Description

The invention relates to a fan heater with a housing for receiving a blower and an electrical heating register, the housing of which can be pivoted and rotated to achieve changes in direction of the blower exhaust air flow on a foot part and is formed by a prismatic front housing part having an exhaust opening and a rear housing part with supply air openings is.

In the case of a known fan heater (US-A-4703152), the supply air opening is arranged in the rear wall of the housing, which means that when the fan heater is ordered close to the wall, in particular in corner areas, unfavorable impairments in the air throughput are indicated. This often leads to overheating and damage to the fan heater.

It is an object of the invention to ensure that the air throughput in fan heaters is of sufficient size and can be changed.

According to the invention, this object is achieved in that the rear housing part is truncated pyramid-shaped, that the supply air openings extend over a partial height of the opposing upright side walls of the rear housing part and that the supply air openings are overlapped by a number of strips formed next to one another.

In this way, with any installation of the fan heater, e.g. A sufficient air supply to the blower is guaranteed on wall surfaces, in particular in corner areas of wall surfaces. The safety effect is particularly supported by the arrangement of the strips that form air channels between them, via which, preferably the front ends, sufficient air supply can take place, even when the fan heater is turned directly on wall surfaces.

In the case of a fan heater of the above type, it is further provided that a further supply air opening is provided in the upper Seikenwand and / or the rear rear wall of the rear housing part. This provides the possibility that an adequate supply air supply is reliably guaranteed even when several housing surfaces are covered.

In the design of the fan heater, it is further provided that the supply air openings and the supply air opening-free surface sections of the rear housing part are overlapped by a number of spaced strips which extend over the entire extent of these surfaces. The strips form air channels, which are in the direct wall position of the housing are permanently open in the area of the front ends and provide for the supply of blown air via the ends.

Finally, measures for aligning the fan heater housing on the foot are given in that the foot part is designed as a spherical section. The housing adjustable on the spherical section can preferably be fixed by frictional force on the foot part in the upright position as well as on the pivoting and / or rotating positions. To achieve a wide range of exhaust air, it is advantageous to make the housing oscillate on the foot part.

Furthermore, it is provided that the truncated pyramid-shaped housing part interchangeably carries plate-shaped air filters which grip over the supply air openings. In this way it is achieved that the supply air openings are now provided with measures to prevent dust being raised in the housing and via the outlet openings. According to a preferred embodiment, the plate-shaped air filters are formed by filter mats enclosed by frames. The filter mats can be made of textiles or porous plastics. It is also possible to design the air filters as bipolar filters or as electrostatic filters.

It goes without saying that the air filters can be assigned to the air passage openings after the rear housing part has been removed from the front housing part. However, the truncated pyramid-shaped housing part is preferably provided with through-openings for the air filters in the side walls extending between the side walls having the air inlet openings. After such a design, all that is required is simple plug-in operations for inserting or removing the Air filter. The through openings arranged in the housing parts are expediently closable by means of pivotable, displaceable or pluggable closing bodies. There is also the possibility of making the feedthrough openings closable simply by the frames of air filters introduced into the rear housing part. By arranging depressions in the housing parts next to the through openings, the air filters are easy to detect. The air filters can also themselves, for example, have approaches as handles. The filters can be replaced at predetermined intervals. Precise air filtering can, however, be achieved if the housing parts have an automatically triggerable optical and / or acoustic indicator for a necessary filter change. Such a filter change indicator can respond, for example, to changes in vacuum in the housing parts. The changes in vacuum arise due to more or less severe clogging of the filter passages by dust particles or the like. a. It is also possible to make the filter change indicator controllable depending on the size of the flow speed of the fan air. Changes in flow velocities occur when the filter cross-sections of the filter openings are changed due to clogging by dust particles.

In a further fan heater of the type mentioned, it is provided that the front housing part has a flat front and in the direction of flow of the blower air at a distance behind the exhaust air openings has a housing opening extending over the exhaust air openings, that in the housing opening between two end positions, a number of air guide strips are set next to one another are that together close the housing opening in one end position and form a front side section and in the other end position, there are passages between them for the blower air. The fan heater can thus deliver blown air to the room in accordance with the swivel positions of the air duct strips and the size of the passages with different pressure numbers and flow rates. In addition, the air duct strips allow the air flow to be aligned and, when in the closed position, help protect the blower against dust. The air guide strips are expediently arranged in the housing opening so as to be pivotable about parallel vertical axes. The air guide strips can also be arranged in the housing opening so as to be pivotable about parallel horizontal axes. Finally, any other arrangement of the air guide strips is also conceivable. It is provided that the air guide strips are delimited by mutually parallel upright side surfaces. The air guide strips thus form strip parts that have the same width over their entire length. However, there is also the possibility of forming the air guide strips with widths of different sizes from one another, as a result of which, for example, the central section of the housing opening can accommodate narrower air guide strips and the edge regions can accommodate wider air guide strips.

The air guide strips are preferably made with an essentially rectangular cross section over their length. There is the possibility that adjacent air guide strips overlap each other with overhangs or the like extending beyond the upright side surfaces thereof and thus contribute to a tight covering of the housing opening.

In a further development of the fan heater, it is also provided that the air guide strips have a cross-sectional shape with essentially a right-angled triangle and that the ends of the cross section of the air guide strips, which are approached at right angles, accommodate the pivot axes for these.

It is also conceivable to form the air guide strips in one piece or by halves divided in the central longitudinal plane thereof. the one with the other. e.g. are firmly connected by gluing or welding. The latter designs of the air guide strips provide the prerequisite for a simple configuration of the same. The air guide strips are especially molded or injection molded from plastic, e.g. formed by extrusion molding and optionally provided with coatings of paint or metals. The air duct strips are mechanically and chemically protected by the covers.

According to a further embodiment of the fan heater, it is provided that the air guide strips can be pivoted individually, independently of one another, manually or by a motor. This makes it possible to close the housing opening or to open it in whole or in part. It is further provided that the air guide strips are connected to one another by mechanical means and that they can be swiveled together manually or by a motor at the same time. The simultaneous pivotability of the air guide strips leads to a particularly simple and quick actuation of the same and facilitates the alignment of the fan air flow. For this purpose, the air guide strips expediently have projections, bends or projections which extend transversely to the longitudinal center plane thereof and to which the mechanical means engage in an articulated manner. Push rods or cable drives can serve as mechanical means. In addition, it is still possible to equip the air guide strips with toothed gear wheels and the gear wheels engage with a toothed rack that is displaceably guided in the housing part bring to. When the position of the rack changes, individual rotations of the air guide strips about their axes of rotation take place via the gear wheels. When the blower is stopped, the air guide strips can expediently be automatically brought into the closed position and the device protected against the effects of dust.

In addition, profilings are provided on the side forming the front side section of the housing part for strengthening the air guide strips. The profiles advantageously extend in the longitudinal direction of the air guide strips and can be produced when the air guide strips are shaped or by extrusion molding or by mechanical processing.

It is also advantageous to make the air guide strips lockable in the cover position or the cover position and swivel position, so that unintentional or unauthorized pivoting of the air guide strips out of the closed position or into this is reliably prevented.

Furthermore, measures for safely accommodating preselectable automatic switching elements on the housing are to be created in that a recess is formed in the front of the front part of the housing in addition to the fan exhaust opening, in that a flap which can be swung out from the plane of the front about a housing-fixed axis to the front is arranged in the recess and that the flap has a device for the preselectable automatic switching on and off of the blower or of the blower and the heating register. The device is thus concealed in the receiving housing against external influences and insight and is freely recognizable and accessible by a simple pivoting-down process of the flap. The hidden arrangement of the device gives protection against unintentional actuation, whereby the user of the fan heater is certain that the fan heater is not switched on or off in the absence.

The flap is preferably formed below at a distance from the exhaust air opening in the front part of the housing. The flap is expediently arranged on the front part of the housing so that it can be pivoted about a vertical axis, which ensures particularly energy-saving operation of the flap and thus of the device. It is understood that the flap can also be held on the housing in some other way, e.g. is pivotally arranged about a horizontal axis on the housing front part.

In an embodiment of the fan heater, it is provided that the time preselection device is formed in a simple form by an analog clock and can be actuated by means of manual actuators. In this case, the actuators can be arranged in the boundary surfaces of the flap which are concealed when the flap is pivoted into the recess in the front part of the housing. In this way, the actuators are only accessible when the flap is pivoted out and the device is also secure against damage. According to a further embodiment, the time preselection device is to be formed by an electronic time module with digital actuation and digital or analog display. The digital actuation of the time preselection device can take place via actuators formed in the front of the flap. Optical displays show the switching status of the time preselection device and the preselected time period.

It is understood that the actuation of the actuators for the device can be effected directly by hand. However, there is also the option of To make time selection device controllable by means of a remote control device located at a distance from the receiving housing. The remote control device can work as desired, for example with infrared or ultrasound. It is also conceivable to use a remote control device which is connected to the device via cables. The flap can also be designed as a hollow empty body and the cavity created in this way can be used to hold additional devices, for example the remote control device.

Finally, the invention provides that the switching and control elements are arranged in an independent strip-shaped housing which can be used in the front and / or rear housing part and that the switching and control elements can be connected via electrical conductors to the electrical devices accommodated in the receiving housing parts are and protrude with their actuators an outer surface of the housing parts outside. The switching and regulating elements can thus be preassembled separately from the fan heater housing or the electrical devices and can be attached to the housing by simple plug-in operations and connected to the electrical devices.

The strip-shaped housing can preferably be inserted into a cup-shaped recess in the front and / or rear housing part. The strip-shaped housing is expediently accommodated in the rear housing part, the actuating elements of the switching and regulating elements extending approximately in the region or in the vicinity of the parting plane of the two housing parts. The electrical conductors can form a cable harness that is permanently permanently connected to the switching and regulating elements, one end of which is firmly connected to the switching and regulating elements, while the Switching and regulating elements facing away from the ends of the connector or crimp approaches. In this way, the connection of the switching and control elements to the electrical devices in the fan heater housing can be achieved in a particularly simple manner by means of plug-in operations. In addition, the strip-shaped housing can have remote-controlled switching and control elements. This means that the switching and control elements can be actuated, for example, at a distance from the fan heater. It is also conceivable that the strip-shaped housing together with the switching and control elements is designed as a remote control device which can be removed from the housing parts, the switching and control elements being connected either via electrical conductors to the electrical devices in the housing parts or wirelessly, for example by radio or Infrared or ultrasound act on the electrical devices arranged in the housing parts for switching and control processes.

In a further embodiment of the invention, a passage opening is formed in the wall of the housing parts at a distance from the recess receiving the strip-shaped housing in the front or rear housing part and the passage opening is to be gripped by a carrying handle that can be moved to the housing between an inner and outer end position and can be supported on the housing. The carrying handle thus connected to the housing can be pulled out of the housing for transport purposes and moved back into the housing in a space-saving manner after transport. It is provided that the handle is formed by a handle part and a support plate connected to the handle part by webs. The handle part can be grasped from the outside, while the support plate extends inside the housing parts. The handle can also with the handle part when taking the inner end position in a through opening engage coaxial offset and be supported in the outer end position with the support plate on the underside edge surfaces of the through opening. It has proven to be expedient to make the handle against spring force convertible from the inner into the outer end position, so that when the handle is released, it is automatically returned to the interior of the housing parts.

In the figures, 1 denotes a housing for receiving a blower and heating register as well as switching and control elements (not shown). The housing 1 is formed by a prismatic front housing part 2 and a rear housing part 3 connected to it, for example by clamping means. The housing part 3 is truncated pyramid with decreasing cross-sectional size to the rear. In the heater case shown, the upright side walls 3 ', 3˝ have a number of spaced parallel strips 4, which preferably extend over the entire length of the side walls and form air channels 12 between them. With 5 supply air openings for blower air are referred to, which extend over a partial height of the side walls 3 ', 3˝ and through the strips 4th are spread. The upper side wall 6 of the housing part 3 also carries strips 4, it being possible to provide a supply air opening 5 in the side wall 6 and / or rear wall 13 which is overlapped by the strips 4. 7 with a spherical section-shaped foot part is designated as the carrier of the housing 1. The foot part 7 and the housing 1 are connected to one another in such a way that the housing 1 can be pivoted out of an upright position (FIG. 1) into a tilted position (FIG. 5). Furthermore, the housing 1 on the base part 7, as shown in FIG. 3, can be pivoted about the longitudinal axis of the housing. The combination of rotary and pivoting movements permits any orientation of the housing 1. 8 denotes a flap arranged in the front of the housing 1, which is held on the housing 1 so that it can pivot. Above the flap 8, a number of parallel flaps 9 are provided in the front of the housing 1, which can be moved about axes 11 from the position shown in FIG. 2 into the open position of FIG. 3 and close the housing 1 at the front or for passage of the Open fan exhaust. The housing part 1 can be designed as an exchangeable housing part, so that there is the possibility of designing it in different design variants. For this purpose, the housing part 1 can be designed, for example, as an arbitrarily colored plastic molded part. There is also the possibility of applying different types of lacquer layers. Static flocking is also provided as the coating. There is also the possibility of covering the housing part 1 with a layer formed by metal vapor deposition. In this way it is achieved that the housing 1 can be adapted to different uses by different housing parts 2.

The fan air flows to the fan 14 via the supply air openings 5. The fan air can be heated via an electrical heating register 15 and leaves the housing part 2 at the front via outlet openings 16. The housing part 3 accommodates plate-shaped air filters 17 on the inside, which extend over the supply air openings 5 and on the housing part 3, e.g. are fixed in slots of the housing part 3.

The air filter 17 are by mats 17 'of a porous, e.g. Textile material or a plastic formed and in the edge areas by a frame 17˝. The frame 17 'gives the air filter 17 sufficient stability, which facilitates the handling of the air filter 17 and prevents the air filter 17 from bending under the influence of the air flow. The air filters 17, as can be seen in FIGS. 3 and 6, are expediently arranged directly behind the supply air openings 5 in the housing part 3.

In the case of fan heaters, in which further side faces of the rear housing part 3 have supply air openings 5, these are also overlapped on the inside by air filters 17.

For the introduction of the air filter into the housing part 3, slot-shaped through openings (not shown) for inserting the air filter can be provided in the upper side or the rear of the housing part 3. The through openings can be closed by the frame of the air filter or covered by flaps or sliders. With 18 an optical display is designated, which serves as an automatic filter replacement display and, for example, due to the changing pressure conditions in the housing parts at longer Use of the air filter is controllable. An acoustic or optical or optical and acoustic display for filter change is also conceivable.

The front of the housing part 2 has a recess 20 below the exhaust air openings 16, in which a flap 22 is pivotally mounted by means of an axis 21 or stub axle. The flap 22 can be pivoted forward about the axis 21, as can be seen in FIGS. 3 and 4, out of the housing 1. The flap 22 can be designed as a hollow body and can accommodate a device 24 for the preselectable automatic switching on and off of the blower 14 or of the blower and the heating register 15. At 23 is an actuator, e.g. denotes an adjusting ring which, by turning, is able to enter setting values into the device 24. It is understood that the device 24 can be designed in any way as an analog device or as a digital device. The flap 22 has latching recesses 25 which, in cooperation with a latch body fixed to the housing (not shown), permit the flap 22 to be fixed in the outer and inner end positions.

To understand the function of the fan heater, it is assumed that the fan heater can be switched on and off in a manner known per se via actuating buttons (not shown) arranged on the housing 1. Irrespective of the actuation buttons and the switching operations thus effected, there is also the possibility of preselecting the device 24 by means of the actuators 23, 26 to activate and deactivate the automatic start-up and / or switch-off of the fan heater. When using an electronic time module as a preselection device, digital actuators 26 are provided as actuators, which are located in the front of the flap 22 are arranged. 27 denotes an optical display for the operating state of the device and 28 denotes a digital display arranged in the front of the flap 22 for preselected time periods.

Via the exhaust air openings 16 in the front housing part 2, the blower air can leave the housing 1 of the fan heater as cold air or heated air at the front. In the front of the housing part 2, a housing opening 29 is formed, which accommodates a number of air guide strips 30 that can be pivoted about vertical axes 31 next to one another. The air guide strips 30 are of the same width over their entire length and together form a front side section which closes the housing opening 29. The air guide strips 30 can be swiveled out of the closed position shown in FIG. 17 into open positions according to FIG. 18. The swiveling can be effected manually or by motor individually. In this way, it is possible to achieve partial openings in the front of the housing part 2 by pivoting individual air guide strips.

In FIG. 18, the air guide strips 30 are designed essentially with the cross section of a right-angled triangle, the end of the cross-sectional shape which is approximated to the right angle receiving the pivot axes 31.

In the exemplary embodiment in FIG. 19, adjacent air guide strips 30 have projections 33 which extend over the parting plane 32 and which dip into recesses 34 in the adjacent air guide strips 30. In this way, a largely tight seal of the housing opening 29 can be achieved by the air guide strips 30.

In FIG. 20, the air guide strips 30 are provided with cut-on lugs 34, to which a common actuating member 36 for the air guide strips 30 engage in the region of articulation points 35. By moving the actuator 36 simultaneous and uniform pivoting of the air guide strips 30 can be achieved.

The air duct 30 of FIG. 21 is provided with profilings 38 in the front, whereby stability improvements for the air duct 30 can be achieved.

Die so geschaffene Luftführungsleiste 30 ergibt einen Hohlkörper mit großer Stabilität.22, the air guide bar 30 is formed by interconnected halves 30 'and 30˝. The halves 30 'and 30˝ can be made as desired, for example by molding or extrusion. The air guide strip 30 thus created results in a hollow body with great stability.

In the embodiment of FIG. 23, the air guide strips 30 are provided with bends 39 and gates 40. The air guide strips 30 can be pivoted about axes 31 guided in the gates 40, while actuators 41 can act on the bends 39. The air guide strips 30 can be pivoted about their axes 31 by moving the actuating members 41 in the direction of the arrow. Finally, the air guide strips 30 can also be formed by halves 30 ', 30˝, which are firmly connected to one another via molded webs 42. The webs 42 form bending tabs and allow the halves 30 ', 30' to be folded over one another, which in a simple manner result in an air guide strip by subsequent gluing. It is also possible to shape the halves 30 'or 30˝ individually, for example by extrusion. Subsequent superimposition and welding of the halves makes it possible to achieve air duct strips.

Heizstufen wahlweise und kombiniert schaltbar.43 with a recess in the housing parts is referred to, which extends in the embodiment over the common parting plane of the two housing parts 2 and 3. Notwithstanding, the recess 43 can also be provided only in the housing part 2 or in the housing part 3. The recess 43 serves to receive a strip-shaped housing 44, the switching and regulating elements (not shown) for the electrical devices arranged in the fan heater housing 1, e.g. the motor 14 'of the fan 14 and the electric heating register 15 is used. The switching and control elements protrude with their actuating elements 46, 47, 48, 49 and 50 beyond the outer surface of the housing parts 2 and 3, which ensures simple and safe handling of the switching and control elements. The switching and control elements accommodated in the strip-shaped housing 44 are connected to the electrical devices via a cable harness (not shown) which has a number of electrical conductors. By handling the actuators, e.g. the blower motor as a multi-stage cold fan and various speeds for heating and ventilation or heating levels can be switched optionally and in combination.

At a distance from the recess 43, the rear housing part 3 has a feed-through opening 51, which is penetrated by a carrying handle 52, consisting of a handle part 53, holding webs 54 and support plate 55. The handle 52 can be pulled out of the housing 1 against spring force 56 and can be automatically returned to the inner starting position when released. The holding webs 54 are encompassed by the coil spring 56, which is on supports the support plate 55 and the underside of the rear housing part 3. The handle part 53 and the lead-through opening and a shoulder 57 are designed such that the handle part can be retracted in the inner end position.
