Claims (2)

  1. Device for protecting the ends of a cylinder for fluids made of composite materials of the type consisting of an inner shell (3) which ensures that the cylinder is fluid-tight under pressure and is made of moulded synthetic material, an outer shell (4), concentric with the first, providing mechanical strength and made of resin reinforced by a filament winding, and at least one metal bolster (5, 10) which, reinforcing at least the end of the cylinder which has an opening, is interposed with bonding between the ends of the two shells, and has a cylindrical end piece (7) disposed substantially in the longitudinal axis of the cylinder, characterised in that it comprises, on each end piece (7), firstly a metal dish (22) in the shape of a truncated cone, having the same conicity as the bolster of the end piece and an external diameter at least equal to that of this bolster, this dish being integral with a sleeve (22a) screwed onto a thread (25) produced on the external part of the corresponding end piece, secondly a washer (23) made of elastic material interposed between the dish and the external face of the end of the cylinder, and, in addition, a lock-nut (24) screwed onto the end piece.
  2. Device according to Claim 1, characterised in that it is applied against the fire-resistant protection (18 to 21) covering the inner (3) and outer (4) shells forming the cylinder.
