Bei bekannten Überlastsicherungen für Kreisel­ pumpen wer den zur Messung der Temperatur Tempe­ raturmeßfühler eingesetzt, die direkt in das von der Pumpe geförderte Flüssigkeitsmedium eintauchen. Bei einer Abweichung der von den Temperaturmeßfühlern gemessenen Temperatur von einem vorgegebenen Temperatur-Soll-Wert wird über eine Verstelleinrichtung ein Auslaßventil geöffnet und/oder ein akustisches oder opti­ sches Signal ausgelöst oder der Pumpenantrieb abgeschaltet. Hierbei besteht insbesondere bei der Förderung von Flüssigkeiten mit chemisch aggressiven Stoffen und/oder abrasiven Fest­ stoffen die Gefahr daß die Temperaturmeßfühler sehr rasch zerstört werden und dadurch als Meß­ organe zur Erfassung der Betriebstemperatur ausfallen. Auch sind diese Überlastsicherungen im konstruktiven Aufbau verhältnismäßig kompli­ ziert. Erfindungsgemäß wird demgegenüber eine im konstruktiven Aufbau besonders einfache und stets funktionsfähige Überlastsicherung für Kreiselpumpen dadurch erreicht daß das Auslaß­ ventil (11) und die Temperaturmeßfühler (2, 3) in der Wandung (1) des Spiralgehäuses angeord­ net sind, wobei die Temperaturmeßfühler (2, 3) im Körper der Wandung (1) des Spiralgehäuses, und zwar mit Abstand (d) von der inneren Wand­ fläche (18) angeordnet sind.
