Abstract

In the case of a continuous machine with a sinuous wall as a screw conveyor (7), the construction axis of the screw conveyor and the axis of rotation of the washing drum (1) are arranged eccentrically to one another. Wash fins (4) are only located in the area furthest away from the construction axis of the screw conveyor. In this way, a favorable ratio of the washing drum diameter to the laundry item weight is achieved.

Description

The invention relates to a continuous washing machine for lot washing, consisting of a tubular washing drum which contains a sinuous wall as a screw conveyor. Such a lot washing machine is described in DE-OS 29 27 873. One turn of the screw conveyor forms a washing chamber for one item of laundry. The washing process takes place by swinging the washing drum by less than 360 °, while a full rotation causes the laundry item to be transported to the next washing chamber. From DE-PS 29 44 857 it is known to provide the shell part of the washing drum enveloping the screw conveyor with driving ribs which are distributed uniformly in a known manner in the longitudinal direction of the drum shell over its inner surface.

The outlay for such a continuous washing machine is essentially determined, among other things, by the diameter for the washing drum that has to be chosen for a certain desired weight of a laundry item. The invention has for its object to make this ratio of washing drum diameter to lot weight cheaper. To achieve the object of the invention, the characterizing features specified in claim 1 are proposed.

The invention is to be explained in more detail with reference to the drawing and to be illustrated using an exemplary embodiment.

Es zeigen

Show it
  • 1 a and 1 b, the conditions with a concentric arrangement of the axis of rotation and the construction axis of the screw conveyor on a drum cross section.
  • 2 a and 2 b, the conditions when arranged according to the invention.
  • Fig. 3 shows a longitudinal section through a washing drum in principle.

In the known continuous washing machines, the axis of rotation of the washing drum 1 coincides with the center hole 2 of the screw conveyor, as shown in FIGS. 1 a and 1 b. During the washing process during the washing drum pendulum movement, the laundry is churned by the washing fins 4, so that it takes up the volume 5 a together with the wash liquor, while in the rest position (FIG. 1 b) only the volume 5 b is claimed.

The capacity of the washing drum 1 is limited by the fact that no laundry may fall through the center hole 2 of the screw conveyor during the washing process or touch a center tube introduced there. On the other hand, the laundry is at a greater distance from the center hole 2 by about the height H (FIG. 16), so that more laundry could be transported here. You can thus the center hole 2 of the shift the screw conveyor by about half the height H further to the washing drum jacket, on the one hand to achieve a greater distance from the washing fins 4, but on the other hand to have enough space for the now possible larger amount of laundry 5 b + 5 d during the transport process. 2 a and 2 b, the conditions in the case of an eccentrically arranged screw conveyor are shown schematically in comparison to FIGS. 1a and 1b. With a swivel angle of less than 360 o of the washing drum during the washing process, a few washing ribs or, in extreme cases, only one washing rib per washing chamber are sufficient in the area which is predominantly at the bottom - in contact with the laundry - during the pendulum movement. In the drawing Fig. 2 a + 2 b, a pair of washing fins is provided. The laundry is lifted from these washing fins 4 and thereby moved so that a mechanical washing effect is achieved. The larger space required in this area is achieved by the eccentric arrangement of the conveyor line. With a cheaper, smaller washing drum, the same laundry throughput can be achieved by the invention.

The screw conveyor expediently has a uniform pitch with respect to its construction axis 9 which is eccentrically located in the washing drum. This has the advantage that the screw conveyor can be manufactured on a tool which also serves for screw conveyors with a central construction axis, namely with the same angle of inclination of the screw conveyor. As shown in FIG. 3, there is also the advantage that the axial movement of the laundry per unit of the pivoting angle during the washing process is less than during the transport process. The lower boundary edge 6 of the screw conveyor 7 has a uniform course, while the outer edge 8 abutting the washing drum casing in space has a periodically changed course, namely in the washing area (large distance from the washing drum 1 to the construction axis 9 of the screw conveyor) there is a slight shift per edge length unit of the edge 8 with respect to the longitudinal axis, and a larger shift in the opposite transport area.
