Description

The subject of the present invention is a watch comprising an oscillating rotary mass producing the energy necessary for the movement to run, pivoted in the center of the movement.

Such watches are known. Their oscillating rotary mass is used, most generally, for winding the mainspring and, in the case of electronic watches, can be used to drive the rotor of a current generator capable of charging an accumulator or a capacitor supplying the motor energy ensuring the movement's movement.

In watches with known oscillating rotating mass, the rotating mass is most generally placed at the periphery of the movement, the arm which connects this peripheral part to the center of rotation passing under the movement, on the bridge side thereof, between the bottom of the case and the movement.

The object of the present invention is to provide a new construction of such a watch, more particularly the mounting of the oscillating rotary mass thereof, which is both compact and robust, and which, moreover, allows a easy connection between the mass and the gear train leading to the organ that it must drive.

This object is achieved by the means defined in claim 1.

The drawing represents, by way of example, an embodiment of the subject of the invention.
  • Fig. 1 is a plan view of a wristwatch.
  • Fig. 2 is a section of the movement of this watch, passing through the center thereof, on a larger scale.
  • Fig. 3 is a section through the peripheral part of the movement of the watch in FIG. 1, also on a larger scale, and
  • Fig. 4 is a plan view of a detail of this watch, also on a larger scale.

The wristwatch shown, generally designated by 1, comprises a movement 2 housed in a sealed box comprising a case back 3 and a crystal 4 engaged in the peripheral part 3 a of the case back, constituting the body of box itself.

This watch being electronic, it does not have a winding member but, on the other hand, includes a time-setting member constituted by a ring 5, visible in FIG. 3, articulated on a part 6 which it serves to drive in rotation, and which can either occupy the position shown, in which it is folded into a recess 7 in the backband 3, or occupy a raised position allowing its actuation.

The rotor of this generator, designated by 8 (fig. 2) is actuated by an oscillating rotary mass pivoted in the center of the movement, shown in detail in fig. 4, which comprises a massive peripheral part 9, in the form of a ring segment, and an arm 10 connecting this peripheral part 9 to the pivot center of said mass. The peripheral part 9 is located, as shown in fig. 3, between the periphery of the movement 2 and the middle part 3 a . As for the arm 10, in an arc, it is arranged so as to appear as being in the extension of the peripheral part 9. This arm 10 is located above the watch face, designated by 11.

This dial 11 is relatively thick and serves as a mass support board; it is fixed to the frame of the movement 2 using three screws 12 visible in FIG. 1. This board 11 has a central part 11 a set back from its general plane (fig. 2), itself provided, in its center, with a collar 11 b on which the inner ring is driven, designated by 13, a ball bearing whose outer ring, designated by 14, carries, driven on it, the link arm 10 of the oscillating rotary mass. It should be noted that the outer ring 14 of ball bearing 14 is cut in a manner that constitutes a pinion and integral with the mass which forms the first element of a gear train driving the rotor 8 of the current generator.

The central collar 11b of the plate 11 forming the dial-mass support is crossed by the barrels supporting the hands of the watch, generally designated by 15 (FIG. 2). The hour circle, designated by 16 in fig. 1, is not located at the periphery of the dial, but at the center of the latter, the date hands of hours and minutes, designated by 17, 18 and 19, respectively, being dimensioned, in length, so as to correspond to this central dial. Thus the peripheral part of the dial, swept by the part 9 of the mass, is free from any indication.

The support plate 11 for the rotary oscillating mass is pierced with a hole 20 (fig. 2) in which is housed a pinion 21 engaged with a pinion 22 mounted on the shaft, designated by 23, of the rotor 8 of the generator . This pinion 21 is itself in engagement with the toothing 14a of the outer ring 14 of the ground roll. As shown in fig. 2, the meshing of the pinion 21 and the teeth 14 a is carried out over part of their height only, the bearing being accommodated in a recess 24 that cleaning on the outer face of the board 11, its central portion 11a set back; the pinion 21 is housed substantially in the thickness of this board 11.

It should be noted that the pinion 21 is visible, as shown in FIG. 1, as well as the central bearing supporting the oscillating rotary mass.

The different parts of the clockwork, some of which are visible in fig. 2, will not be described here, being known per se.
