Definitions
- the invention relates to a surfboard, the rear area of which ends in a vertically narrow, flexible tongue which is influenced in its elasticity by a tensioning device and has an elastic covering layer on its upper side, the tensioning device being arranged one behind the other in the longitudinal direction of the surfboard , Above the tongue arranged supports, of which the front is largely rigid with respect to the tongue and the rear extends from the tongue, there is a connection between the supports and an elastic element.
- the rear support is movable with respect to the tongue.
- the connection between the supports is a rigid arm of a two-armed lever, the second arm of which projects forward from the front support.
- the elastic element in the form of a spring is located between the front end of the arm projecting forward and a floor which is arranged a short distance above the tongue.
- the two-armed lever used here has problems with it: on the one hand, the lever must be very strong in the rotating area, because considerable bending forces act there.
- the bearing of the two-armed lever is subject to considerable signs of wear if it is not a special bearing (ball bearing or the like). But if a special warehouse is used, the surfboard becomes complicated and expensive. One must not mistake that the lever is subject to constant back and forth movements of larger and smaller dimensions when using the board. Finally, the bearing will give rise to noise when using a simple spigot detector, which should primarily be thought of.
- the known design is only possible with a short, flexible rear: If the rear were extended, the forces that the spring would have to absorb would be correspondingly greater. In practice, this increase in forces could not be compensated for, or only with other disadvantages: the weight of the various parts would increase accordingly, and / or the height of the board would increase accordingly, at least in the spring area.
- the invention has for its object to design the surfboard mentioned in such a way that the two-armed lever with bearing comes to an end.
- the rear support is rigid with respect to the tongue
- the front support from the tongue or in front of the surfboard and the elastic element is arranged in the form of an inherently elastic or an elastically sprung stringer between the supports.
- a surfboard designed in this way does not have a two-armed lever with a bearing. Accordingly, all the disadvantages mentioned, namely wear and noise (if it is a simple journal bearing) or more expensive (if it is a special bearing) and increasing the mass, because the lever in the bearing area must be very strong, are eliminated.
- the rear can be made (considerably) longer than in the known case: If the rear is extended, the weight and space problems mentioned do not occur.
- a further development of the invention is that the space above the tongue is filled with highly elastic material. That brings among other things the advantage that the feet of the surfer are cushioned, which is perceived as pleasant.
- tongue-fixed or stringer-fixed bases are located below the stringer, which end at a short distance from the stringer or the tongue. In this way it is achieved that a downward bending of the tongue is limited.
- Figures 1 and 2 show the rear end of a surfboard according to the invention.
- This consists of a tongue 1, two supports 2 and 3, a stringer 4 clamped between the supports 2 and 3, an elastic buffer 5 between the stringer 4 and the support 2, highly elastic filler material 6 above the tongue 1 (in FIG. 2) the material omitted) and loops 7 and 8 for holding the surfer's feet.
- the stringer 4 is mounted so as to be longitudinally displaceable relative to the support 2 by means of a bolt 9 which is inserted into slots 10 of two brackets 11 which are fixed to the support. It is supported by a plate 12 on the rubber buffer 5, which in turn rests with the front end of the support 2.
- the rubber buffer 5 thus causes an elastic mounting of the stringer 4 in the longitudinal direction of the board.
- FIG 3 shows this storage in detail.
- the rubber buffer 5 is pulled through by a screw 13.
- a nut 14 sits on the screw 13.
- the rubber buffer 5 has a biconvex shape in the unloaded state.
- the two convex surfaces can be pressed together by means of the screw 13 and the nut 14. In this way it is possible to adjust the elasticity of the rubber buffer 5.
- Figures 4 and 5 show the rear of another embodiment.
- This consists of a tongue 1, a bearing arm 15, two stringers 4, two elastic buffers 16, tongue-fixed bases 17, spring washers 18 between the stringers 4 and the tongue 1 and cross struts 19 between the stringers 4.
- the association consisting of the stringer 4 and the buffer 16, is clamped between the bearing arm 15 and a base 20.
- the latter is located in a board surface that runs vertically or at an angle.
- the springs 18 are connected to the stringer by screws 21. These screws make it possible to change the distance between the springs 18 and the stringers 4 and in this way to adjust the spring force of the springs 18.
- Two successively arranged foot straps are located between the bearing arm 15 and the adjacent cross strut 19 on the one hand and the two cross struts 19 on the other.
- the space above the tongue 1 is filled with highly elastic material.
- a buffer 16 can be adjustable in terms of its elasticity. On the other hand, it can also be missing. Then, however, the stringer 4 should be elastic in itself. It is also conceivable that there is a distance between the stringer 4 and the bearing 20 or the buffer 16 in the basic position of the board, in such a way that the bending and torsional forces are applied only by the tongue and stringer in an initial bending region of the tongue and stop surface serve as a limit for bending.
- Figures 6 and 7 show an embodiment, which is characterized in that a tail corresponding to the design according to the invention retrofitted to a surf conventional type, in which the tail has been cut off, has been applied.
- the tongue 1 protrudes further forward than the rest of the tail.
- Your protruding part is attached to the remaining part of the surfboard by means of dowels 22.
- tabs 23 on which the stringers 4 are fastened protrude from this remaining part.
- 17 are again tongue-proof bases, 18 adjustable springs (in this case coil springs), 19 a cross strut and 8 a foot strap.
- the rear surface of the remaining part of the surfboard is provided with a layer 24 of high-strength plastic.
- the stringers 4 are connected to the tabs 23 via rubber buffers 25.
- These buffers have the shape of curved cuboids. They can be pressed together by means of screws 26 in such a way that they approach an unbent cuboid. In this way, the elasticity of the rubber buffers can be increased.

Abstract
Description
The invention relates to a surfboard, the rear area of which ends in a vertically narrow, flexible tongue which is influenced in its elasticity by a tensioning device and has an elastic covering layer on its upper side, the tensioning device being arranged one behind the other in the longitudinal direction of the surfboard , Above the tongue arranged supports, of which the front is largely rigid with respect to the tongue and the rear extends from the tongue, there is a connection between the supports and an elastic element.
In a known surfboard of this type (US-A-3 902 207) the rear support is movable with respect to the tongue. In addition, the connection between the supports is a rigid arm of a two-armed lever, the second arm of which projects forward from the front support. The elastic element in the form of a spring is located between the front end of the arm projecting forward and a floor which is arranged a short distance above the tongue.
The two-armed lever used here has problems with it: on the one hand, the lever must be very strong in the rotating area, because considerable bending forces act there. On the other hand, the bearing of the two-armed lever is subject to considerable signs of wear if it is not a special bearing (ball bearing or the like). Above all, however, the known design is only possible with a short, flexible rear: If the rear were extended, the forces that the spring would have to absorb would be correspondingly greater. In practice, this increase in forces could not be compensated for, or only with other disadvantages: the weight of the various parts would increase accordingly, and / or the height of the board would increase accordingly, at least in the spring area.
The invention has for its object to design the surfboard mentioned in such a way that the two-armed lever with bearing comes to an end.
This object is achieved in that the rear support is rigid with respect to the tongue, the front support from the tongue or in front of the surfboard and the elastic element is arranged in the form of an inherently elastic or an elastically sprung stringer between the supports.
A surfboard designed in this way does not have a two-armed lever with a bearing. Accordingly, all the disadvantages mentioned, namely wear and noise (if it is a simple journal bearing) or more expensive (if it is a special bearing) and increasing the mass, because the lever in the bearing area must be very strong, are eliminated. In addition, the rear can be made (considerably) longer than in the known case: If the rear is extended, the weight and space problems mentioned do not occur.
A- 3 902 207.It should be mentioned that a further surfboard is known (US-A-3 988 794), which is designed differently in details than the surfboard according to US-A-3 902 207 and therefore does not fall under the preamble of claim 1 but works with a two-armed lever as a clamping device for a narrow tongue in the rear area of the surfboard. Accordingly, the same disadvantages apply to this surfboard as to the surfboard according to US Pat. No. 3,902,207.
A further development of the invention is that the space above the tongue is filled with highly elastic material. That brings among other things the advantage that the feet of the surfer are cushioned, which is perceived as pleasant.
Furthermore, it is proposed that tongue-fixed or stringer-fixed bases are located below the stringer, which end at a short distance from the stringer or the tongue. In this way it is achieved that a downward bending of the tongue is limited.
It is also expedient if there are springs between the tongue and the stringer, which are preferably adjustable with regard to the spring characteristic. This measure serves to influence the bending line of the tongue when the tongue is bent upwards or downwards.
Further details of the invention emerge from the drawing.

Figures 1 and 2 show the rear end of a surfboard according to the invention. This consists of a tongue 1, two supports 2 and 3, a
Figure 3 shows this storage in detail. The
Figures 4 and 5 show the rear of another embodiment. This consists of a tongue 1, a
Figures 6 and 7 show an embodiment, which is characterized in that a tail corresponding to the design according to the invention retrofitted to a surf conventional type, in which the tail has been cut off, has been applied. The tongue 1 protrudes further forward than the rest of the tail. Your protruding part is attached to the remaining part of the surfboard by means of
The
