Es sind eine Reihe verschiedener Farbband-Kassetten mit zwei Bandwickelkernen bekannt, bei denen das Farbband von einem die Vorratsspule tragenden Bandwickelkern am Druckkopf vorbei auf einen Aufwickelkern umgespult wird. Je nach Drucksystem sind derartige Farbband-Kassetten entweder im Einmal-Betrieb (single use) oder im Mehrfach-Betrieb (multi use) verwendbar. Im Mehrfachbetrieb wird die Kassette nach jedem Banddurchlauf gewendet, so daß das Farbband beim nächsten Durchlauf in umgekehrter Richtung transportiert wird. Derartige Wendekassetten müssen deshalb so aufgebaut sein, daß Druckkopf- und Kapstan-Antriebswelle sowohl in der ersten als auch in der zweiten Wendeposition entsprechende Öffnungen in der Kassette vorfinden.A number of different ribbon cassettes with two ribbon winding cores are known, in which the ribbon is rewound from a ribbon winding core carrying the supply reel past the print head onto a winding core. Diese Aufgabe wird erfindungsgemäß durch die kennzeichnenden Merkmale des Anspruchs 1 gelöst. Die Erfindung wird im folgenden anhand der Zeichnung näher erläutert. Dabei zeigt die Figur eine rechteckähnliche Farbbandkassette 1, die aus zwei identisch ausgebildeten Gehäuseschalen besteht und zwei Bandwickelkerne 2, 3 enthält, die auf zwei Antriebsdorne aufsteckbar sind. An einer Längskante sind zwei, bezogen auf die Mittellinie zwischen den beiden Bandwickelkernen symmetrisch angeordnete Öffnungen 4, 5 vorgesehen, an denen das über Rollen 6 mehrfach umgelenkte Farbband 7 vorbeibewegt wird. Dabei wird das Farbband 7 vom Bandwickelkern 2, der die Vorratsspule 9 trägt, abgespult und auf den Bandwickelkern 3 aufgespult. Die etwa rechteckförmigen Öffnungen 4, 5 sind so groß gewählt, daß, wie bei der Öffnung 5 ersichtlich, ein Druckkopf 8 hinter dem Farbband 7 in die Farbbandkassette 1 eintauchen kann. Die Farbbandkassette 1 weist ferner an den beiden Schmalseiten je eine etwa U-förmige Öffnung 10, 11 auf, in die beim Einsetzen der Farbbandkassette 1 in eine Druckvorrichtung einerseits eine Lichtschranke 12 und andererseits eine Kapstan-Antriebsrolle 13 eintauchen. Die Kapstan-Antriebselle 13 sorgt zusammen mit einer Gegenrolle 14 für den Transport des Bandes 7, wobei eine Rutschkupplung in der Kapstan-Antriebswelle 13 bewirkt, daß die an sich höherer Farbbandgeschwindigkeit an die niedrigere Transportgeschwindigkeit der am Druckkopf 8 vorbeibewegten Druckvorlage angepaßt wird. Der mit dem Antrieb der Kapstan-Antriebswelle 13 gekoppelte Antrieb für den Bandwickelkern 3 wird ebenfalls durch eine Rutschkupplung so eingestellt, daß sich für den Bandwickelkern 3 nur ein geringes Antriebsmoment ergibt. Mit der in der Öffnung 10 vorgesehenen Lichtschranke 12 wird das Bandende überwacht, wobei die Lage der Lichtschranke 12 zum Druckkopf 8 so gewählt ist, daß bei einer Bandendemeldung alle bereits auf dem Weg zur Druckstation befindlichen Belege noch bedruckt werden können, bevor das Bandende den Druckkopf 8 erreicht. Sobald das Farbband 7 vollständig auf den Bandwickelkern 3 umgespult ist, kann die Farbbandkassette 1 gewendet werden, wobei der Druckkopf 8 in die Öffnung 4, die Kapstan-Antriebswelle 13 in die Öffnung 10 und die Lichtschranke 12 in die Öffnung 11 eintauchen. Die völlig symmetrisch aufgebaute Farbbandkassette 1 weist auf beiden Seiten je einen radial zu einem der Bandwickelkerne verlaufenden Sehschlitz 15 auf, an dem der noch verfügbare Bandvorrat abgelesen werden kann. Ferner sind in der Verbindungsebene zwischen den beiden Gehäuseschalen mehrere, am Umfang der Farbbandkassette 1 verteilte Rastnasen 16 vorgesehen, um die Farbbandkassette 1 in der Druckposition ausreichend fixieren zu können.The invention is explained in more detail below with reference to the drawing.
