Description

Es ist bekannt, in Gärtnereien oder Baumschulen gezogene Pflanzen mit einzeln in Beuteln aus Folie verpackten Ballen zu versenden um zu verhindern, daß die Wurzeln der Pflanzen beim Versand Schaden erleiden. Diese Aufgabe ist erfindungsgemäß bei einem Versandbehälter der eingangs genannten Art dadurch gelöst, daß der den Wurzelballen aufnehmende Beutel aus schrumpffähiger Folie ausgebildet und im Bereich zwischen den Pflanzentrieben und den Wurzelballen mit einem diesen Bereich nach einem örtlich begrenzten Schrumpfprozeß eng umhüllenden Schrumpfverschluß versehen ist.This object is achieved in a shipping container of the type mentioned above in that the bag receiving the root ball is made of shrinkable film and in the area between the plant shoots and the root ball is provided with a shrink seal that envelops this area after a localized shrinking process.

Der Beutel 4 besteht aus in Hitze schrumpfbarer Folie und ist nach dem Einbringen des Wurzelballens 2 in einem eng begrenzten Bereich zwischen den Pflanzentrieben 1 und dem Wurzelballen 2 durch einen Schrumpfverschluß 5 verschlossen worden. Der Schrumpfverschluß 5 ist durch gezieltes Aufblasen von Heißluft auf die Folie auf den genannten Bereich hergestellt worden.
