Description

The invention relates to a submunition with a stabilizing screen and a pull-out device for deploying the stabilizing screen from its packing position in a receiving space of the submunition.

The stabilization screen is used for orientation and braking of the submunition after it has been ejected from a carrier floor.

In this case, the stabilizing screen is connected to a floor of the supporting floor to be ejected by means of an extension line. The floor itself is provided with a brake sail, which is stretched under the action of the swirl. Extending the stabilization screen of the submunition depends on the flight of the ground.

The object of the invention is to propose a submunition of the type mentioned in the introduction, in which the function of the extracting device is independent of parts of a carrier projectile from which the submunition is ejected and is independent of its swirl.

According to the invention, the above object is achieved in the case of submunition of the type mentioned at the outset in that the pull-out device is formed by a balloon which is inflatable by means of a gas generator and which is attached to the submunition fastened and stowed in the receiving space in the packing position, that the stabilizing screen is arranged inside the balloon and extended in the inflated balloon and that the balloon bursts after inflation.

In the pack position, the balloon and the stabilization screen are stowed in the submunition. The additional space requirement of the balloon is minimal.

After the submunition has been ejected from a carrier projectile, the gas generator is triggered at a suitable time. This inflates the balloon. This is independent of the swirl of the carrier projectile or its ejected floor. As the balloon expands, the stabilizing screen in it is pulled out. It is particularly favorable that the inflated balloon itself contributes to stabilizing the flight position of the submunition.

The balloon then bursts, so that the stabilization screen is then flowed onto and the submunition stabilizes and brakes.

Insgesamt ist ein sicherer Funktionsablauf gewährleistet.Overall, a safe functional sequence is guaranteed.

Advantageous refinements of the invention result from the subclaims and the following description of an exemplary embodiment. The drawing shows:
  • FIG. 1 shows a submunition after being ejected from a carrier projectile,
  • Figure 2 shows the submunition with an inflated balloon and extended stabilization screen and
  • Figure 3 shows the submunition with burst balloon and open stabilization screen.

A submunition (1) has a receiving space (2). A balloon (3) is attached in this. A stabilizing screen (4) is arranged inside the balloon (3), the holding lines (5) of which are also fastened in the receiving space (2).

A vertex (6) of the stabilizing screen (4) is firmly connected to a vertex (7) of the balloon (3). A predetermined breaking line (8) is formed on the circumference of the balloon (3) between an upper balloon part (9) and a lower balloon part (10). The predetermined breaking line (8) is such that the upper balloon part (9) does not prevent the stabilizing screen (4) from unfolding.

The submunition (1) has a gas generator (11) with which the balloon (3) can be inflated until it bursts.

Figur 2). Der aufgeblasene Ballon(3) stabilisiert die Fluglage der Submunition(1) in der Anströmung(A).In the packing position (cf. FIG. 1), the balloon (3) and the stabilizing screen (4) located in it are stowed in the receiving space (2). After the release of the submunition (1), a pulse is given to the gas generator (11) after a certain time. This then inflates the balloon (3). The submunition (1) is exposed to an inflow (A) (see FIG. 2). When the balloon (3) is inflated, the stabilizing screen (4) is pulled out of the receiving space (2) by the balloon (3) (cf. FIG. 2). The inflated balloon (3) stabilizes the flight position of the submunition (1) in the inflow (A).

Under the further action of the gas generator (11), the balloon upper part (9) tears at the predetermined breaking line (8) from the balloon lower part (10). The stabilizing screen (4) itself is now exposed to the inflow (A), so that it unfolds (see FIG. 3) and stabilizes and brakes the flight of the submunition (1). With the described device, pulling out and unfolding the stabilizing screen (4) is guaranteed.
