Abstract

The invention relates to a heel cushion made of silicone rubber with a heel bed and possibly a shell adjoining it on the edge. In order that, in the region of the back of the heel, there are no undesirably high pressure loads, the heel bed is to have a region made of softer silicone rubber. <IMAGE>

Description

The invention relates to a heel cushion made of silicone rubber with a heel bed and optionally a shell adjoining it on the edge.

Heel cushions are known in various designs. The supply of a heel cushion to the rear foot serves to compensate for differences in leg length, to cushion when walking, to absorb maximum shock loads and the like. Heel cushions made of silicone rubber have proven particularly useful because this material is not compressible, but is nonetheless flexible. With regard to their flexibility, silicone rubbers can be easily adjusted to the respective requirements and are also easy to mold.

Conventional heel cushions consist entirely of silicone rubber with the same material settings. This allows the pressure distribution on the rear foot largely even. However, the pressure is usually higher in the area of the heel spur. This can have a negative effect, especially if the heel or heel spurs are misaligned.

The object of the invention is to improve a heel cushion of the type described in the introduction so that no undesirably high pressure loads occur in the area of the heel spur.

This object is achieved in that the heel bed has an area made of a softer silicone rubber. This softer area is placed where the heel spur rests on the heel bed. Depending on the circumstances, the softer area can therefore be arranged in the center or off-center on the heel bed. The softer region is preferably circular. It goes without saying that the heel bed itself can have the usual wedge shape and can also be designed as a so-called pronation cushion with an external elevation or as a supination cushion with an internal elevation. In any case, the softer set area leads to a lower pressure load under the heel spur and thus to an equalization of the pressure load of the rear foot as a whole.

For technical reasons, it can be useful if the underside of the heel bed consists consistently of the harder silicone rubber and if the softer silicone rubber is embedded in the harder silicone rubber.

  • Fig. 1 eine Draufsicht auf ein Fersenkissen,
In the following an embodiment of the invention shown in the drawing is explained; show it:
  • 1 is a plan view of a heel cushion,
  • FIG. 2 shows a longitudinal section through the object according to FIG. 1.

The heel cushion shown has a heel bed 1 and a shell 2 adjoining it on the edge, which has its greatest height in the region of the heel and becomes lower towards the front end of the heel bed 1.

The heel cushion is made of a silicone rubber, the hardness of which is adjusted according to the circumstances. In particular, the underside of the heel bed 1 is made of this silicone rubber throughout. In the top of the heel bed 1, a circular area 3 made of a softer silicone rubber is embedded off-center. This area 3 is arranged so that it is below the heel spur, so that the pressure load on the rear foot under the heel spur is less and the pressure load on the rest of the rear foot is adjusted.
