Befindet sich das eine von übereinander angeordneten Werkzeugen gebildete Werkzeugpaar durch Kippen des Blockes in die eine Stellung in Arbeitsstel­lung, befindet sich das in Bahnlaufrichtung daneben angeordnete Werkzeugpaar in Ausgangsstellung. Dieses in Ausgangsstellung befindliche Werkzeugpaar kann dann auf eine neue Position für eine nachfolgende Bearbeitung der Warenbahn eingestellt werden. Hierfür sind an jedem Block zwei Verstellspindeln für die zwei wechselweise in Arbeitsstellung überführbaren Werkzeuge vorhan­den. Bei dieser bekannten Längsschneide- und/oder Rillmaschine ist nicht vorgesehen, daß die Werkzeuge der Blöcke in gleicher Position wechselweise eingesetzt werden.
