- the invention relates to an autonomous radio clock according to the preamble of claim 1.
- Such a radio clock is known from the article by W. Ganter “JUNG - HANS - radio clock RC 2 "in Goldschmiede - (2004), issue 1/88, page 148.
- This radio clock which quickly has brought about the receiver periodically, at predetermined times, temporarily to display the current time if necessary due to current radio correct received time telegrams. Independently of which the receiver is switched on - each time a reset or START switch with which the current time display at the same time in a 00:00:00 reference position is driven, cf. also DE-GM 87 12 803. As soon as radio reception is a valid one Provides time information, the recipient becomes again switched off and the time display in rapid brought the appropriate position. If so mechanical parts (hands or numerals - fall flap - pen) must be moved, then it will be used necessary time span is taken into account in the control, so that finally the actual, current time is displayed.
- the solution according to the invention is thus based on the realization that it is enough to be correct indicating radio clock after changing the time zone the previous hour display once to be corrected manually accordingly (before or reset), whereupon in the future with the radio-controlled Time display this time zone correction is automatically taken into account.
- the time zone correction value manually in a separate Hourly memory can be entered which this correction value (taking into account its addition or subtraction sign) with the decoded, currently via radio received hourly information from a transmitter, set to a different time zone for the display of the actual local time contracted becomes. So the radio operation is the Also outside the time zone to which the Station is set, possible.
- the traveler returns in the range of those matching the transmitter Time zone back then he can either the previously performed zone correction undo that he added the additional Zone hour memory manually again Zero resets, so that from now on via radio received hourly information no zone correction more is added; or the radio clock is restarted by confirming the reset button, which also means the hour correction memory is reset to zero.
- the solution according to the invention makes it possible moreover, for commissioning the watch without current reception of valid time telegrams in conventionally, for example by Broadcasters on certain full hours broadcast synchronized signal to wait and then press the reset or START switch.

- Radio time information 15 With the first detection of one Radio time information 15 is then expedient at the same time, the information in not more required separate hourly memory 26 deleted so that not via the totalizer 27 wrong hour H appears when the user the clock 11 reset via the switch 24 forgets.
- the Reset input R of the memory 26 via OR gate 32 driven when mentioned a new reception start via switch 18 is initiated or if a recipient changeover information 21 appears. Should the carrier the watch is in the wrong time zone, he can use the display again as described modify the hourly memory 26.
Description
The invention relates to an autonomous radio clock according to the preamble of claim 1.
Such a radio clock is known from the article by W. Ganter "JUNG - HANS - radio clock RC 2 "in Goldschmiede - Zeitung, issue 1/88, page 148. This radio clock, which quickly has brought about the receiver periodically, at predetermined times, temporarily to display the current time if necessary due to current radio correct received time telegrams.
A special microcomputer radio clock is available as Building instructions in the magazine "radio television electronics "(Berlin 1986, issue 4, pages 215 to 217) in the case of a time display using electro-optical digital numerical presentation described. Not is a generic autonomous radio clock on the other hand, in the case of US 4,582,434 A, because there is no absolute time information and decoded, just the current one Display deviation from one periodically occurring synchronization signal is evaluated; there with the peculiarity that the recipient for Provision of the synchronization impulses with a automatic reception switch for current optimal reception conditions and with facilities to change the current time display according to a time zone - or Summertime - changing is equipped.
Problematic for the operation of an autonomous Radio clock of the generic type, it may be that the time information transmitted by the transmitter by radio to a specific geographic time zone is related. With a portable watch, such as a wristwatch or an alarm clock, true therefore the display on the carried watch regarding the hour display no longer when the Traveler crosses a time zone boundary; because after that, based on the newly achieved Time zone, the hour display by one hour (or depending on the time zone - circumstances half an hour) ahead or behind.
It is known from US 4,117,661 A in the case of an autonomous radio clock, its time counter to adjust by manual additional inputs, with which especially a summer time change or a time zone change at there too again taken into account digital time display can be. The one provided there is disadvantageous directly influencing the time counter for the user especially because of this exactly count the additional impulses entered and must keep this manual change to be able to undo it later, if, for example, he left in the previously Time zone returns. This procedure is true facilitated by a time difference display like her is known for a world time wristwatch (cf. DE-Z UJS 10/87, page 37), but it is again is not an autonomous radio clock, but a self-sufficient wristwatch with a slidable over stylized world map Time zone cursor for manual retrieval of the zone time in the currently displayed geographically Time zone.
If such a watch, for example after a battery change, put into operation then the user orientates himself any other current time information available and operates the buttons for advancing the digital display until the digits are displayed with the current time. However, such handling is not possible with a generic autonomous Radio clock because these don't have manual at all Setting options for displaying the time because this is on the START command and then periodically determined by radio and automatically checked and if necessary corrected. It is therefore problematic if one such generic radio clock put into operation should be, but z. B. due to local Conditions at the place of reception (bad Reception conditions) or due to operational reasons Conditions at the sending location (switched off Transmitter) at the moment - and possibly until further notice - no (correct) time telegrams can be received. However, the consumer expected from a highly technical product like a consumer radio clock that he also this such (usually unknown to him) radio-specific exceptional circumstances as can use full clock.
The knowledge of these facts lies in the Invention the task of a radio clock generic type to equip such that even after changing the time zone, without reception time telegrams stored in the new time zone, reusable with correct time display is, in particular also the possibility a radio clock of the generic type is to be opened Art even then anyway The clock with the usual accuracy increases can, if not currently usable Time telegrams are received via radio can.
This object is according to the invention solved that the generic radio clock after the Labeling part of claim 1 designed is.
The solution according to the invention is thus based on the realization that it is enough to be correct indicating radio clock after changing the time zone the previous hour display once to be corrected manually accordingly (before or reset), whereupon in the future with the radio-controlled Time display this time zone correction is automatically taken into account. For this can the time zone correction value manually in a separate Hourly memory can be entered which this correction value (taking into account its addition or subtraction sign) with the decoded, currently via radio received hourly information from a transmitter, set to a different time zone for the display of the actual local time contracted becomes. So the radio operation is the Also outside the time zone to which the Station is set, possible. The traveler returns in the range of those matching the transmitter Time zone back then he can either the previously performed zone correction undo that he added the additional Zone hour memory manually again Zero resets, so that from now on via radio received hourly information no zone correction more is added; or the radio clock is restarted by confirming the reset button, which also means the hour correction memory is reset to zero.
The solution according to the invention makes it possible moreover, for commissioning the watch without current reception of valid time telegrams in conventionally, for example by Broadcasters on certain full hours broadcast synchronized signal to wait and then press the reset or START switch. This will change the time display to 00 minutes and reset 00 seconds and the clock below your internal time base for the time display - progression started - but with one arbitrary - inapplicable (given at random) Hour display or with the hour 00 if reset the hour display to 00 was set. The hour display is combined with the update of the remaining current ones Corrected time display, if still one valid radio time telegram received and should be able to be decoded. If so after a reasonable period of waiting is not the case, then, as in the case of the Time zone change, a manual correction of the obviously incorrect current hour display by setting the additional hourly memory performed. Based on this Correction information is then updated the hour display from the internal Time base. Then should again There are circumstances in which usable Time telegrams received and decoded then the recipient assigned hourly memory (in the display register) set to the hour of the transmitter and the Hour counter assigned to the hour switch correct accordingly so that the displayed Hour again the local (geographical) Conditions.
According to the descendant of the current one Time display in the actual, current time also applies to zeroing the time display Actuation of the rest or START switch, that the display change is practically inert can be realized if it is a non-mechanical Time display is about a electronic display for the display of switchable Pointer or number symbols; that but the solution according to the invention is also time displays to be mechanically advanced (i.e. with geared hands or others mechanical displays such as digits - falling sheets) can be realized, then only in as such known way of delaying the run-in from the current display position in to take the 00 - reference position into account is when the hour synchronization mark appears the START switch is actuated has been. The timed advancement of the advertisement takes place from the internal time base as soon as the current display is the actual, current one Time has reached.
Additional alternatives and further training as well as other features and advantages of the invention result from the further claims and, also taking into account the explanations in the summary, from the description below one in the drawing under restriction to the essentials as a single pole Block diagram highly abstracted preferred Realization example of the invention Solution. The only figure in the drawing shows one autonomous radio clock with digital time display and manually operated synchronization and Time zone switches.

When staying in an area where no
Time transmitter can be received or for that

Claims (9)
- An autonomous radio-controlled timepiece (11) having an internal timekeeping circuit (22) and having a time display, the registers (16) of which can be reset to zero in response to operation of a START switch (18) which switches on its receiver (13), whilst parallel to this the receiver (13) is switched on in order to correct the registers (16) upon reception of a valid time telegram,
characterized in that
it is additionally provided with an hour switch (24) for changing the hour display (17), the registers (16) also being immediately operated from the internal timekeeping circuit (22) in response to operation of the START switch (18) and at the same time a timekeeping stepping-on of the time display from the internal clock circuit (22) being started, and in addition an hour store (26), which can be manually set by way of the hour switch (24), is also provided for an item of correction information (ΔH), the content of this hour store (26) being additively combinable with the hour register (16H) and being erasable again by the receiver (13) on reception of a valid time telegram. - Radio-controlled timepiece according to Claim 1,
characterized in that
its hour display (17 H) is the result of the combining of an item of register hour information (15'H) derived from the receiver (13) and the corrective item of hour information (ΔH) from the store (26) associated with the hour switch (24). - Radio-controlled timepiece according to Claim 1,
characterized in that
the timekeeping clock circuit (22) can be synchronized from the receiver (13) with the coding/seconds rhythm of time telegrams. - Radio-controlled timepiece according to one of the preceding claims,
characterized in that
an additional display (28) is provided for the manually preset correction value in respect of the hour display (17 H). - Radio-controlled timepiece according to one of the preceding claims,
characterized in that
it is provided with an electro-optical display (17), which can be switched over with practically no delay, at any rate for the minutes display (M) and the seconds display (S). - Radio-controlled timepiece according to one of the preceding claims,
characterized in that
it takes the form of a wristwatch. - Radio-controlled timepiece according to one of the preceding claims,
characterized in that
it is provided with a transmitter selector switch, for reception and decoding of time telegrams from different time transmitters, the operation of which clears any blockage of the operation of the receiver (13) possibly produced by the hour switch (24). - Radio-controlled timepiece according to one of the preceding claims,
characterized in that,
on operating the START switch (18), apart from the register (16) the manually set hour correction time (ΔH) is also reset. - Radio-controlled timepiece according to one of the preceding claims,
characterized in that,
each time the hour switch (24) is operated, a future periodic temporary switching-on of the receiver (13) is initialized.
