Claims (6)

1. A method of mounting a print head (10) on the print head carriage of a printer, comprising a carrier part (20) having a pring head holder (22, 24) comprising a abutment surfaces for the print head (10), and tensioning means (32) for pressing the print head (10) against the abutment surfaces, the tensioning means comprising two tensioning levers (32) mounted on both sides of the print head holder (22, 24) on the carrier part (20) for pivoting between a release position and a locking position and each comprising a tensioning arm (46) intended to engage behind a tentioning surface (16) on the print head (10), characterised in that the tensioning levers (32) are each mounted pivotally, by a bearing arm (38) forming an angle with the tensioning arm (46), in a bearing fork (30) of the carrier part (20) securable on the print head carriage, the bearing arm (38) carrying a bearing pin adapted to clip a U-shaped bearing slot (42) in the carrier part (20), and in that a nose (50) provided with ramp surfaces (52) is formed on each arm (48) connected to the carrier part (20), said nose extending parallel to the bearing spindle (40) into the pivoting path of the tensioning lever (32) and its distance from the bearing spindle (40) of the associated tensioning lever (32) being greater than the distance between the tensioning arm (46) and the bearing spindle (40), the tensioning lever (32) comprising a grip arm (44) which continues the bearing arm (38) beyond the tensioning arm (46) and which, in the locking position of the associated tensioning lever (32), engages behind the associated nose (50).
2. Apparatus according to claim 1, characterised in thats the tensioning arm (46) is so oriented relatively to the bearing arm (38) and the grip arm (44) of the associated tensioning lever (32) that in the locking position of the tensioning lever (32) it bears against the tensioning surface (16) of the print head (10) with prestressing.
3. Apparatus according to claim 1 or 2, characterised in that the tensioning levers (32) are made in one piece from a material which is at least slightly elastically deformable.
4. Apparatus according to any one of claims 1 to 3, characterised in that a cam surface (54) is formed on the bearing arm (38) of the associated tensioning lever (32) and in the locking position bears against an abutment surface of the bearing fork of the carrier part.
5. Apparatus according to any one of claims 1 to 4, characterised in that at least one adjustment element (26) is formed on the carrier part (20) and is intended to engage a companion element (28) on the print head (10).
6. Apparatus according to any of claims 1 to 5, characterised in that the tensioning levers (32) are identically shaped.
