Definitions
- the present invention relates to a method for improving the transfer efficiency of a perfume composition between a flexible porous or fibrous element, comprising said composition and at least one textile conditioning agent, and a cotton fabric, in order to increase the amount of said perfume composition deposited on said cotton fabric, during the drying of this fabric in a closed and heated enclosure, in the presence of said element.
- Said articles generally consist of an absorbent element or substrate carrying at least one textile conditioning agent, the action of which is of the softening, perfuming, anti-shrinking, bactericidal or other type.
- Patent US-A-4,073,996 to Bedenk and Sagel describes an article of the above-mentioned type consisting essentially of a substrate comprising a mixture of an organic softening agent with a smectite clay.
- Bedenk and Sagel also cite, in detail, other types of additives which may be added to said mixture, in particular perfume ingredients.
- these authors point out that it is very difficult to obtain an optimum transfer of the perfume compositions contained in the substrate between the latter and the textile treated during its drying, because of the problems relating to the often low substantivity of said textile and to the high volatility of most preferred fragrance ingredients in this type of application.
- the presence of smectite clay in the mixture comprising the packaging article which is the subject of their invention makes it possible to improve said transfer of the perfuming ingredient, with respect to the packaging articles described in the prior art.
- An object of the present invention is therefore to provide a method for improving the efficiency of the transfer of a perfume composition between a flexible porous or fibrous element, comprising said composition and at least one textile conditioning agent, and a cotton fabric, in order to increase the amount of said perfume composition deposited on said cotton fabric, during drying in a closed and heated enclosure of this fabric in the presence of said element, characterized in that said perfume composition contains a mixture of methyl abietates of formula may have one or two double bonds in the positions indicated by the dotted lines, in combination with at least one active fragrance ingredient of formula may have a double bond in the position indicated by the dotted line, and in which the wavy line defines a CC bond of configuration E or Z when the bond in the position indicated by the dotted line is double, and each of the symbols R1 and R2 , identical or different, represents a lower alkyl residue from C1 to C3.
- mixture of methyl abietates is understood here any mixture of two or more compounds of formula (I).
- esters of this type sold under the name of ABALYN (origin: Hercules Powder Co., USA) or HERCOLYN D (registered trademark; origin: Hercules Powder Co., USA).
- methyl-3-oxo-2-pentylcyclopentane acetate also known as methyl dihydrojasmonate

- Two large cotton bath towels weighing approximately 450 g each, obtained on the market, were washed in two separate automatic machines with unscented powder detergent, and then rinsed and wrung out in exactly the same conditions. temperature and wash cycle. They were then dried in two automatic driers, under standard temperature conditions and during the same time interval, in the presence of one of the Bounce sheets containing solution A or B as described above.
