Description

The invention relates to a device for receiving substantially rectangular single sheets according to the preamble of claim 1.

Such a device is known from WO-A-8801599. This device is used to receive single sheets which are successively fed to a container and stored therein. The respective single sheet is held by a device arranged in front of the insertion opening of the container and is pressed into the container with a curvature by a slide which is adjustable in the direction of the insertion opening. The device comprises feed rollers between which the cut sheet is held. In order to convey both ends of the single sheet evenly during the forward movement of the slide, further devices for clamping the single sheet on the slide are provided. The feed takes place successively sheet by sheet.

It is an object of the invention to provide a simply constructed device with which the feeding of single sheets can take place at high speed.

This object is achieved by the features of patent claim 1.

In the solution according to the invention, sheet by sheet is therefore not introduced into the container. It would hardly be possible to bring the sheets arriving at high speed into the container in such a way that they then form an orderly stack. If there is enough play to individually insert the sheets into the container, this also means that the sheets can fall over or slip. If there is not enough play, the sheets do not slide through to the bottom of the container, but remain attached to one another and can then no longer be arranged. In the solution according to the invention, on the other hand, a stack is first formed on the stack support surface in front of the container, where the sheets can still be arranged. The ordered stack is then pushed with the slide into the opening which is too small for the respective stack of sheets, so that the stack of sheets is curved in at least one direction. The stack of sheets extends again behind the insertion opening, whereupon the sheets stand firmly and in an orderly stack in the container.

For the use of the same containers in a sheet dispenser, it is expedient if the insertion opening is not smaller than the sheet size. In order not to have to change the container, it is therefore expedient if one of the edges delimiting the insertion opening and oriented parallel to the axis of curvature of the respective stack of sheets is connected to the stack support surface. At the same time, this edge can serve as a contact surface for the stack to be formed on the stack support surface. To adjust the device to different blade heights To be able to, it is useful if the stack support surface is arranged height-adjustable together with this edge.

The stacking device preferably comprises two stacking wheels, known per se, arranged at an axial distance from one another, between which the slide is arranged. In a preferred embodiment, the slide is formed by a pressure plate which is adjustable via a linkage. This linkage can be folded to save space, so that even with a large stroke of the slide, only a small space is required for the adjusting device of the slide.

In order to arrange the sheets in the stack not only in the vertical direction but also in the lateral direction, certain aligning steps are provided according to the invention on both sides of the stack support surface for contacting the stack side surfaces. These can be formed by roller-shaped elements, which can be rotated in opposite directions about an axis perpendicular to the sheet plane of the sheets standing on the stack support surface, the direction of rotation preferably being selected such that the sheets are pressed against the stack support surface. These aligning elements cause the sheets to be pushed all the way into the stack and aligned so that their lateral edges form a uniform sheet stacking surface. The roller-shaped elements can have a surface made of a soft, elastic material, for example an open-cell foam. In a preferred embodiment, the alignment members are formed by brush rollers.

So that the sheet stack can be pushed far enough into the container by the slide to allow the stack to be stretched, the sheets already stacked within the container not being allowed to fall over, it is provided according to the invention that a pressure plate supporting the stack of sheets within the container coexists the movement of the slide is adjustable. This adjustment can be carried out by a drive device or else in that the pressure plate is adjusted against spring force by the slide pushing the leaves into the container.

In FIG. 1, 10 denotes the safe of an automatic banknote input device, which includes a schematically indicated checking unit 12 for the banknotes and a number of cassettes 14 in which the banknotes found to be in order in the checking unit can be stored. Beneath the banknote cassettes 14 there is a cassette 16 in which the banknotes are stored which, for whatever reason, are not intended to be reissued and therefore are not stored in the banknote cassettes 14. A transport path, generally designated 18, is used to transport the banknotes from the checking unit 12 to the cassettes 14 and 16, from which the banknotes are each fed via switches 20 to the storage device 22 assigned to each cassette 14, which are now described in detail with reference to FIGS. 2 and 3 is explained in more detail.

Durch eine Höhenverstellung der Stapelplattform 30 kann die Höhe der Einführöffnung 34 so eingestellt werden, daß sie geringer ist als die in der gleichen Richtung gemessene Breite der einzuführenden Geldscheine 42.FIG. 2 shows a section of the transport path 18 with a switch 20 and a sheet conveyor 24, which feeds the banknotes arriving via the switch to two stacking wheels 26, which are rotatably supported at an axial distance from one another about an axis 28 perpendicular to the plane of the drawing (see also FIG. 3) ). The frame parts in which the shaft of the stacking wheels 26 is mounted are not shown. The stacking wheels 26 engage in recesses of a stacking platform 30 which is directed parallel to the bottom 32 of the cassette 14 and has an upstanding edge 36 at its end facing the insertion opening 34 of the cassette 14, which ends in an inclined surface 38 pointing towards the insertion opening 34. The stacking platform 30 is height-adjustable in the direction of the double arrow B, not shown. The upper edge of the insertion opening 34 is delimited by a bar 40 which is part of the cassette 14. By adjusting the height of the stacking platform 30, the height of the insertion opening 34 can be adjusted so that it is less than the width of the banknotes 42 to be inserted measured in the same direction.

Axially outside of the stacking wheels 26, two foam or brush rollers 44 are rotatably mounted above the stacking platform 30 on shafts 46 perpendicular to the front of the cassette 14. The shafts 46 are adjustably mounted on a frame part 48 in the direction of the double arrow C, so that the mutual distance between the two rollers can be adjusted to the respective width of the bank notes 42 to be stacked on the stacking platform 30. The rollers 44 have the task of aligning them in the lateral direction by grinding the lateral edges of the banknotes 42, the rollers 44 also being able to be mounted eccentrically or shaking in order to shift the banknotes 42 on the stacking platform 30 in the lateral direction. The rollers 44 preferably rotate in opposite directions so that they press the banknotes 42 against the stacking platform 30. The rollers 44 can be driven in any manner and are derived, for example, from the stacking wheel drive via a belt drive (not shown).

Arranged between the stacking wheels 26 is a slide, generally 48, which is adjustable perpendicular to the front of the cassette 14. This consists of a pressure plate 50, which with the help of two generally 52 and the designated toggle lever 54 is adjustable between the first position represented by solid lines in FIG. 3 and the second position represented by dash-dotted lines. The toggle levers 52, 54 each consist of two levers 56, 58 which are connected to one another in an articulated manner at their one end and are articulated with their free ends on the one hand on the pressure plate 50 and on the other hand on the frame part 49. The toggle levers are adjusted with the aid of a crank disk 60 which carries a pin 62 which engages in a slot 64 formed in the lever 58. If the crank disk is rotated clockwise from the position shown in FIG. 3, the lever 58 is also pivoted clockwise, so that the pressure plate 50 is moved in the direction of the insertion opening 34 of the cassette 14. The pressure plate 50 is pulled back again by the reverse rotation of the crank disk 60.

If there is a stack of sheets on the stacking platform 30 during the movement of the printing plate 50 in the direction of the cassette 14, it is pushed through the insertion opening 34, the stack curving around the printing plate 50 because the edge 36 on the one hand and the bar 40 on the other hand hold back the edges of the leaves. At the same time, the stack 66 already in the cassette 14 is displaced in the direction of arrow D with a pressure plate 68 supporting it. When the slider 48 has pressed the banknote packet so far into the container 14 that the bent edges of the banknote packet or stack can stretch again, the pressure plate 68 pushes the entire stack 66 against the direction of arrow D in the direction of the insertion opening again by spring force 34 where the stack is held by the top and bottom edge of the cassette.
