Definitions
- the invention relates to a cuboid packaging container.
- Packaging containers which are often used as shipping boxes, are usually sealed with an adhesive tape. Aids (knives, scissors) must be used to open these containers, which has the disadvantage that the packaging material is damaged when opened improperly and there is a risk of injury to the person from the opening aids.
- packaging containers which are described for example in DE-A-25 33 205 and DE-A-29 46 014, contain notches or perforation lines as opening aids for the packaging. There is a risk that these lines of weakness tear open during transport and that the contents will be damaged. In addition, it is necessary that, in one of the packaging containers mentioned, only the lid can be opened after opening, that extra finger cutouts are formed in the side walls in order to remove the contents of the packaging, for example magnetic tape cassettes.
- packaging containers with tear strips are known from the prior art, described for example in DE-U-16 68 076, DE-A-31 40 389 and DE-A-35 08 093 and EP-A-0 199 225 and also GB-A-2.088.830, in which some of the tear strips are connected to pull tabs for tearing open the packaging.
- the invention was based on the task of developing a simply constructed packaging container with an integrated opening mechanism, which enables opening without aids and without risk of injury to the person or the goods to be packaged and which, in a preferred embodiment, is suitable for shipping stacked tape rolls.
- the tabs of the side walls (3, 4) and the side wall (3) contain weakening lines (9, 9 ', 10, 10', 11) perforated approximately in their geometric center as predetermined breaking lines.
- two stamped tabs (5, 6) are formed on at least one side wall (3) between the predetermined breaking lines, each of which is provided with an extension (5 ', 6') in the direction of the edges (7, 8) of the container.
- the predetermined breaking line (10, 10 ') is formed on the side wall (4) only on the side tabs.
- a groove (18, 18 ') or crease line is formed between the tab and its extension.
- the container is closed by an adhesive tape (12) (FIG. 3) starting at the extension (5 ') of the tab (5) all the way to the three side walls up to the extension (6') of the second tab (6 ) is glued, the side flaps (13, 13 ', 14, 14') are each connected to one another. Only the predetermined breaking point (11) is exposed.
- the width of the adhesive tape is the same or slightly wider than the width of the tabs (5, 6).
- the procedure for opening the packaging container according to the invention is as follows. First, one of the tabs is pushed in or pierced with your finger. "PRESS" can be printed on the tabs to clarify handling. Then the tab can be gripped through the resulting grip hole. Behind the flap there should be a small cavity about the width of your hand or finger. The tab is now gripped and pulled out. The tape, which is attached to the extension of the tab, is pulled up and can be easily separated from the packaging container. This opens one side of the packaging container. The same procedure is followed with the second tab. The packaging container is thus open on both sides.
- the packaging container can now be opened at the predetermined breaking point (11), so that the packaging container can now be opened like a book and the exposed packaging contents can be removed with ease (FIG. 4).
- Another advantage is that the opened packaging container, which no longer has any residual tension, lies flat and can therefore be disposed of more easily. The previous tedious tearing of the containers for waste disposal is now a thing of the past for the end user.
- the packaging container according to the invention can be used in a preferred manner for the dispatch of finished tape rolls or stacked pancakes, for example for magnetic tapes, since it is their cylindrical Shape enables a cavity to be located behind the tabs inside the packaging container.
- cuboid objects can also be used advantageously in the container according to the invention. In this case there can be a cavity behind the flap, for example, which is created by a cardboard intermediate layer.
- the material for the packaging container according to the invention can be cardboard or corrugated cardboard, and the cardboard material can also be laminated with a plastic coating.

Description
Die Erfindung betrifft einen quaderförmigen Verpackungsbehälter. The invention relates to a cuboid packaging container.
Packaging containers, which are often used as shipping boxes, are usually sealed with an adhesive tape. Aids (knives, scissors) must be used to open these containers, which has the disadvantage that the packaging material is damaged when opened improperly and there is a risk of injury to the person from the opening aids.
Other packaging containers, which are described for example in DE-A-25 33 205 and DE-A-29 46 014, contain notches or perforation lines as opening aids for the packaging.
Furthermore, packaging containers with tear strips are known from the prior art, described for example in DE-U-16 68 076, DE-A-31 40 389 and DE-A-35 08 093 and EP-A-0 199 225 and also GB-A-2.088.830, in which some of the tear strips are connected to pull tabs for tearing open the packaging.
The invention was based on the task of developing a simply constructed packaging container with an integrated opening mechanism, which enables opening without aids and without risk of injury to the person or the goods to be packaged and which, in a preferred embodiment, is suitable for shipping stacked tape rolls.
According to the invention the object was achieved with a packaging container with the features mentioned in claim 1. Further details of this packaging container can be found in the subclaims.
- Figure 1 shows a blank of the packaging container according to the invention
- Figure 2 shows the packaging container according to Figure 1 in the partially unfolded state
- Figure 3 shows the packaging container in the closed state
- Figure 4 shows the packaging container after opening with the packaged goods.
If the one-piece blank (1) according to Figure 1 is unfolded, the side flaps of the side walls (3, 4) and the side flaps (13, 13 ', 14, 14') of the bottom part (15) and the cover part (16) along the Grooves (7, 8) folded. The tab (17) of the side part (3) is connected to the cover part (16), for example by gluing. This partially unfolded state of the packaging container is shown in Figure 2.
According to the invention, the tabs of the side walls (3, 4) and the side wall (3) contain weakening lines (9, 9 ', 10, 10', 11) perforated approximately in their geometric center as predetermined breaking lines. In addition, two stamped tabs (5, 6) are formed on at least one side wall (3) between the predetermined breaking lines, each of which is provided with an extension (5 ', 6') in the direction of the edges (7, 8) of the container. In the preferred embodiment, the predetermined breaking line (10, 10 ') is formed on the side wall (4) only on the side tabs. A groove (18, 18 ') or crease line is formed between the tab and its extension.
After the packaging material has been introduced, the container is closed by an adhesive tape (12) (FIG. 3) starting at the extension (5 ') of the tab (5) all the way to the three side walls up to the extension (6') of the second tab (6 ) is glued, the side flaps (13, 13 ', 14, 14') are each connected to one another. Only the predetermined breaking point (11) is exposed. The width of the adhesive tape is the same or slightly wider than the width of the tabs (5, 6).
The procedure for opening the packaging container according to the invention is as follows. Through the openings created when pulling out the tabs, the packaging container can now be opened at the predetermined breaking point (11), so that the packaging container can now be opened like a book and the exposed packaging contents can be removed with ease (FIG. 4). For heavy packaging contents (19) this means a considerable handling advantage. Another advantage is that the opened packaging container, which no longer has any residual tension, lies flat and can therefore be disposed of more easily. The previous tedious tearing of the containers for waste disposal is now a thing of the past for the end user.
From the above description it is clear that the packaging container according to the invention can be used in a preferred manner for the dispatch of finished tape rolls or stacked pancakes, for example for magnetic tapes, since it is their cylindrical Shape enables a cavity to be located behind the tabs inside the packaging container. However, it is also readily apparent to any person skilled in the packaging field that cuboid objects can also be used advantageously in the container according to the invention. In this case there can be a cavity behind the flap, for example, which is created by a cardboard intermediate layer.
The material for the packaging container according to the invention can be cardboard or corrugated cardboard, and the cardboard material can also be laminated with a plastic coating.
