Description

The invention relates to an overflow protection for swimming pools according to the preamble of claim 1.

Attractions such as bays and flow channels are often installed in the swimming pool. When such flow devices are actuated, the water level at the edges of these pool sections increases markedly as a result of the centrifugal force. This water flows off over the edge of the pool and must be discharged through a water discharge device which is formed around the pool edge. As a result, additional water must be introduced into the pool to compensate for the increased water consumption. In addition to the additional consumption of water, there is an additional expenditure of energy for cleaning and heating this water. In order to avoid an undesired overflow of the pool edge when the water level is elevated, in particular due to wave formation, a vertically movable, rigid protective wall for bordering or temporarily increasing the existing pool edge is already known (DE-A 2 641 123). In the rest position this is located in a corresponding recess in the pool edge, from which it floats up to stops in the recess when the recess floods and returns to its rest position after draining the water. A hollow caisson, open at the bottom, serves as a buoyancy body. The disadvantage of this invention is that for guiding this protective wall, precise stops and guides must be formed in the pool border, the required recess in the pool border must be relatively deep and a seal is made between the protective wall and the recess, which does not allow water to drain, so that the Hit the waves hitting the bulkhead at full strength and disrupt and impair the desired water flow. In another device for swimming pools with wave pool operation (AI-B 352 951), inflatable or water-filled hoses are provided along the pool edges, which are filled with air or water and adjusted to the wave height before the wave machines are put into operation. In addition to the fact that an inflatable hose as a protective wall largely changes the pool surround and hampers its accessibility, an increased water drain cannot be prevented. The attachment of an inflatable tube also requires an appropriately trained pool rim.

The invention is therefore based on the object of creating an overflow protection for swimming pools at locations with an elevated water level, which allows only a limited water overflow even at an elevated water level.

This object is achieved with an overflow protection according to the preamble of claim 1 according to the invention by the characterizing features of this claim.

If a protective wall that rises above a pool edge is anchored so that it can be adjusted to a predetermined distance from the water overflow edge, the water overflow can be throttled as desired. An adjustable drainage gap can also be achieved on a protective wall, which can be lowered in the pool edge and can only be extended depending on the height of the water level. Here, buoyancy bodies which can be influenced by the water level or acted upon expansion bodies can control the respective height setting.

The protective wall can also be a swivel sector mounted at the level of the pool edge about a horizontal axis, the sector arch wall of which forms the closing gap with the water overflow edge and a buoyancy body is provided on the lower sector wall.

Finally, the protective wall can also be made height-adjustable in the form of a hollow body in an overflow channel. A drainage grate for the additional overflowing water can be provided in its surface and an expansion body can be attached to its bottom surface.

The inventive design of a protective wall with throttled water overflow can save water and energy. A more even utilization of the cleaning systems allows a smaller dimensioning of this system, since no design for otherwise occurring peak loads is necessary.

The invention can also be used for repairs in the foundation of sunken pools, the upper edge of which is no longer in a horizontal plane.

  • Fig. 1 einen Vertikalschnitt durch eine Überlaufschutzwand,
The invention is described in more detail with reference to exemplary embodiments which are also shown in the drawing. Show it:
  • 1 is a vertical section through an overflow protection wall,
  • 2 is a plan view of a swimming pool with a partially provided protective wall,
  • Fig. 3 is a built in a pool circulation, pivotable about a horizontal axis and
  • Fig. 4 a vertically raised and lowered protective wall built into a pool border.

In Fig. 1, a protective wall 1 is fastened next to a pool edge 2 by means of a screw bolt 3. By moving the same in an opening 4, a drain gap 5, which is formed by a water overflow edge 6 of the swimming pool 7, can be adjusted as required.

The overflow protection wall 1 is arranged at the locations of the basin where the flow forces cause the water to overflow. In Fig. 3 an embodiment of a movable overflow protection is shown. A pivoting sector 10 is pivotally mounted about an axis 12 arranged in the pool edge 11. The bottom has a trench-shaped recess 14, in which the movable swivel sector 10 rests at normal water level. The water drainage also takes place through this trench-shaped recess 14. There is a buoyancy on the lower sector wall 17 of the swivel sector 10 body 15 arranged. If the water level rises, the swivel sector is raised by the overflowing water and prevents overflow.

The expansion body 20 is acted upon when the flow is switched on and thus lifts the overflow protection wall in the form of a hollow body 21 which is installed in an overflow channel 22 and slides in the guides 23, 24. Additional overflowing water flows through a drain grate 25 and the hollow body 21.

The invention is not restricted to the examples shown. The control systems can also be exchanged or combined and used in wave pools or whirlpools.
