Definitions

  • the present invention relates to a machine for clearing the ground over a certain thickness and a given width, intended to reject the earth and the bodies which are often buried thereon on at least one side of the machine. More particularly, the invention relates to a demining device, rejecting, by detonating them if necessary, the mines buried in the earth to a given depth, on one or both sides of the device in order to clear a passage not dangerous for vehicles, or men, over a sufficient width.
  • One of them would consist in systematically detonating all the mines located on the passage that we want to clear by means of a machine beating the ground and located at the front of a vehicle.
  • Another method consists in clearing the ground to a certain depth and a width at least equal to the width of the vehicles to be passed by rejecting the earth and the obstacles which are there on at least one of the sides of the clear passage.
  • the present invention achieves the aim pursued by producing a mucking machine operating according to this latter method and characterized in that it comprises a frame, mounted at the front of the vehicle, on at least one side of which are arranged plowing bodies arranged one behind the other with respect to the direction of travel, with a lateral offset so that the earth, cleared and rejected laterally with the objects it contains by a plow body, is taken up by the body of next plowing to be thrown further, laterally in the same direction, with the earth cleared by it.
  • the plowing bodies are arranged on the two sides of the frame, in two identical series, each rejecting the earth laterally on its side.
  • the machine according to the invention comprises a frame 1 consisting of two beams 6, 6 ′ converging towards the front, connected to each other by a cross-member 5 by means of two pins 8, 9.
  • the frame 1 is connected to the carrier vehicle, or pusher, by at least three attachment points 7.
  • the beams 6 and 6 ′ are connected at the front, by means of two yokes 10 and 11, by an axis 12.
  • each of the beams 6, 6 ′ are arranged three plowing bodies 2, 3, 4 constituted by a vertical support 13 integral with the beam, on which a disc 14 is mounted for rotation. These plowing bodies are arranged on the beams 6 and 6 ′ so as to reject the earth on either side of the machine during advancement according to arrow A.
  • the discs 14 have diameters increasing from the front towards the rear of the machine with respect to in direction A of the progress.
  • the discs of each of the beams 6 and 6 ′ are arranged in a plane forming with the direction of advance A at an angle ⁇ .
  • This angle called the opening angle, can vary depending on the land worked and the results that one wants to obtain. It can also vary depending on the diameter of the disc 13. Therefore, it is not necessarily the same for all the discs of the machine.
  • the angle ⁇ can generally vary between 35 and 55 °.
  • this entry angle ⁇ varies according to the aforementioned parameters. It is generally between 15 and 25 °.
  • the machine Mounted in front of a vehicle, for example a tank, the machine is pushed in the direction of arrow A.
  • the discs penetrate the ground to a pre-set working depth. In the case shown, this depth is approximately 30 cm.
  • each disc 13 make it possible to clear large volumes of soil. Their way of working is different from that of a plow. Indeed, each disc rejects on the disc according to the volume of soil which it releases, this working method is facilitated by the fact that the diameters of the discs 13 increase from front to back and outwards.
  • the working width of the machine is variable. In the example described here, there is a working width of around 4.50 m. This width can be reduced by reducing the width of the crosspiece 5. For very reduced widths, 2.25 m for example, a single beam 6 can be used with a single series of plow bodies rejecting the earth on one side.
  • the working width to be set depends mainly on the width of the vehicles that you want to pass.
  • the realization of the machine can take different forms: discs of the same diameter; one or two beams; mounting means on the pusher vehicle.
  • a support roller can be provided at the front to determine the working depth from a height adjustment thereof.
  • the number of plows can be different from three.
  • These bodies can also be plowshares and mouldboards working in the same way, or any other plowing instrument that can provide the same result.
  • the junction between the beams 6 and 6 ′ at the front can be done without the axis 12, with only stops, because the forces exerted on the plow bodies during work are sufficient to maintain the convergence of the beams 6 and 6 ′ .
  • the machine can be folded back on the pusher vehicle for its transport, the beams 6 and 6 ′ can then be folded down with their plowing bodies on the edges of the machine.
  • the lifting and positioning of the machine can be carried out by means of hydraulic cylinders or any other similar device.
