Abstract

L'invention concerne une caisse-palette pliable comprenant un corps d'emballage (C) en forme de prisme droit à section octogonale et un fond (F) solidaire de ce corps de manière à l'obturer à une extrémité, et, d'une palette de manutention. Description

NEW FOLDABLE PACKAGING OF THE PALLET CASE TYPE, INCLUDING A CONTAINER IN THE FORM OF A RIGHT PRISM WITH OCTAGONAL SECTION.

The present invention relates to a new foldable package of the pallet box type, comprising a container in the form of a straight prism with an octagonal section, which has a plane of symmetry.

It is known that the term pallet box designates packaging comprising a cardboard, corrugated cardboard or similar packaging, the bottom of which is attached to a handling pallet, made of wood or plastic, intended to facilitate their movement. .

The use of such pallet boxes is more and more widespread, because they are easy to manufacture, of moderate cost and can have large volumes, the pallet with which they are provided allowing easy handling using transport or lift carts.

The most used pallet boxes include a container in the shape of a rectangular parallelepiped, the bottom of which, consisting of flaps adjoining the side walls, is fixed to the pallet.

In order to facilitate storage before use in a small volume of such pallet boxes with rectangular cross section, it has been proposed to fold the packaging body flat on the pallet, but pallet boxes of this type generally require, after mounting, the use of vertical wooden beams, known as "candles" in the art, to ensure them a satisfactory hold, and this increases their manufacturing cost and complicates the mounting operations. It has also been proposed (see French Patent No. 2,054,841) to equip the container base with two half-pallets fixed, respectively, on the flaps forming the external part of the bottom and adjoining two opposite side walls, which allows the container to be folded flat with the walls applied against each other, as well as the flaps forming the bottom, and with the half-pallets arranged on either side of the flattened packaging, outside of it.

The Applicant has also proposed, in its French patent application No. 2,592,365, a pallet box of the type comprising a corrugated cardboard container or the like, with rectangular cross section, the external part of the bottom of which comprises two adjoining flaps by a folding line with two opposite parallel walls and on each of which is fixed a wooden half-pallet or the like, each of the walls to which the flaps carrying the half-pallets are not contiguous being divided into two equal parts by a parallel folding line at the vertical edges of the container, while the flaps carrying the half-pallets are joined by at least one element of cardboard or the like forming a hinge, which is fixed on said flaps and which comprises a fold line arranged along the connection plane of said half -palettes.

In such a pallet box, it is possible, due to the vertical folding lines of the container walls not adjoining the flaps carrying the half-pallets, to perform an "accordion" folding of these walls of the container in order to fold it up. Ci flat, with the flaps carrying the half-pallets arranged in the extension of the side walls to which they are attached.

Conversely, it suffices to separate from one another the walls to which the flaps carrying the half-pallets are attached, by exerting traction on these walls or on these half-pallets, so that the pallet box is 'itself shaped, the flaps carrying the half-pallets straightening perpendicular to the adjoining walls, due to the hinge element which joins them.

It is therefore possible for the manufacturer to deliver the folded pallet boxes to the users and for them to store them thus, occupying only a very small volume, in order to shape them in a simple manner, without use any accessory whatsoever for mounting or when using them. Finally, based on the same general principle, the Applicant has proposed, in its French patent application No. 2,598,684, a pallet box of the type comprising a container made of a semi-rigid material, which comprises a packaging body in the form of a straight prism having a plane of symmetry, the edges of which consist of fold lines and the cross section of which is a polygon with more than four sides, two of the walls of said packaging body being parallel to said plane of symmetry; a bottom secured, on the one hand, to this packaging body, so as to close it at one end, and, on the other hand, to a handling pallet; and optionally, a cover intended to close off said body at the end opposite to said bottom, this pallet box being characterized in that, in order to be able to fold it flat before its final volume setting, the bottom is integral only parallel walls of the body and is divided into two equal parts by a fold line parallel to these walls and arranged in the plane of symmetry, the fold line being arranged in such a way that it joins together, after volume of the body -palette, two opposite edges of the body, or an edge and a parallel fold line of an opposite wall, or two fold lines parallel to the edges of two opposite walls, and in that said pallet consists of two half-pallets secured respectively to said equal parts of said bottom.

As described in this patent application, the container body can have, for example, a pentagonal, hexagonal or octagonal section.

It is thus possible to deliver to the user the pallet box folded flat, with the two parts of the bottom applied one against the other, as well as the walls to which they are contiguous and the contiguous walls, the half pallets being themselves applied flat outside said bottom portions. To put the pallet box in volume, the user only has to bring the two half-pallets in the extension one of the other thus bringing silmultaπément the two bottom halves in the same plane and by straightening the packaging body perpendicular to the bottom, without having to use templates, as in the prior art, c and without 'immobilizing several people for this work for quite a long time.

The present invention relates to a pallet box of the latter type, the packaging body or container of which also has a polygonal section having a plane of J, _Q symmetry and the support pallet of which is similarly constituted by two half pallets hinged together, which can be delivered to the user independently of the packaging body, to then be fixed on this body, the pallet box thus produced is then suitable for flat folding of the packaging body equipped with half pallets.

The invention aims more specifically to provide a pallet box of this type, the mounting of the packaging body on the half-pallets can be performed by 2 _Q the user more easily than according to patent application No. 2,598 684, which can then be folded flat easily and which has excellent mechanical strength, in particular for the packaging of bulk products, such as particles of "plastic" material.

To this end, the subject of the invention is a pallet box comprising a container made of a semi-rigid material, which comprises: a packaging body in the form of a straight prism with octagonal section having a plane of

30 symmetry, the edges of which are formed by fold lines and the cross section of which is a polygon with more than four sides, two of the walls of said packaging body being parallel to said plane of symmetry; a bottom integral, on the one hand, with this packaging body,

35 so as to close it off at one end, and, on the other hand, a handling pallet, which can be a pallet in one piece or else made up of two half-pallets arranged symmetrically with respect to the plane of symmetry the packaging body; this pallet box being characterized in that:

The first flaps can be made integral with one another, for example by means of tongues, assembled for example along the plane of _r symmetry of the packaging body.

These flaps can be glued, nailed or stapled on the half-pallets, but, advantageously, it is the triangular tabs which, in the assembled position, are arranged outside the body, which will be fixed by nailing on the half-pallets. The packaging bodies being delivered flat to users, they will very easily put them in volume and, then, will only have to fix the triangular tabs on the half-pallets.

As a variant, said first flaps, adjoining two parallel walls of the packaging body, constitute a single bottom element, divided in two by a fold line which, in the mounted packaging, is located in the plane of symmetry of the packaging body, and the two walls perpendicular to this plane of symmetry are contiguous by fold lines to said bottom element and are divided along the plane of symmetry by a fold line which extends that dividing the element of two background.

To facilitate the flat folding of the packaging body and its setting in volume, the edges of the packaging body may advantageously be extended by folding lines through the first or second adjoining flaps, in a plane perpendicular to these walls.

The first and second flaps and the walls to which they are attached may come from a single blank of cardboard or corrugated cardboard. Given the large dimensions of such pallet boxes, in particular when they are intended for the packaging of bulk materials whose mass can reach one ton per packaging, it may however be advantageous to produce the packaging body in two separate parts. , the bottom part then comprising a half-body with very reduced height walls, the walls of which are directly adjacent to the first and second flaps and which are glued or fixed by stapling against the corresponding walls of the real packaging body.

These various forms of implementation of the invention will be described below in detail, with reference to the accompanying drawings, which are not intended to be limiting. In these drawings:

Figure 1 is an exploded perspective view of a first embodiment of the pallet box according to the invention, wherein the body of the package and the bottom constitute two separate parts which are assembled together; FIGS. 2a and 2b are plan views of the blanks of corrugated cardboard from which the packaging body and the bottom of this first embodiment originate;

Figure 3 is an exploded perspective view of a second embodiment of the invention, where the packaging body and the bottom part form a single unit from the same blank;

FIG. 4 is a plan view of the corrugated cardboard blank from which the container of this second embodiment comes;

Figure 5 is an exploded perspective view of a third embodiment of the package;

Figure 6 is a plan view of the bottom portion;

Figure 7 is an exploded perspective view illustrating a fourth embodiment of the packaging according to the invention;

Figure 8 is a plan view of the bottom portion of this last embodiment.

The pallet box shown in Figures 1, 2a and 2b, includes:

- A packaging body C, in a semi-rigid material such as corrugated cardboard, in the form of a straight prism with an octagonal section, symmetrical, open at its two ends and whose edges are formed by fold lines; a bottom portion F, of octagonal shape substantially identical to the cross section of the body C and intended to close the latter at one of the ends,

- two half-pallets P secured to the bottom part and hinged together by a hinge. The half pallets can also be replaced by a single pallet. The body C and the bottom F have a plane of symmetry passing through the joint plane of the half-pallets.

A cover (not shown) can cover the upper end of the body.

According to the invention, the bottom part comprises eight low side walls, 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7 and 8, intended to be glued to the outside of the corresponding walls I, II, III , IV, V, VI, VII and VIII of body C.

At the base of the two opposite walls 4 and 8 adjoining, by a fold line, first flaps 9 and 10, intended to form the outer part of the bottom and to be assembled together by a tongue 11, which can be pinched between the two half-pallets in their joint plane or be packed between the bottom and the half-pallets under the weight of the packaged materials.

The walls 1 and 8 are assembled by gluing a tongue 12 and a flap 10a adjoining the tongue 12 is itself made integral with the flap 10 by gluing a tongue 13, the flap formed by the meeting of the flaps 10 and 10a having the same dimensions as the flap 9.

On the walls 2 and 6 are articulated, by a fold line, second flaps 14 and 15, intended, in the assembled position, to be applied inside the packaging against the internal part of the flaps 9 and 10 .

The flaps 9 and 10 are adjoining, by means of a triangular tongue, respectively 16 and 17, with adjacent walls, respectively 3 and 5, and 1 and 7. Each triangular tongue is articulated by a fold line at the base of the associated wall and on the corresponding flap by a second fold line arranged obliquely to the previous one so that in the assembled position (see FIG. 1), the tongues 16 and 17 protrude flat on the outside of the packaging and are applied against the adjoining flap 9 or 10, to form a bellows which can be easily nailed or stapled onto the half-pallets. The packaging body will be delivered pre-glued on the bottom part to the user. For this purpose, a fold line arranged in the plane of symmetry will divide the walls II and VI of the packaging body perpendicular to the plane of symmetry, the similar walls 2 and 6 of the bottom part and the flaps 14 and 15 adjoining these last walls.

It will be noted that, similarly, the edges separating the walls 1 to 8 of the bottom part are extended on the adjoining flaps by fold lines, in order to facilitate the flattening and the setting in volume, of this part of bottom, when attached to the packaging body. The half-pallets can be easily fixed for use on the bottom part and the packaging thus finished, despite its large dimensions and large volume, can be folded and stored before use.

In the case of the embodiment of FIGS. 3 and 4, the packaging body C ′ and the part of the bottom form a one-piece assembly resulting from a single blank of cardboard which is shown in FIG. 4.

All the parts of this assembly have already been described with reference to FIG. 2b, the walls l 'to 8' being simply much higher than the corresponding walls 1 to 8 of the bottom part, to form the walls of the body. packaging itself.

The invention therefore provides in the art a new packaging of the type of pallet boxes, intended in particular for packaging bulk materials, the container of which can be delivered flat to the users, can be easily mounted by them and can even then be stored flat before use.

The embodiment of Figure 5 can be compared to that of Figure 1 above. It includes:

- a packaging body C- ^ in a semi-rigid material such as corrugated cardboard, in the form of a straight prism with octagonal section, open at its two ends and of which the edges are formed by fold lines; a bottom part F- ^, of octagonal shape, intended to close off the body C- ^ at one of its ends

- two half-pallets P-i secured to the bottom part and hinged together by a hinge.

The body C- ^ and the bottom F- _j have a plane of symmetry passing through the joint plane of the half-pallets. Two opposite walls, respectively XVII and XVIII, of the body -t are perpendicular to the plane of symmetry and are divided vertically into two equal parts by fold lines arranged in this plane of symmetry.

A cover, not shown, can cover the upper end of the body.

According to the invention, the bottom part comprises eight low side walls, 21, 22, 23, 24, 25, 26, 27 and 28, intended to be glued to the outside of the corresponding walls, XI, XII, XIII, XIV, XV, XVI, XVII and XVIII of body C _χ .

The body C - * ^ comes from a single blank of corrugated cardboard of the type shown in FIG. 2a above.

The walls 22 and 25 are disposed respectively between the walls 21 and 23, on the one hand, and the walls 24 and 26, on the other hand, on which they are articulated by fold lines. In the assembled position of the packaging, these fold lines merge substantially with the corresponding lines by which the walls of the packaging body are hinged together.

The walls of the bottom part F ^ are articulated on the same octagonal element 30, constituting the bottom proper of the packaging, either directly by a fold line, for the walls 22 and 25, or by means of a triangular junction piece, respectively 31, 33, 34, 36, 37 and 38, for the walls 21, 23, 24, 26, 27 and 28. Each triangular piece is itself articulated by a fold line, of on the one hand, on the associated wall, on the other hand, on the element 30.

A fold line 40, arranged along the line of symmetry of the bottom part F- ^ and, in the assembled position of the package, in the plane of symmetry of the latter, divided into two symmetrical parts, 30a. and 30b_, the element 30, as well as the walls 27 and 28 and the adjoining triangular pieces 37 and 38.

As described above, the packaging body can be delivered flat to the users with the walls 21 to 26 of the bottom part pre-glued against the corresponding walls of the packaging body. In this part, the bottom element is folded around the fold line 30 with the two halves of the parts 37 and 38 and adjoining walls 27 and 28 applied against the two halves of the element 30.

To shape the packaging, the body C ^ is first shaped, which straightens the walls of the bottom part integral with it and brings the element 30 and the triangular pieces 37 into a horizontal position and 38, while the triangular parts are applied against the element 30, projecting outside the packaging body. In this position, the walls 37 and 38 of the bottom part are straightened to apply them and stick against the outside face of the associated walls of the packaging body.

All these operations can be easily implemented by the user himself at the place of use of the packaging.

The bottom of the packaging can be glued or stapled onto at least one of the half-pallets.

Of course, it would not go beyond the scope of the invention to produce a packaging of this type, the bottom and the body of which would be attached and made from a single blank of cardboard or corrugated cardboard suitably cut and pushed back. This blank would then be of the type of that of FIG. 6, but the walls 1 to 6 would then constitute the walls of the packaging proper and would have much greater heights. In such an embodiment, the walls 27 and 28 should naturally be made integral with the walls contiguous, respectively 21, 24 and 23, 26, after volume packaging.

In the embodiment of FIGS. 7 and 8, we find:

- A packaging body C- ^ ', in the form of a right prism with an octagonal section, open at its two ends and the edges of which are formed by fold lines;

- A bottom portion Fι '_> of octagonal shape, intended to close off the body C ^', at one of its ends;

- two half-pallets P ^ ', integral with the bottom part and hinged together by a hinge.

The body C - * ^ 'and the bottom part Fi' have a plane of symmetry passing through the joint plane of the half-pallets. Two opposite walls, respectively XVII 'and XVIII', of the body C- ^ 'are perpendicular to the plane of symmetry and are divided vertically into two equal parts by fold lines arranged in this plane of symmetry.

The bottom part includes an octagonal planar element 30 ', constituting the bottom itself, and eight low side walls 21', 22 ', 23 *, 24', 25 ', 26', 27 ', 28', intended to be glued to the outside of the corresponding walls XI ', XII', XIII *, XIV ', XV', XVI ', XVII' and XVIII 'of the packaging body.

The walls 22 'and 25' are articulated on the bottom by fold lines, while the walls 21 'and 23', on the one hand, 24 'and 26', on the other hand, which are adjacent to them, are articulated on the bottom by means of a triangular connecting piece, respectively 31 ', 33', 34 ', 36'. Each triangular part is itself articulated by a fold line, on the one hand, on the associated wall, on the other hand, on the bottom element 30 '. The walls 21 ', 22' and 23 ', on the one hand, 24', 25 'and 26', on the other hand, are hinged together by fold lines, which, in the assembled position of the packaging, are perpendicular to the part 30 * and come to merge substantially with the lines corresponding (vertical edges), by which the walls of the body C 'are hinged together.

As in the embodiment of FIGS. 5 and 6, two other walls 27 'and 28' are articulated on the flat part 30 'by a fold line perpendicular to the plane of symmetry of the bottom part F- ^' and are perpendicular to this plane of symmetry in the mounted position. A fold line 40 'divides into two equal parts 30'a_-30'b_, the flat part 30' at the bottom, as well as the walls 27 'and 28'.

These walls 27 'and 28' are lined internally by two half-walls, respectively 27'a-27'b, and 28 'a- 28'b, adjoining by a fold line respectively at the walls 21', 24 *, 23 'and 26'. The walls 27 'and 28' can be laminated externally between the associated half-walls. The walls 27 ′ and 28 ′ may also be optionally absent, the half-walls 27 ′ a-27 ′ b and 28 ′ -28 ′ b_ then being assembled together by gluing or stapling to form the walls. Heels 37 ', 38', 39 'and 40', articulated by fold lines respectively on the half-walls 27'a, 27'b, 28'a, 28'b, are applied against the part of bottom 30, against which they are glued or stapled.

As in the case of FIG. 6, the triangular parts 31 ′, 33 ′, 34 ′, 36 ′ protrude in the mounted position outside the bottom part.

In this embodiment, the packaging body can be delivered flat or to users with all the walls of the bottom part pre-glued against the corresponding walls of the packaging body.

In all its variants, the invention therefore provides in the art a new packaging of the pallet box type, intended in particular for packaging bulk materials, the container of which can be delivered flat to the users, can be easily mounted by them. and can even be stored flat before use.

Claims

CLAIMS 1.- Pallet box comprising a container made of a semi-rigid material, which comprises: a packaging body (C) in the form of a straight prism with octagonal section having a plane of symmetry, the edges of which are formed by lines folding and whose cross section is a polygon with more than four sides, two walls of said packaging body being parallel to said plane of symmetry; a bottom (F) integral, on the one hand, with this packaging body (C), so as to close it at one end, and, on the other hand, a handling pallet (P) which can be a one-piece pallet or else consisting of two half-pallets arranged symmetrically with respect to the plane of symmetry of the packaging body; this pallet box being characterized in that: - said bottom (F) comprises two first flaps (9, 10) each adjoining, on the one hand, by a fold line, at the base of two parallel walls (IV-VIII ) of the packaging body arranged symmetrically with respect to the plane of symmetry, on the other hand, by means of a triangular tongue (16, 17) articulated by a fold line on said first flaps, at the base of the two adjacent walls (III, V, VII, I) of each of said parallel walls, said triangular tongue (16, 17) itself being articulated by a fold line on said adjacent walls (III, V; VII, I) and being such that in the assembled position of the packaging body, it is applied against the adjoining flap, perpendicular to the walls of said body, projecting outside of the latter;

- optionally two flaps (14, 15) are attached respectively by a fold line at the base of the last two walls (II, VI) of the packaging body arranged perpendicular to the plane of symmetry, these second flaps being applied in position mounted against the internal face of the first flaps (9, 10) facing the interior of the packaging body;

- said last walls (II, VI) perpendicular in the plane of symmetry are divided along this plane by a fold line parallel to the edges of the body (C) and extending in the same plane along the entire length of said second flaps.

- Each of said first flaps (9, 10) is solidai¬ re, by its outer face, the pallet or one of said half-pallets.

2. Pallet box according to claim 1, characterized in that, in the assembled position, said first flaps are integral with one another, in particular by means of tongues 11, making it possible to assemble them along the plane of symmetry of the pallet box.

3. Pallet box according to claim 1, characterized in that the bottom part (F) is made integral with the half-pallets by fixing the triangular tabs (16, 17) on these half-pallets.
