Eine normale Palettenbodengröße kann beispielsweise 3 x 4 Spulensäulen 6 aufnehmen und eine Größe von etwa 600 x 800 mm besitzen. Claims (12)

  1. A method of damping or moistening cross-wound bobbins (4) combined in groups to form columns (6) of bobbins, a pallet bottom (1) being filled with bobbin columns (6) comprising steam permeable perforated bobbin sleeves (12) and in which, whenever a pallet is completed, each of the cross-wound bobbins (4) is steamed from the inside out-wardly by connection of the sleeve interior of all the bobbin columns (6) to a pressurised steam supply line (2), characterised in that the bobbin columns (6) are altogether compressed in the direction of the bobbin or column axes while positioned on the pallet bottom (1) and are then, while in the compressed state, fixed altogether by being steamed and in that the cross-wound bobbins (4) are packed in a disposition corresponding to the arrangement in which they were situated on the pallet bottom (1).
  2. A method according to claim 1, characterised in that the cross-wound bobbins (4) in bobbin columns (6) are fitted onto perforated rods (3) combined with the pallet bottom (1) and in that the steam supply line (2) is connected to the rods (3).
  3. A method according to claim 1 or 2, characterised in that the cross-wound bobbins (4) are welded into foil.
  4. A method according to claim 3, characterised in that the group of bobbin columns (6) formed on the pallet bottom (1) and steamed are packaged altogether, possibly after withdrawal of the perforated rods (3).
  5. A method according to one of claims 1 to 4, characterised in that the group of bobbin columns (6) steamed on the pallet bottom (1) are packaged together with the bottom and with another bottom which is used as a cover (8).
  6. A method according to claim 2, characterised in that the individual bobbin columns (6) are removed from the pallet bottom (1) and are packaged, being in particular welded into a foil (10).
  7. A method according to one of claims 1 to 6, characterised in that the cross-wound bobbins (4) are automatically and in one process removed from the bobbin forming machine, placed on the pallet bottom (1), steamed - possibly while axial pressure is applied - and are finally packaged ready for despatch.
  8. An apparatus for carrying out the method according to one of claims 1 to 7, characterised in that the pallet bottom (1) is itself constructed as a pressing plate and in that there is associated with the pallet bottom (1) a back-pressing plate for simultaneously axially compressing all the bobbin columns placed on the pallet bottom.
  9. An apparatus according to claim 8, characterised in that on the surface of the pallet bottom (1), at the same distance between centres as the bobbin columns (6), there are pressurised steam connections (5) to the pressurised steam supply line (2).
  10. An apparatus according to claim 9, characterised in that each of the pressurised steam connections (5) is at the same time constructed as a bobbin push-on rod (3) and as a steaming lance.
  11. An apparatus according to claim 10, characterised in that the push-on rods (3) which are constructed as steaming lances are fitted through respective apertures in the pallet bottom (1) and can be separated by a simple relative movement.
  12. An apparatus according to claim 10, characterised by push-on rods (3) which are individually screwed onto the pressurised steam connections (5).
