Description
The invention relates to a thread guide arm with thread guide members arranged above the thread guide nut on the arm.
It is known to feed the thread on the thread guide arms to the thread guide nut via a thread guide eyelet attached to the thread guide arm as a thread deflecting element. Since a thread can be fed to the thread guide either from the left or from the right, a thread deflection eyelet is attached to a holding arm which projects beyond the thread guide arm on each side of the thread guide arm. Often a further thread guide eyelet is attached to the thread guide arm, the eye axis of which is aligned with the direction of movement of the thread guide and through which a thread intended for another thread guide can be passed for support. These thread guide organs have the disadvantage that a thread is formed in the event of tension fluctuations in the guided threads and a thread sag that may occur as a result can get caught on the outside of the thread guide eyelet or on its support arm, which leads to a thread breakage.
The object of the invention is to design the thread guide members arranged on the thread guide arm in such a way that no thread can get caught on them.
The object is achieved according to the invention in that, in the case of a thread guide arm of the type mentioned at the outset, the thread guide members are arranged directly and without a gap in front of a thread holding plate, the outer edge of which runs without an acute angle.
The thread-holding shield prevents a thread loop from being able to wrap around a thread guide element, and it is designed in such a way that no thread and no thread loop can attach itself to it, but must slide off its edge.
Advantageously, the thread guide members can consist of eyelets or bores which are inserted or formed in eyes or webs placed on the thread-holding shield and the exposed edges of which are rounded or flattened. In a preferred embodiment, the webs provided with thread guide bores or eyelets are formed in one piece with the thread holding plate. The thread-holding plate can expediently be manufactured with the thread-guiding elements as an investment casting and be provided with an abrasion-resistant coating.
The thread-holding shield can have a largely circular outer edge, but can also be composed of circular-arc sections and straight-line edge sections in such a way that there are no acute angles on its edge at which a thread or a thread loop could become caught. Advantageously, the thread-holding plate can have on its rear side a recess suitable for receiving the arm, so that its rear side forms a flat surface with the rear side of the thread-guiding arm and protrusions or gradations are avoided, on which threads could become caught.
Exemplary embodiments of a thread guide arm designed according to the invention are explained in more detail below with reference to the accompanying drawing.
