Description

GB-A-688.641).The invention relates to a carousel according to the preamble of claim 1 (see e.g. GB-A-688.641).

It is known from this to design a carousel with two floors, that is to say with two concentric turntables arranged one above the other and rotating together. The turntables are suspended from overhead holding arms which are mounted radially in the manner of a spoke on a circumferential hub of a central mast of an appropriate height. The two-storey arrangement of the two turntables, taking into account the necessary standing height including the required amount of headroom and safety clearance upwards, between the lower turntable and the upper turntable as well as between the upper turntable and the radial support arms arranged overhead, results in a corresponding overall height of such a two-story carousel.

DE-A-2.107.317).It is also known to assemble transportable carousels on your own chassis and on both sides of the Turning disc segments located in the longitudinal axis of the chassis into an approximately vertical transport position can be folded or removed in order to bring the carousel into a transportable state without excessive dismantling work, with a width reduced to the requirements of road transport, so that the carousel can then be transported simply by attaching it to a towing vehicle can (see e.g. DE-A-2.107.317).

In the case of simple carousels with only one turntable, the transportability or the operability after a transport can be established relatively quickly and easily in this way. In known double-story carousels, however, this fails because of the large overall height of these carousels, which exceeds the usual clearance height under bridges and underpasses and would also require a center of gravity that is too high during transport. Therefore, in known double-story carousels there is nothing left but to completely dismantle the radial holding arms and at least partially dismantle the mast with its struts necessary at the required height in order to establish the transportability, so that in any case extensive and experience takes several days when changing location increasing dismantling and reconstruction work are inevitable.

The invention is based on the object of constructing a double-decker carousel or a carousel having turntables arranged in at least two floors in such a way that when the location changes for the production of the transport state from the operating state and for the restoration of the operating state after transport, much less assembly work is required.

This object is achieved according to the invention by the construction characterized in claim 1.

The construction according to the invention makes it possible to arrange the hub in a double-story carousel approximately at the height of the upper turntable, i.e. only approximately at the level of the storey above the lower turntable, and the L-shaped angled holding arms are vertical between their operating position, in which the then approximately horizontal legs again run approximately at storey height above the upper turntable, can be swiveled vertically down into a transport position in which the legs that strive upwards in the operating position are approximately horizontal and the legs that project approximately horizontally in the operating position, and in addition the holding arms can also be pivoted horizontally with the Hub connected so that the holding arms can also be pivoted into a transport position approximately parallel to the longitudinal axis of the chassis, in such a way that then about half the number of holding arms points to the rear and the other half number of holding arms points to the front, based on the vehicle chassis longitudinal axis.

In the construction according to the invention, the holding arms do not need to be removed during the transition from the operating position to the transport position, but are only brought into their transport position by loosening corresponding locks or locks by horizontal pivoting into a position approximately parallel to the longitudinal axis of the chassis and by vertical tilting . The transition from the transport position to the operating position takes place accordingly. No assembly work is required on the mast itself, apart from the vertical mast extension, which is usually used to brace the holding arms, as is also available with conventional double-deck carousels, but which does not cause any difficulties. The actual part of the mast with the hub which transmits the carousel drive has only one ratio in the construction according to the invention moderately low overall height, which poses no difficulties for bridges and underpasses.

Vorteilhafte Ausgestaltungen der Erfindung sind Gegenstand der Unteransprüche.Advantageous embodiments of the invention are the subject of the dependent claims.

The carousel construction according to the invention thus enables a much faster change of location than conventional double-story carousel constructions, since the assembly effort required for producing the transportability and the restoration of operability in the carousel according to the invention only requires a time required which is several days shorter than that of conventional double-story carousel constructions, and thus the ratio of Operating times of the carousel during conversion and transport times and thus the economic profit of the carousel operation can be significantly improved.

In den Zeichnungen zeigt:An exemplary embodiment is shown in schematic form in the accompanying drawings and is briefly explained below. In the drawings:

Fig. 1 das Karussell in Seitenansicht, Fig. 2 eine Draufsicht auf die Nabe mit den radialen Haltearmen, Fig. 3 das in den Transportzustand gebrachte Karussell in Stirnansicht, und Fig. 4 eine Variante des oberen Teils des in Fig. 1 dargestellten Karussells mit einer dritten Drehscheibe (dreistöckiges Karussell).1 shows the carousel in a side view, FIG. 2 shows a top view of the hub with the radial holding arms, FIG. 3 shows the carousel brought into the transport state in a front view, and FIG. 4 shows a variant of the upper part of the carousel shown in FIG. 1 a third turntable (three-story carousel).

All insignificant and known details have been omitted from the drawings in order to be able to more clearly illustrate the design concept according to the invention.

Fig. 1 shows the carousel in the operating state in a side view. The carousel is on one Chassis 1 mounted with appropriate supports 2. On the chassis 1, the drive unit 3 of the carousel is constructed with a rotary driven mast 4, which carries a hub 5. The double-decker carousel has two concentric turntables, namely a lower turntable 6 and an upper turntable 7, which can be connected to one another by struts, stairs, etc. and are arranged together on hanging arms 8. The holding arms 8 are designed as approximately L-shaped angled arms and each have an upwardly striving leg 8a connected to the hub 5 and an approximately horizontally extending leg 8b. When the carousel is in operation, the turntables 6 and 7 suspended on it are rotated together by means of the spoke arms arranged radially on the hub 5.

In their operating position, the holding arms 8 are braced by approximately horizontal tension struts 9, which are aligned with the approximately horizontal legs 8b, and by means of bracing with the tip of a mast extension 4a.

The holding arms 8 are each connected to the hub 5 both vertically pivotable and horizontally pivotable. It is thus possible to bring these holding arms for transporting the carousel into a tilted transport position and a transport position pivoted approximately parallel to the longitudinal axis of the chassis. This transport position is shown in phantom in FIGS. 1 and 2. It can be seen from FIG. 1 how the holding arms are tilted in the transport position, and from FIG. 3 it can be seen how three of the six spoke-like holding arms 8 shown only by way of example show three in a rear-facing position and three in a forward-facing position , are pivoted horizontally with respect to the chassis longitudinal axis and direction of train indicated by the arrow 1a.

The mounting of the holding arms 8 on the hub 5 takes place, for example, via an articulated construction, not shown Group 10, which together with the hub 5 forms a hinge with a vertical axis of rotation and on which the holding arms 8 are articulated via a hinge joint with a horizontal axis of rotation. The joint assembly 10 and the hub 5, on the one hand, and the joint assembly 10 and the holding arms 8, on the other hand, can each have mutually abutting flange parts with screw connections for locking the relevant joints in the operating position of the holding arms 8. Such screw connections are only indicated in FIG. 2, for example, at 11, that is between the joint assembly 10 and the hub 5. Of course, other locking means for locking the holding arms 8 in the operating position or in the transport position are also possible.

The mast 4 is designed as a telescopic mast, so that the mast extension 4a can be extended and retracted telescopically and thus the mast does not protrude significantly beyond the hub 5 in its transport position when the mast extension 4a is retracted.

As shown in FIG. 3 in particular, the two turntables 6 and 7 have foldable segments 6a, 6b and 7a, 7b arranged on both sides of the chassis longitudinal axis, the segments 7a, 7b of the upper turntable 7 downward and the segments 6a, 6b of the lower turntable 6 can be folded upwards into an approximately vertical transport position, as shown in FIG. 3. In the side view according to FIG. 1, the segments which are folded down or folded up in the transport position are indicated by dash-dotted lines.

In the transport state with the holding arms 8 pivoted and tipped parallel to the longitudinal axis of the chassis and with the turntable segments folded downwards or upwards, the carousel only has the width permissible for road transport and only a height in the range of approximately three meters, so that it can be attached to a towing vehicle and can be transported without difficulty even under average bridge passages and underpasses. The means necessary for supporting the turntables on the chassis in the transport state are not shown in FIG. 1 for reasons of clarity.

Carousels with more than two turntables, for example another third turntable arranged as an intermediate floor, can also be constructed on the same design principle.

A three-story carousel based on the above construction principle can also be constructed in such a way that in a carousel according to FIGS. 1 to 3 with two turntables arranged below the arms 8, a third turntable is placed on the arms 8 brought into their operating position. This is shown in FIG. 4.

Accordingly, a third turntable 12 is placed on the horizontal legs 8b of the arms 8 brought into their operating position. This third turntable 12 expediently consists of two or three elements which can be removed for transport, and the connection to the second turntable 7 below can be made by one or two spiral stairs in the radially inner region. The spiral staircase 13 is expediently designed as a coherent structural body which is simply hooked in between the second and third turntables when the carousel is being set up and unhooked again for dismantling the carousel.

For safety reasons, the third turntable 12 has a boundary wall 14 which is held on wall struts 8c. These wall struts 8c are hinged to the radially outer ends of the horizontal legs 8b of the arms 8 and between its operating position shown in FIG. 4 and a transport position in which they rest on the horizontal legs 8b of the arms 8.

As indicated by dash-dotted lines in FIG. 4, the wall struts 8c can either be a straight rod that can simply be swiveled around the articulation point to the horizontal leg 8b of the arm 8 in question (left-hand illustration in FIG. 4) or toggle-like from two articulated sections ( right representation in Fig. 4), which are folded onto one another in the transport position.

The mast extension 4a in this three-story carousel is of course designed to be long enough to serve as a tent roof rack together with the boundary wall 14 and the guy lines between the wall struts 8c.

Claims (10)

1. A transportable, power-driven roundabout having at least two concentric turntables (6, 7) disposed tierwise, a central mast (4) with rotating hub (5), and radial arms (8) disposed on the hub (5) in a spoke-like manner for suspending the turntables, wherein at least one of the turntables (6, 7) has hinged or removable segments, characterised in that the arms (8) are formed as approximately L-shaped angled arms having a limb (8a) extending upwardly from the hub (5) when in the operating position and a limb (8b) contiguous thereto and approximately horizontal when in the operating position, these arms (8) in each case being connected to be hub (5) so as to be pivotable vertically and also pivotable horizontally.
2. A roundabout as claimed in claim 1, characterised in that it is mounted on a chassis (1).
3. A roundabout as claimed in claim 1 or 2, characterised in that the mast (4) is in the form of a telescopic mast having an extensible upper portion (4a) for bracing the arms (8) when the latter are in their operating position.
4. A roundabout as claimed in one of claims 1 to 3, characterised in that the approximately horizontal limbs (8b) of the arms (8) are likewise clampable approximately horizontally to one another by tie bars (9).
5. A roundabout as claimed in one of the claim 1 to 4, characterised in that the horizontal and vertical swivel joints disposed between the hub (5) and the arms (8) each have mutually cooperating flanged parts having bolted joints (11) or other locking means for locking the arms in their operating position.
6. A double-tiered roundabout as claimed in one of the claims 1 to 5, characterised in that segments (6a, 6b) of the lower turntable (6) which are located on both sides of the longitudinal axis of the chassis are swingable upwardly into a transportation position, and segments (7a, 7b) of the upper turntable (7) which are located on both sides of the longitudinal axis of the chassis are swingable downwardly into a transportation position.
7. A roundabout as claimed in claim 6, characterised in that the hub (5) is disposed approximately at the height of the upper turntable (7), and the length of the upwardly extending limbs (8a) corresponds approximately to the radius of the upper turntable.
8. A three-tiered roundabout as claimed in one of the claims 1 to 7, characterised in that a third turntable (12) is removably mountable on the horizontal limbs (8b) of the arms (8) when the said horizontal limbs are in their operating position.
9. A roundabout as claimed in claim 8, characterised in that wall struts (8c) are articulated to the free outer ends of the horizontal limbs (8b) of the arms (8) and are swingable between a transportation position in which they rest against the horizontal limbs and an operating position in which they are swung up approximately at right angle thereto for the purpose of supporting a boundary wall (14) protecting the third turntable.
10. A roundabout as claimed in claim 9, characterised in that the wall struts (8c) comprise two portions which are hinged to one another in the manner of an articulated lever and which are folded onto one another when in the transportation position and are extended when in the operating position.
