Abstract
Description
The invention relates to a fire-resistant cover, in particular for collecting basins made of rigid plates with breakthroughs and a layer consisting of a bulk material with low thermal conductivity.
In the chemical industry and the energy industry, the foundations of parts of the plant which contain combustible and toxic liquids are generally surrounded by a ring system of channel-shaped collecting basins in order to catch the escaping liquid in the event of a leak and to prevent damage to the environment. So the foundations of large transformers are generally surrounded by such catch basins, because large transformers contain up to 40 m³ the insulation of the live conductors and to dissipate the heat generated by heat dissipating transformer oil, which must never get into the ground.
In the event of a leak, large transformers are also at risk of fire due to the high output. To prevent the oil collected in the catch basin from igniting in the event of a fire, these are Basins covered with breakthrough plates, in particular with gratings, and covered with an approximately 20 cm thick layer of gravel or gravel. The keis layer allows the leakage oil to seep through, but its poor thermal conductivity prevents the temperature of the oil accumulated in the basin from rising above the flash point. Burning oil is also extinguished as it flows through the layer.
These covers have the disadvantage that during inspection or repair work on the catch basin or the foundations, the loose layer of gravel or crushed stone must be removed by a shovel and then reapplied. This is very time-consuming and therefore wage-intensive and often requires an increase in downtimes.
The invention is therefore based on the object of providing a cover which, on the one hand, reliably protects the accumulated liquid against ignition without hindering the outflow of the liquid, and on the other hand can be removed without great effort.
The solution to this problem is that a cover of the type mentioned according to the invention consists of individual cover elements from a breakthrough, rigid plate, in particular a grate, with a liquid-permeable, preferably box-shaped base with a filling of a bulk material with low thermal conductivity.
The box-shaped substructure can be made from perforated sheet metal and welded to a grating. The filling of the The box advantageously consists of foam glass granulate, which is characterized by low thermal conductivity and a comparatively low specific weight. The low specific weight of the foam glass granulate has the advantage compared to gravel that the weight of the individual cover elements is low and their handling is thereby improved.
Ein solches Schaumglas wird z.B. von der Firma Deutsche Pittburgh Corning GmbH unter dem Warenzeichen "Foamglas" vertrieben.Such a foam glass is e.g. distributed by Deutsche Pittburgh Corning GmbH under the trademark "Foamglas".
The box-shaped substructure can be provided on one side, for example a narrow side, with a detachable tab, which facilitates the filling of the box with the granulate. In another version, the box-shaped substructure consists of a drawer that can be moved in two guides arranged under the grating.
- Fig. 2 eine perspektivische Darstellung eines anderen Abdeckelements.
- Fig. 1 is a perspective view of a catch basin with a covering element, partly in section, and
- Fig. 2 is a perspective view of another cover element.
In the embodiment of the cover element shown in FIG. 2, two guides 9 are arranged under the
The cover according to the invention combines the advantage of good fire resistance with the advantage of easy disassembly.
