivoted down about the pivot point 43. The slide 40 is pressed by the electromagnet 41 against the opposite wall of the coin guide 8, so that the frictional forces occurring here dampen the pivoting movement and no vibrations occur. The slide 40 is after Reaching its lowest position is held in this by the frictional forces and only springs back into its starting position after de-energization of the electromagnet 41. A suitable band spring can both cause the slide 40 to be brought out of the coin guideway 8 and its return to the initial height.

Since two magazines are arranged at the same height, two slides 40 must also be provided at the same height in the wall of the coin path 8, but their inclination is directed in the opposite direction. 2, the opening 44 in the wall of the coin guideway 8 for the slide 40 assigned to the magazine 19 is indicated. The openings for the two sliders 40 which are at the same height are located in opposite walls of the coin guideway 8, i.e. these slides 40 are pushed into the coin guideway 8 from opposite sides. Since only one of these two sliders 40 may be operated at any time, there is no risk of mutual hindrance. In Fig. 3, only one electromagnet 41 is shown for one of the two sliders 40; the other electromagnet is on the opposite side with respect to the coin path 8.

The drive device for the magazine insert in the magazine 19 is also not shown in FIG. 3.

After a coin 35 has been received, the respective magazine insert 27 is rotated further by one division, so that the Münzleitbahn 8 faces an empty compartment again. This rotation is counterclockwise for magazines 10 to 15 and clockwise for magazines 16 to 21.

In the bottom part 25 of each of the magazines 10 to 21 there are two slot-like openings 45 and 46, which are each provided for the passage of a coin 35. The openings 45 of the magazines 10 to 15 on the one hand and the magazines 16 to 21 on the other hand are arranged in mutual vertical overlap and form the two dispensing coin guideways 22 connected to the cash dispenser tray 9. The openings 46 of the magazines 10 to 15 on the one hand and the magazines 16 to 21, on the other hand, are also arranged in mutual vertical overlap and form the two dispensing coin guideways 23 connected to the end cash register 24.

If, when the magazine insert 27 rotates one of the magazines 10 to 15 in the clockwise direction or one of the magazines 16 to 21 in the counterclockwise direction, a compartment 34 containing a coin 35 passes over the opening 45, then this coin 35 falls through this and the further openings 45 if necessary magazines located underneath and thus reach the cash dispenser tray 9 via the assigned coin guideway 22. This rotary movement of the magazine inserts 27, which is controlled by the processor unit 7, can thus be used to issue change or coins that have been input immediately before be returned. After returning or issuing, the magazine insert 27 must be rotated in the opposite direction until the coin guideway 8 faces an empty compartment.

When the coin is inserted, the magazine inserts 27 of the magazines 10 to 15 rotate counterclockwise and the magazines 16 to 21 clockwise. If the first filled compartment 34 of a magazine insert 27 passes through the opening 46, the coin 35 located therein falls through this and the further openings 46 of the magazines, which may be located below it, and thus reaches the end cash register 24 via the associated coin guideway 23. This overflow ensures that when coins are entered further into this magazine, no coins get into the cash dispenser 9 and that each coin fed via the coin guideway 8 finds an empty compartment 34.

If a magazine is to be completely emptied, the coins being to be discharged into the end cash box 24, then the magazine insert 27 is rotated counterclockwise in the magazines 10 to 15 and clockwise in the magazines 16 to 21 until all of the coins 35 containing compartments 34 have passed opening 46.

The openings 45 and 46 are preferably designed so that they become somewhat narrower towards the bottom. As a result, better guidance of the coins 35 in the coin guideways 22 and 23 is achieved.

The electrical connections between the individual magazines and the processor unit 7 as well as supply devices are established via a contact socket 47 if the assembly, which consists of two magazines lying next to one another, is inserted into a frame that accommodates all magazines.
