Description

The invention relates to a portable route warning device for underground use zone H and / or zone "O", with a device for detecting, processing and displaying route messages detected by at least one sensor with a battery supply.

Freight trains run on rails are used to transport mined materials such as coal, ore and the like, even in the underground area. Due to the cramped space conditions underground, the clear width of the routes is chosen so that the individual wagons of the freight trains can pass through without a large space.

Sometimes it happens that individual wagons detach themselves from the train set and, if necessary, are suddenly accelerated to high speeds due to inclinations.

Anyone working on the line is then extremely at risk because the space between the freight wagons and the side wall of the tunnel is not sufficient for even one person to stay. For this purpose, niches are provided at certain intervals in the side walls of the gallery, into which people can escape. Due to the light conditions underground, rolling cars are often seen too late and hardly heard due to the noise conditions, so that timely evasion is no longer possible.

For this purpose, so-called route warning devices are used underground, which have sensors that are attached in the area of the rails so that they can detect passing cars. These sensors are proximity switches and are actuated by the metal wheels of the cars. They are connected to a route warning device of the type mentioned at the outset and the signals emitted by the sensors are picked up by the route warning device, processed and fed to one or more acoustic and / or optical display elements. Such a device, which can be used for railway lines above ground or possibly in tunnels, is e.g. become known from AT-C 108485. Power is supplied from a network via a mains cable that is provided with a standard plug that is not suitable for underground operation due to the lack of firedamp protection.

The electrical supply to the line warning devices for underground operations must be provided with batteries, because these are portable devices and can have a different location every day in the course of the progress of the mine expansion.

Since the batteries discharge over time or are quickly discharged in the event of commissioning, they must be recharged or replaced from time to time. Due to the design of the known batteries, the route warning devices including the battery housing must be brought upstairs during the day, because the batteries can lead to an ignition of the gases in the event of faults during charging. In order for the device to remain underground in the event of a gas accumulation (CHag accumulation) causing higher weather, higher safety requirements must be met.

In the same way, there are also ways of using such route warning devices for days in potentially explosive areas, and here such possible uses are the areas with zone 0.

As mentioned at the beginning, such a portable route warning device has a device for recording, processing and displaying at least one sensor of detected route messages, and it also has a battery supply with a charger.

The object of the invention is to design such a route warning device so that it can remain underground in any condition.

This object is achieved in that the route warning device has an outer housing of increased security, which has a first housing section, in which the battery supply, which is housed in a sand-filled battery housing designed for increased security, and one the battery current has circuit arrangement limiting intrinsically safe current values, can be inserted, and contains a flameproof switch which can be actuated by the battery housing when it is inserted or removed and thereby switches the intrinsically safe output current on and off, and a second housing section separated therefrom by an intermediate wall has, in which the device for capturing, processing and displaying the route messages is housed and which itself is encapsulated in sand, and that the power lines between the two housing sections are pressure-resistant through the partition.

According to the invention, a portable route warning device for underground use in zone H or for zone O has therefore been created for the first time, in which the need to remove the device from the endangered zone in the event of danger no longer exists. In the invention, one security measure is put over the other, as follows:

  • 1. Sandkapselung für die Batterie,
  • 2. Batteriegehäuse für erhöhte Sicherheit und
  • 3. der Ausgangstromkreis der Batterieeinheit ist eigensicher.
The battery supply is inserted in a housing, which is either flameproof or meets the requirements for increased safety. In addition, in the housing for the battery, that is to say in the battery housing, there is a circuit arrangement with which the current emitted by the battery is made intrinsically safe, that is to say brought to values which are dimensioned such that a spark no longer causes the ignition of the ambient atmosphere has the required energy. The housing for the battery supply is encapsulated in sand and several measures have been overlaid:
  • 1. sand encapsulation for the battery,
  • 2. Battery case for increased security and
  • 3. The output circuit of the battery unit is intrinsically safe.

The lines that lead from the battery to the circuit arrangement that limits the battery current to intrinsically safe current values are led out pressure-tight encapsulated from the sand encapsulation.

The other housing section, which contains the facilities for processing, recording and displaying the route messages, is constructed in a similar way:

The electrical circuitry for detecting, processing and generating signals for display elements is an "intrinsically safe" device and this intrinsically safe device is itself encapsulated in sand and is surrounded by the housing, which in its entirety is designed according to the regulations for increased safety. This means that the connections therein meet the requirements for increased safety, although the current they carry is intrinsically safe. The bushings that lead from the battery part to the processing part are flameproof bushings.

In this way it is achieved that a security measure covers another security measure, so that if one security measure is damaged or fails, the other security measure is still effective.

Further advantageous embodiments of the invention can be found in the subclaims.

The route warning device according to the invention, which has the reference number 10 in its entirety, has a first housing section 11 and a second housing section 12, about which further details are to be given below. The route warning device 10 itself is housed in an outer housing 13, which meets the VDE regulations for increased safety. It is composed of sheet metal and is divided into two housing sections 11 and 12 by means of an intermediate wall 14.

The first housing section 11, which has a horseshoe shape, is surrounded by a double wall (see FIG. 3), which has an inner wall 15 arranged in the first housing section at a distance from the outer housing 13.

The first housing section is at a distance from the bottom 16 of an intermediate wall 17 to which a pin 18 is fastened vertically upwards by means of a nut connection 19, in which area the intermediate wall 17 is supported by means of a support arrangement 20 provided between it and the bottom 16. To the left of the support arrangement 20, a socket element 21 is inserted into an opening 22 in the intermediate wall 17, which forms a trumpet-shaped cable guide 23, into which a cable 24 is inserted, which is connected to a socket contact 25 held in a form-fitting manner in the socket element 21. The socket element 21 is composed of two sub-elements 21a and 21b, the socket element 21a partially enclosing the socket element 21b in the interior of the housing section 11. In the latter, the socket contact 25, to which the cable 24 is connected, is positively embedded therein. The socket element 21b has a bore 21c, which extends towards the socket contact 25 and is open from the end opposite the cable, into which the plug pin 40 engages and contacts it with the socket contact 25.

In the interior of the first housing section 12, a battery housing 26 is inserted, which contains a battery pack 27, which is accommodated in a battery housing 28, which has two battery housing sections 29 and 30, which are separated from one another by an intermediate wall 31; The battery pack 27 is located above the intermediate wall 31 and below it is a transformer arrangement 32 which converts the current generated by the battery pack 27 to so-called intrinsically safe values.

The battery case 28 is inserted into a battery case 33, which in turn is interposed with a seal 33a between its lower edge and the bottom of the battery casing 26 is inserted therein. The battery carrying housing 33 has strip-like formations 34 and 35 on diametrically opposite sides, which can be inserted into U-shaped slot guides 36 and 37 provided in the first housing section 11; Both slot guides 36 and 37 have different dimensions, as do the strip-like formations 34 and 35, in order to achieve a distinctive character.

In the bottom of the battery housing 26, a cup-like recess 38 is drawn in, in which sits a plug bushing 39, which has a plug pin 40 which engages in the socket element 21 when the battery carrying housing is inserted into the first housing section 11.

Inside the battery housing 26 is a slidable, cooperating with the pin 18 link guide 41, on the outer surface of a slidable pin 42 slides, which cooperates with the pressure contact element 43 of a switch 44 such that when the battery housing 26 or carrying case 33 is removed from the first housing section 11, the switch 44 is switched off. This takes place in that the link guide 41, which is designed as a bolt, is pressed down under the action of a spring 41a when the battery housing 26 is pulled out, until the link guide 41 is connected with a stop 41b against one firmly connected to the bottom of the housing 26 Surface 41c creates, the tip of the pin 42 can slide into the area 41d of reduced diameter and thus release the pressure contact element 43 and the switch 44 are switched off. The area 41c is located on a post 41e, in which there is a bore 41f which receives the link guide 41 and the pin 18 which slides out of the bore 41f when the battery housing 26 is removed and releases the link guide 41.

The switch 44 is attached to the bottom of the battery casing 26 via an angle 44a attached to it.

Die Fig. 1 zeigt den ersten Gehäuseabschnitt 11 ohne Deckel 45.The first housing section is closed by means of a cover 45 which, in the area of the second housing section, can be pivoted clockwise around the rotary bearing 46 by means of a rotary bearing 46; at the diametrically opposite end, the cover is connected or screwed to the first housing section 11 by means of a screw connection 47. 1 shows the first housing section 11 without cover 45.

The battery housing 28 is filled with sand 48 and thus encapsulated in sand, not only the housing section 29 that contains the battery pack 27, but also the housing section 30 that contains the transformer 32. The transformer 32 converts the non-intrinsically safe battery energy into an intrinsically safe power supply and a pressure-resistant lead-through 49 leads to a connection to the switch 44 and from there via a cable 50 to the likewise pressure-resistant plug device 25/40 (not shown in more detail).

The cable 24, which carries intrinsically safe current, is threaded through a bushing (not shown) inside the intermediate wall 14 into the second housing section 12 and this bushing corresponds to the regulations for increased safety.

In the interior of the second housing section 12 there is a device 51 for detecting, processing and displaying route messages, which is housed in a housing 52 and is thereby encapsulated in sand. Connecting cables (not shown) leading to the device 51 are passed through a plate 53 and connected above the plate 53, that is to say outside the housing section 12, to electrical coupling devices 55 which meet the regulations for intrinsic safety. Of these coupling devices 55, the sockets (without reference numbers) are fastened on the plate 53 and the plugs (also without reference numbers) are inserted into this with a cable bushing 54, only the plug on the left with the cable bushing 54 being completely drawn. The sockets and the plugs with the cable bushings are commercially available parts and are therefore not described in more detail here. A total of four such coupling devices are provided. As mentioned, the individual coupling devices 55 are followed by the cable bushings 54, into which connecting cables 71 are inserted, which come from sensors (not shown in more detail) on rails for trains traveling underground.

An additional fifth coupling device 56 is used for the electrically conductive connection of the device 51 via a connecting cable 57 for connecting a light indicator 58 (see below). Here, the socket of the coupling device 56 fastened on the plate 53 is open in the opposite direction to the sockets of the coupling devices 55, so that the plugs can be inserted from the opposite side. Outside the plate 53 there is a cover 53b on a support plate 53a via a hinge 70 articulated. The plugs with the cable bushings 54 pass through the end cover 53b on the side thereof adjacent to the outer contour, and the plug for the coupling device 56 reaches through the end cover 53b on the central side, the cutouts (not shown) engaging inside the end cover 53b Allow the end cover 53b to be folded down easily.

As mentioned above, the connecting cable 57 is led to the display unit 58, which has a signal lamp 59 and a clay capsule 72.

The signal lamp 59 has a halogen lamp 60 which is accommodated in a glass bulb 61, the connection connections 62 being inserted pressure-tight into the signal lamp 59 from the lamp supply space 63. In addition, the signal lamp has a lampshade 64 with corresponding lens-like projections in order to achieve a specific lighting characteristic, and the display unit 58 is also surrounded by a protective cage 66 which is connected to a base plate 67.

The display unit 58 is fastened to a carrier housing 73, which has a box-like shape and is attached to the carrier plate or base plate 67. In the upper box wall 74 opposite the base plate 67, two recesses 75 and 76 are provided, through which or in which fastening means 77 and 78 for the signal lamp 59 and the clay capsule 72 are fastened. These holding devices 77 and 78 consist of two union nut-like elements with an inner sleeve 79 and 80 and the union part 81 and 82, the latter with the wall 74 by means of Screw connections 83 and 84 are firmly connected. The inner part 79 is provided with a socket part 85, in which the two connection connections 62 and the glass bulb 61 are received. The connecting cable 57 is inserted into the interior of the housing 73 via a pressure-resistant cable bushing 86 and is connected to the connecting lines 62 to the signal lamp 59 or to the clay capsule 72 by lines (not shown).

The invention is not specifically shown in the individual designs, but essentially in the following:

The battery housing 28 is encapsulated in sand, and is accordingly designed in accordance with safety regulations of a first type. The energy supply that comes from the battery pack 27 can be described as intrinsically safe, the space that is enclosed by the battery carrying housing 33 conforming to the regulations for increased safety. Electrical connections from the battery carrying case 33 are also designed to be explosion-proof or firedamp-proof and meet the regulations for pressure-resistant bushings and, moreover, only current with intrinsically safe values flows through these pressure-resistant bushings. Furthermore, a switch is provided in the battery carrying case, which also disconnects the connector pin 40, which projects outwards, when the battery is removed. As a result, the battery case itself can always remain underground, even when the batteries are fully charged and when the batteries need to be recharged.

The bushings from the first housing section to the second housing section are also pressure-resistant or correspond to the regulations for pressure-resistant bushings, although the cables which are passed through these bushings only transmit intrinsically safe energy. Overall, the first housing section and the second housing section are designed in such a way that they meet the requirements for increased safety. In the second housing section, which also again meets the requirements for increased safety, the electrical supply is sand-encapsulated and the bushings in this sand-encapsulated housing are again pressure-resistant bushings and the connecting lines, which are brought from the current sensors located at the distance warning device 10 likewise introduced into the interior of the housing according to the regulations for pressure-resistant bushings, although here too the incoming signals have an energy which does not exceed the maximum permissible energy values for intrinsic safety. The signal lamp arrangement 58 is encapsulated in a pressure-tight manner, the actual lamp consisting of a halogen lamp and a bulb arranged around it; the supply lines to the electrodes of the lamps are also pressure-resistant bushings, although the energy that is supplied to the lights complies with the regulations for intrinsic safety.
