Definitions
- the invention is based on a compact reflector lamp with a discharge vessel squeezed on one side according to the preamble of claim 1.
- Such a lamp with metal halide filling is known from DE-OS 29 24 463. It is a high-power lamp (200 W) for projection purposes, the reflector diameter of which is of the order of 60 mm.
- the lamp fill must be chosen so that "white” light is generated. This means a color temperature in the order of approx. 5000 K (cf. e.g. also EP-PA 81 104 937).
- the color temperature is a function of the lamp's performance and heat balance.
- the color impression of a lamp results from the superposition of the mercury emission lines and the emission lines of the added metal halides. The latter depend sensitively on the vapor density in the discharge vessel.
- a filling with a low vapor density of the metal halides is sufficient for a high color temperature, since their emission is to a considerable extent in the long-wave range of the visible spectrum and, at a high color temperature, the focus of the emission spectrum of the filling is more in the short-wave range.
- a color temperature which is significantly lower than that of projection lamps is desirable. It should be around 3500 K. With regard to the filling, this corresponds to a comparatively high vapor density of the metal halides, corresponding to an increased proportion of the long-wave radiation in the emission spectrum.
- DE-OS 28 40 771 It is a two-sided squeezed discharge vessel, which is arranged axially in an outer bulb shaped as a reflector.
- the thermal insulation achieved in this way is additionally reinforced by an open cylindrical tube which surrounds the discharge vessel within the outer bulb and which is supported by a complicated frame structure. This structure is technically very complex and therefore associated with high costs.
- the lamp also has a high weight and a large installation depth.
- the object of the present invention is to provide a generic reflector lamp with simple means, the color temperature of which is so low that it can be used for room lighting. At the same time, this lamp should have a simple structure and a small installation depth.
- the tube surrounding the discharge vessel acts as a heat accumulator that prevents convection. Its particularly high effectiveness is based on the fact that both ends of the tube are closed. At the base end, this is achieved by resting on the reflector base, at the end remote from the base either by a special end piece which simultaneously forms the cap of a handle cap (DE-GM 83 10 715) or by the end remote from the base being shaped into a dome. Furthermore, the thermal insulation can be improved by a cover pane and / or by interfering layers. A particularly high luminous efficacy can be achieved when using a facet reflector.
- Figure 1 shows a compact reflector lamp of low power (approx. 35 - 70 W). It consists of a squeezed ellipsoid-like discharge vessel 1 made of quartz glass, which is arranged axially in a light metal reflector 2 made of thin, approximately 0.8 mm thick sheet of pure aluminum with anodized parabolic inner surface. The inner surface is composed of a variety of facets.
- the reflector diameter is approx. 80 mm.
- Two electrode shafts 4 are parallel to the lamp axis in the pinch 3 of the discharge vessel Molybdenum foils 5 melted down vacuum-tight.
- the electrode tips 6 are angled transversely to the lamp axis.
- the inner volume of the discharge vessel 1 is filled with mercury and additions of halides of Na, Sn and Tl. Ar serves as the ignition gas.
- the lamp current is approx. 0.5 - 1.0 amperes.
- External power supply lines 7 are connected to the molybdenum foils 5.
- the apex of the reflector 2 there is a circular opening 8, which covers a base stone 9 made of temperature-resistant material, for example ceramic, placed on the back (DE-GM 83 10 715).
- the base stone 9, the raised central piece 10 of which passes through the opening 8, is essentially cuboid.
- the center piece 10 is equipped with a central opening 10 'for carrying out the power supply lines 7.
- the base stone 9 is adapted with its bearing surface to the course of the reflector curvature from the outside and has four slots (not visible) which are slid over four tabs (not visible) are, which are molded onto the reflector in its apex area.
- the protruding tab ends are twisted to fasten the base stone 9.
- the power supply lines 7 of the lamp are held by solid contact lugs 11 which are riveted to the base stone 9 on the back. They protrude into the central rectangular opening 10 'of the base stone and there have eyelets 12 for contacting the power supplies 7.
- the angled ends 13 of the contact lugs 11 are shaped into flat plugs, which enable connection to known socket systems. Alternatively, a connection via clamping screws 13 'located on the contact lugs is possible.
- the discharge vessel is closely surrounded by a cylindrical tube 14 made of tempered glass. It is coated with a known coating of indium and tin oxide (ITO layer), which is transparent to visible radiation, but reflects the heat radiation.
- ITO layer indium and tin oxide
- the end 15 of the tube remote from the base is formed into a dome which is mirrored and thus serves to shield the direct radiation.
- the base end 16 of the tube is open. It lies along the apex opening 8 on the inner surface of the reflector 2 and is fastened to the rounded flank of the center piece 10 of the base stone protruding through the apex opening by means of putty.
- the light exit opening 17 of the reflector is provided with a cover plate 18.
- the pitot tube 14 lies with its tip 15 directly on the cover plate 18. At the base end 16 of the pitot tube 14 presses a resilient metal ring 16a (leaf spring or spring ring), which is supported on the reflector base, the pitot tube 14 against the cover plate 18.
- the center piece 10 'of the base stone is for better guidance of the pitot tube 14 to the pinch 3 of Lamp pulled up.
- FIG. 2 Another exemplary embodiment is shown in FIG. 2.
- the structure of the reflector lamp is essentially the same as in FIG. 1, the same features being denoted by the same reference numbers.
- the cylindrical pitot tube 19 is made of quartz glass and has no additional coating.
- the base-side end 20 lies only on the inner surface of the reflector.
- the reflector is with a handle panel 21 made of high temperature resistant plastic.
- the handle panel 21 consists of a piece of flack 22 which spans the arch of the light exit opening of the reflector and is attached to two opposite slots in the reflector by means of tabs 23 and brackets 23 '.
- the flat piece 22 is equipped in the middle with a hemispherical dome 24 which shields the direct radiation of the lamp.
- An annular bead 25 with a slot runs around the inside of the spherical cap and is axially aligned.
- the end 26 of the pitot tube 19 remote from the base is fitted into this slot, so that the pitot tube is mechanically fixed in a simple manner between the reflector base and the cap 24.
- the handle panel 27 is made from a metallic stamped part (made from anodized aluminum).
- the simple hemispherical dome 28 is dimensioned such that its outer diameter is adapted to the inner diameter of the pitot tube 29.
- the end 30 of the pitot tube which is remote from the base, lies against the calotte 28 on the outside.
- a compressible ring 32 (made of plastic or rubber-like material) or a metallic leaf spring or a spring ring is fitted between the pitot tube end 30 and the flat piece 31 of the grip panel. It is used to seal and compensate for thermal expansion.
- the pitot tube 29 can be provided with an ITO layer, depending on which color temperature is desired (see table).
- a simple metal oxide layer a combination of several layers with alternating high and low refractive index (interference filter) can be used. For example, you can SiO2 and Ta2O5 layers are used.
- the table below shows the influence of the pitot tube on the operating data of the reflector lamp R. It shows the color index Ra, the color temperature Tn (in K) and the luminous efficacy LA (lm / W) for a 35 W lamp.
- the table shows that with the pitot tube a color improvement of - 500 K and more can be achieved.
- a coated pitot tube Tn ⁇ 3500 K
- an uncoated pitot tube Tn ⁇ 4000 K
- a pitot tube also allows further properties of the reflector lamps to be optimized. If a tube made of tempered glass is used, the UV emission of the lamp is particularly prevented. The coating of the pitot tube can be chosen so that additional color effects are achieved (targeted change of light color). Abstract
Description
The invention is based on a compact reflector lamp with a discharge vessel squeezed on one side according to the preamble of
Such a lamp with metal halide filling is known from DE-OS 29 24 463. It is a high-power lamp (200 W) for projection purposes, the reflector diameter of which is of the order of 60 mm. The lamp fill must be chosen so that "white" light is generated. This means a color temperature in the order of approx. 5000 K (cf. e.g. also EP-PA 81 104 937).
Generally, the color temperature is a function of the lamp's performance and heat balance. The color impression of a lamp results from the superposition of the mercury emission lines and the emission lines of the added metal halides. The latter depend sensitively on the vapor density in the discharge vessel. A filling with a low vapor density of the metal halides is sufficient for a high color temperature, since their emission is to a considerable extent in the long-wave range of the visible spectrum and, at a high color temperature, the focus of the emission spectrum of the filling is more in the short-wave range.
On the one hand, to be able to use reflector lamps with metal halide filling for room lighting a very low output, on the other hand a color temperature which is significantly lower than that of projection lamps is desirable. It should be around 3500 K. With regard to the filling, this corresponds to a comparatively high vapor density of the metal halides, corresponding to an increased proportion of the long-wave radiation in the emission spectrum.
Since such lamps for room lighting should only have a low power consumption (approx. 35 - 70 W), the maintenance of a correspondingly high vapor density of the metal halides, e.g. of sodium, because of the disproportionately increasing loss mechanisms. While the use of metal halide fillings is possible without additional aids for reflector lamps for projection purposes even at low power, the vapor density that can be achieved with them is not sufficient for room lighting purposes.
In order to nevertheless be able to realize reflector lamps with metal halide filling for the purposes of room lighting, another, but considerably more complex, solution has been proposed (DE-OS 28 40 771). It is a two-sided squeezed discharge vessel, which is arranged axially in an outer bulb shaped as a reflector. The thermal insulation achieved in this way is additionally reinforced by an open cylindrical tube which surrounds the discharge vessel within the outer bulb and which is supported by a complicated frame structure. This structure is technically very complex and therefore associated with high costs. The lamp also has a high weight and a large installation depth.
The object of the present invention is to provide a generic reflector lamp with simple means, the color temperature of which is so low that it can be used for room lighting. At the same time, this lamp should have a simple structure and a small installation depth.
This object is achieved in a generic lamp by the characterizing features of
The tube surrounding the discharge vessel acts as a heat accumulator that prevents convection.
The obvious solution to the above problem, namely to insert a metal halide lamp with an outer bulb (DE-OS 32 32 207) squeezed on one side into a reflector, fails because of the lack of compactness. The apex opening and the installation depth of this reflector lamp would be considerably larger. In addition, the desired beam angle of the reflector (3 - 30 °) would no longer be observed. However, the heat-insulating measures make it possible to use the discharge vessel and the filling of metal halide lamps known per se.
Three embodiments of this lamp will be described in more detail below.

Der Reflektordurchmesser beträgt ca. 80 mm.Figure 1 shows a compact reflector lamp of low power (approx. 35 - 70 W). It consists of a squeezed ellipsoid-
Two
In the apex of the
The protruding tab ends are twisted to fasten the
The discharge vessel is closely surrounded by a
Alternatively, another attachment (Fig. 4) is also possible. The
Another exemplary embodiment is shown in FIG. 2. The structure of the reflector lamp is essentially the same as in FIG. 1, the same features being denoted by the same reference numbers. However, the
The base-
In a third exemplary embodiment, which largely corresponds to that shown in FIG. 2, the
The use of a pitot tube also allows further properties of the reflector lamps to be optimized. If a tube made of tempered glass is used, the UV emission of the lamp is particularly prevented. The coating of the pitot tube can be chosen so that additional color effects are achieved (targeted change of light color). Finally, the pitot tube offers the additional advantage of acting as protection in the event of an explosion of the discharge vessel.
