Da der Torwart beim Fingerhandschuh außerdem die Möglichkeit hat, die einzelnen Finger getrennt abzubiegen, steht ihm im Über­raschungsfall mit abgebogenem Finger nicht die ganze Handfläche als Fangfläche zur Verfügung. Um eine ausreichende Finger­freiheit innerhalb der Fingertaschen zu gewährleisten, sind die durch die zwischen den Fingern 2 bis 5 ange­ordneten Schichtel gebildeten Taschenwände an ihrer oberhandseitigen Naht länger als an ihrer innenhand­seitigen Naht.
