Description

The invention relates to a lubricating device in a multi-cylinder reciprocating piston engine according to the preamble of claim 1.

In a lubricating device known from DE-PS 3203312, a housing for a lubricating oil pump is formed in an end cover, which is flanged to the motor housing. The lubricating oil pump and the gear wheel driving it are coaxial with the crankshaft. The lubricating oil pump sucks the oil from a reservoir and conveys it to the lubrication points of the engine via distribution channels and an oil filter, which is attached to the outer side surface of the front cover. This lubrication device is probably well suited for a low-speed engine. In the case of a high-speed engine, considerable noise would be emitted by the oil pump housing formed in the flexible end cover.

From DE-A 2502034, a lubricating device with an oil pump housing is known for an internal combustion engine, which is designed as a self-contained unit consisting of two housing parts, the housing parts being centered on their separating surface and screwed to one another and to the crankcase of the internal combustion engine.

It is the object of the invention to design a lubricating device for a reciprocating piston engine in such a way that it enables sufficient bearing lubrication without excessive noise emission even at the highest engine speed. The oil pump housing should be compact, dimensionally stable and easy to mount on the motor housing and the lubrication device should also be applicable for oil sump lubrication and dry sump lubrication.

To solve this problem, the characterizing features of claim 1 serve. If the oil pump is closely enclosed by a housing which is composed of two mutually centered and screwed together housing parts, a precisely fitting and stable bearing can be achieved for the pump wheel, so that the noise is minimal and noise emission from a large front cover is avoided. A simple and safe installation is made possible by using the oil pump housing the oil pump and its storage is designed as a pre-assembled unit. In order to further reduce noise and improve oil production, it is also planned to use two smaller oil pumps instead of a large oil pump, which also acts as a suction and pressure pump, one of which works as a suction pump and pressure pump. According to claim 2, the inner part of the oil pump housing is centered and radially sealed in the motor housing, the outer housing is sealed on the end face of the motor housing and is screwed to it. Such a lubrication device is suitable both for oil sump lubrication, in which it sucks oil from the crankcase, and for dry sump lubrication, in which a separate lubricating oil reservoir is provided. According to claim 4, a cylindrical oil filter is located centrally between the horizontally installed pressure pump and the suction pump parallel to it, the filter cartridge of which can be removed downwards. The housing of the oil pumps and the oil filter are inserted into the outer contour of the magnesium-cast oil pump housing, the outer diameter of the filter housing being the thickness of the oil pump housing and the length of the filter housing being approximately the same as the height of the oil pump housing.

According to claim 6, a regulator housing is cast on the top of the oil pump housing approximately flush with the filter housing, which contains a pressure regulator that can be removed upwards. The combination of these various units in one casting makes it possible to pour all the connecting channels for the lubricating oil into it. so that pipes or hoses can be omitted.

An embodiment of the invention is shown in the drawing and is explained below.

A crankshaft 1 mounted in the middle of a V-engine drives with its crankshaft gear 2 upwards the gearwheels 3 and 4 with which the Control gear for the camshafts of the two rows of cylinders 5 and 6 are driven. Downward, the crankshaft gear 2 meshes to the right with a gear 7, to the left with a gear 8 with which oil pumps are driven. The gears 7 and 8 are mounted with needle bearings on bearing bolts 9 and 10, which are fixed in the motor housing 11. At the end, the gears 7 and 8 carry coupling pieces 12 and 13. These work in a form-fitting manner together with coupling counterparts 14 and 15 and form plug-in couplings 16 and 17 with them, which, like Oldham couplings, can compensate for an axle offset.

The coupling piece 14 is attached on the end face to a shaft 18, with which a pressure pump 19 is driven and is mounted in two slide bearings of an oil pump housing 20. The pressure pump 19, with which lubricating oil is conveyed to the bearing points of the V-engine, is a gear pump consisting of two meshing gears 21 and 22. The gear 21 is on the shaft 18, the gear 22 on the one, which is also mounted in slide bearings of the oil pump housing 20 , parallel shaft 23 rotatably. Another gear pump is driven and supported by the same shafts 18 and 23, which serves as a suction pump 24 for extracting lubricating oil from turbochargers 25.

To the left of the crankshaft 1, two further suction pumps 26 and 27 for extracting lubricating oil from the motor housing 1 are arranged coaxially to one another in the oil pump housing 20. There are also gear pumps, each consisting of two meshing gears, which are rotationally fixed on hollow shafts 28 and 29. The hollow shaft 28 is driven via the coupling piece 15 attached to its end face. Both hollow shafts 28 and 29 are supported on both sides in slide bearings of the oil pump housing 20.

The oil pump housing 20 is composed of three housing parts which are cast from magnesium. It consists of an inner part 30, an inner part 30 'and an outer part 32 centered on them and screwed to them at a parting plane 31. The inner parts 30, 30' are in the area of the pressure pump 19 and the two suction pumps 26, 27 in bores in the motor housing 11 centered and sealed by radial seals 33. The outer part 32 lies against the end face 34 of the motor housing 11, is sealed against it with axial seals 35 and is fastened to the motor housing 11 by screws 36.

An oil filter 37 is arranged approximately in the middle between the two suction pumps 26, 27 and the pressure pump 19. Its cylindrical Filter housing 38 is integrated into the outer contour of the oil pump housing 20 in that its outer diameter is equal to the thickness of the oil pump housing 20 and its length is equal to the height of the oil pump housing 20. After loosening the filter cover 39, the filter cartridge can be pulled out downwards.

On the top of the oil pump housing 20, a regulator housing 40 is cast, which contains a pressure regulator for the lubricating oil and an oil channel for the central feeding of the lubricating oil into a central bore of the crankshaft 1. An elastic bushing, which is centered in an oil-receiving cap 41 of the crankshaft 1 and in the oil channel of the regulator housing 40, serves to connect the center bore to the oil channel.

At the lower corner points 20 support eyes 42 are cast on the outer part 32 of the oil pump housing, the bores 43 of which lie parallel and equidistant from the crankshaft 1. The support eyes and the walls of the oil pump housing 20 are so rigid and torsionally rigid that they can absorb the weight of the engine and the dynamic inertia forces caused by it.
