Wegen des Gewichts der Wickelrolle und insbesondere auch wegen der zusätzlich von der Andrückwalze auf die Wickelrolle übertragenen Andruckkraft wirken auf den in seiner Haltestellung befindlichen Zapfen bzw. die Kolbenstange erhebliche diese auf Biegung beanspruchende Kräfte. Damit der Zapfen oder die Kolbenstange diese Kräfte ohne unzulässige Durchbiegung aufnehmen kann, müssen diese entsprechend dick ausgeführt werden. Ein größerer Durchmesser des Zapfens oder der Kolbenstange bedingt nun aber auch einen entsprechend größeren Durchmesser der Haltebuchse bzw. des Zylinders sowie der diese halternden Trageinrichtungen. Damit sind aber den Durchmessern der auf der Wickelvorrichtung zu bewickelnden Wickelhülsen Grenzen gesetzt. Um auf der Vorrichtung Wickelhülsen unterschiedlicher Längen bewickeln zu können, muß die Länge der Andrückwalze der größten Länge der zu bewickelnden Wickelhülsen entsprechen. Dies bedeutet aber, daß die Andrückwalze die den Zapfen lagernde Buchse oder den Zylinder und deren Halteeinrichtungen überragt, wenn die Träger der Haltedorne zum Bewickeln von kürzeren Wickelhülsen enger zusammengerückt sind, also einen geringeren axialen Abstand voneinander aufweisen. Device for winding webs of material, comprising at least one winding device, preferably two winding devices offset by 180 degrees with respect to each other and secured on a central shaft (2), having holding mandrels (11, 27) which are in line with each other, are intended for receiving winding sleeves (12) clamped between them and are mounted rotatably in supports (3) which are adjustable in their axial spacing in relation to each other, one holding mandrel of each winding device being provided with a drive (5-9) and the respectively other holding mandrel being mounted freely rotatably on an axially displaceable journal (16), preferably on the piston rod of a pneumatic piston-cylinder unit (14, 15), which is movable between its clamping position, clamping the winding sleeves, and its retracted position, releasing the winding sleeves, by a distance which corresponds to at least the sum of the depths of entry of the two holding mandrels into the bores of the winding sleeves, and having a pressure-applying roller (28) which can be brought into position against the winding sleeve held by the holding mandrels, characterised in that the freely rotatable holding mandrel (27) is mounted on a supporting piece (25), connected to the displaceable journal (16), offset eccentrically with respect to the journal (16) in the direction of the pressure-applying roller (28).
