Abstract

For the purpose of taking preferably folded printed products in a continuous sequence, transport paths (e.g. 24) are provided which in each case run in looping manner over various planes (31 to 35). The transport paths (24) are divided into different, separately controllable block sections, so that the printed-product receiving devices (e.g. 25, 26) which run along them, each of which devices comprises at least one carriage (30) and a driving head (28), can be controlled independently of one another and can be fed to a printed-product delivery station (9 to 13), each of which is preferably in the form of a folding apparatus. The use of support structures (38, 39) in the said receiving devices (25, 26) which can be pushed together or apart makes it possible to receive products continuously and to feed them to specified storage regions of further processing stations (19 to 23). <IMAGE>

Description

Die Erfindung betrifft eine Vorrichtung zur Aufnahme, Speicherung und Weiterverarbeitung von Druckprodukten mit Transport- und Speichereinrichtungen. The invention relates to a device for receiving, storing and further processing printed products with transport and storage devices.

It is generally known to use transport devices, for example conveyor chains, conveyor belts or driverless industrial trucks for the transport of printed products. This requires a repeated transfer of the printed products from one transport or processing means to the other, the storage, in particular of a large number of printed products, having problems in terms of space requirements and access. These problems were exacerbated by the fact that the conventional transport devices usually run in a horizontal or horizontal plane. In addition, the conveyor chains or belts used to convey the printed products in the shingled stream are limited in length and transport speed. Fully automatic processing with such generally known systems is therefore not possible or is difficult to achieve.

The object of the invention is to create an individually controllable device for receiving and transporting printed products, which enables the use of a fully automatic, flexible conveyor system and with which high transport capacities and speeds can be achieved.

In diesen zeigen, jeweils vereinfacht bzw. schematisiert:

Fig. 1 shows the device according to the invention in connection with a printing press, which comprises the printing units 1 to 8. Each of the printing units 1 to 8 is assigned a folder, in the exemplary embodiment described here a double folder 9 to 13 is assigned. One of the loading stations 14 to 18 is assigned to each double folder 9 to 13. From each of these, the printed products are led to one of the storage and further processing stations 19 to 23. Corresponding transport tracks are preferably provided for this in different levels, of which a transport track 24 is indicated in FIG. 1. The individual printing units 1 to 8 or the double folders 9 to 13 are each connected to the storage and further processing stations 19 to by these transport tracks 23 connected. On each transport track, for example 24, two tracks 25 and 26 are preferably moved, each of which comprises a drive head 27 or 28 and coupled carriages 29 or 30 for each of the double folders 9 to 13.

In total, in the exemplary embodiment described here, the printing press or its printing units 1 to 8 convey ten products to the further processing stations 19 to 23 via ten webs.

As can be seen from FIG. 2, two tracks operate in the transport planes 31 to 35, which are indicated at 25 and 26 in FIG. 1 for the plane 31. The new printed products coming from the double folder 9 are fed via these, for example, to the storage and further processing station 23. While a train, e.g. 25, as indicated in Fig. 1, the other web, for example the web 26 in the assigned storage area, e.g. 23, are unloaded or are in the unloaded state in the position shown in FIG. 1 in the waiting position. With larger distances between the printing press and the finishing station, it is advisable to use more than two webs.

The loading process is described and illustrated in detail in patent applications P 36 21 820, P 36 21 832 by the same applicant. 2, cassettes 40 and 41 are loaded. 3 shows in a sectional view along the line AA of FIG. 2 how full cassettes 42 to 44 are conveyed upwards by vertical conveyors 45 in the direction of an arrow 46, while a conveyor 47 feeds empty cassettes 48 to 50 in the direction of an arrow 51 . Empty zigzag storage structures 52 are used for loading or 53 removed from the respective cassettes and the empty cassettes, for example 49 or 50, conveyed in the direction of an arrow 54 in order to assume the positions of the full cassettes 40 or 41 which previously indicated in the direction of an arrow 54 on the position of the cassettes 42 or 43 have been promoted. As can be seen from FIG. 2, the conveyors 45 or 47 raise or lower cassettes onto the level 31 or lower them. The corresponding conveyors for the other levels 32 to 35 at the loading stations 15 to 18 are extended to the respective conveying height and from the conveying levels 31 to 35, cassettes are pivoted in the direction of the transport level by devices not shown here, as indicated in FIG. 1 around 90 °. An empty cassette is thus removed from the conveyor, for example according to FIG. 1 of the transport conveyor 24, and a full cassette is loaded for it, after which it advances one carriage length to the next position. Each lane on each level is controlled independently of one another via a so-called block point operation, as is also known, for example, from rail technology. This is possible if the individual rail sections are divided and insulated from one another so that they can be connected to an electrical network independently of one another. However, other control technologies, for example with different frequencies, can also be used within the scope of the invention in order to enable individual control, one conveying level not being allowed to interfere with the other.

Die Welle 66 und das Kettenrad 70 sind in Lagerböcken 71, 72 und 73 gelagert.4 to 7 show the structure of a transport track in different views. 4, a cassette-receiving carriage 30 is connected in an articulated manner to a drive head 28 via a linkage 55. Full or empty cassettes (for example 56) can be positioned on the carriage 30, which cassettes can correspond to the cassettes 48 to 50 or the cassettes 42 to 44. The carriages 30 are provided with rollers 57 which run on rails 58, as shown in FIG. 6. FIG. 6 shows a section along the line BB of FIG. 4. During FIG. 5 shows the power head 28 enlarged. 7, on the other hand, shows a section along the line CC of FIG. 5. The drive head 28 also runs with its rollers 59 on the rails 58 and with its rollers 60 on rails 61. Guide rollers 62 take over the lateral guidance on the rails 61 It is advantageously driven by an electric motor 63 via pinion 64, a wheel 65 and a spur gear 67 connected to a shaft 66. From the spur gear 67, the drive further runs via a pinion 68 to a spur gear 69, which in turn is fixed a sprocket 70 is connected. The shaft 66 and the sprocket 70 are supported in bearing blocks 71, 72 and 73.

The sprocket 70 engages in a firmly installed roller chain 74 screwed to the rails 61 and drives a drive head 27 or 28 and thus respectively assigned path in the direction of an arrow 76 with a rotation in the direction of arrow 75.

The current draw for the electric motor 63 takes place via current collectors 77 from a conductor line 78. To bridge the individual separated or insulated rail sections, for example, the current collector can be fork-shaped, so that the transport of one block, i.e. from one rail section to another is possible.

With this design, the railway can overcome any distances and inclines. The roller chain 74 is preferably designed as a so-called “side arc roller chain” and can therefore also be laid in radii, that is to say curved. The conductor rail is divided into sections that are insulated from each other, each of which is electrically fed separately. As mentioned above, it is thus possible to control the trains or trains independently of one another in the individual sections. The compromised inclusion of printed copies in the memory structures 38, 39, which were described in detail in the patent application P 36 21 820, makes on the one hand a high one Railway speed and, on the other hand, high transport speeds and transport capacities, even over long distances.

Further processing systems 19 to 23 are described in detail in the PB 3445 and PB 3446 filed on the same day by the same applicant.
