Abstract
Description
The invention is based on a radio frequency (RF) coil according to the preamble of claim 1 or claim 5. In the radio frequency range for numerous applications, such as e.g. Television technology, antenna technology, satellite broadcasting, satellite television, high-order RF filters with strict requirements with regard to minimal insertion loss, large blocking attenuation and steep transitions from the passband to the blocking regions are required. Such RF filters are implemented as passive LC filters with concentrated coils and high-quality capacitors. While suitable chip capacitors are available, the required coils, which are often designed as wire-wound coils with or without a ferrite core, pose a problem because they are unsuitable for efficient mass production.
From JP-OS / PS 55-91 804 a method for producing a coil is known, in which printed conductors are applied to the flat surfaces of a prefabricated ferrite core by means of a printing process, which are supplemented by bores in the ferrite core by means of pressure contacts to form closed windings. The achievable inductance of such coils is limited by the magnetic short-circuit effect between the individual turns.
No. 3,798,059 describes a thick-film coil with a ferromagnetic core. Layers of powdered ferromagnetic material and conductor track structures are applied alternately on a ceramic carrier, which are then sintered to form the finished coil. With this known coil, too, short circuits due to the magnetic material between the turns limit the achievable inductance.
No. 3,833,872 describes the manufacture of a monolithic miniature ferro-ceramic transformer. Conductor structures are applied to a band-shaped carrier, which is made from a mixture of a magnetically conductive and ceramic material. In one process step, a plurality of printed tapes and perforated tapes are brought together in such a way that a layer structure is formed, the conductor track structures on the individual layers being connected via the boreholes. The layer structure produced in this way is then sintered at high temperatures. The material for the conductor tracks must be suitable to withstand the high temperatures that occur during the sintering process. Expensive precious metals such as gold or platinum are used.
The conductor tracks are applied to the ferrite core using an elastically deformable stamp as an electrically conductive paste in a printing process. The coils produced by the known method are then installed, for example, in a layer circuit.
The high-frequency (RF) coil according to the invention has the advantage of simple, inexpensive manufacture. It is therefore suitable especially for the mass production of RF filters in the applications mentioned at the beginning. A recess for receiving a coil core is provided in a non-magnetic, preferably ceramic carrier.
In a first embodiment, the thickness of the coil core is approximately equal to the thickness of the carrier, so that a conductor track structure can be applied to the top and bottom of the carrier and the coil core, which can be supplemented with plated-through holes in the carrier to form closed turns. For many applications, the coil core lying in the recess is sufficient to fulfill specified coil data. An increase in inductance and an improvement in the field guidance result if magnetic material is applied to the top and / or bottom of the carrier, which at least partially covers the coil. Ferrite platelets are preferably suitable for this.
Toroidal core coils can be produced particularly advantageously with the RF coil according to the invention. Annular recesses are provided in the carrier for receiving the prefabricated toroidal cores.
In a second embodiment of the RF coil according to the invention, a cutout is provided in the carrier for receiving a coil core, the core axis being perpendicular to the carrier plane. On the top and / or the bottom of the carrier, a conductor track is applied around the recess in such a way that a coil turn is formed. A plated-through hole connects the conductor tracks when applied on both sides. In a further embodiment of the exemplary embodiment, a sleeve is fitted into the recess, in which the coil core is arranged so as to be displaceable in the direction perpendicular to the carrier.
Advantageous further developments and improvements of the RF coil specified in claim 1 and in the independent claim 5 are specified in further subclaims.
The simple structure of the RF coil according to the invention makes it particularly suitable for mass production. The mechanically stable construction leads to a good reproducibility of the coil data. In this context, it is advantageous that high process temperatures are not required, since the use of finished cores, ferrite platelets etc. does not require a sintering process which would involve a high temperature load. The elimination of high temperatures has the further advantage that an inexpensive conductor material can be used.
The good electrical data of the RF coil according to the invention should be emphasized. A high inductance is achieved with a small design at the same time. Magnetic short circuits of successive turns are reduced. Short, flat conductor tracks in connection with a high inductance result in a high coil quality. Flat conductor tracks not only result in a low ohmic resistance of the coil winding, but also improve the field guidance in the coil core. The field guidance in the coil core, which is given in the first exemplary embodiment by the ferrite plates applied on the top and / or underside, but in particular when the coil core is designed as a ring core, reduces the stray field and minimizes undesired couplings between adjacent coils in a miniaturized circuit structure.
Further details and advantageous developments of the RF coil according to the invention result from the following description of two exemplary embodiments.
Figure 1 zeigt ein erstes Ausführungsbeispiel einer erfindungsgemäßen HF-Spule, Figur 2 zeigt ein Schnittbild entlang der in Figur 1 angegebenen Schnittlinie II-II′, Figur 3 zeigt ein zweites Ausführungsbeispiel einer erfindungsgemäßen HF-Spule und Figur 4 zeigt ein Schnittbild entlang der in Figur 3 eingetragenen Schnittlinie IV-IV′.Figure 1 shows a first embodiment of an RF coil according to the invention, Figure 2 shows a sectional view along the section line II-II 'shown in Figure 1, Figure 3 shows a second embodiment of an RF coil according to the invention and Figure 4 shows a sectional view along the figure 3 entered section line IV-IV '.
Figure 2 shows a sectional view of the
In the first exemplary embodiment of the
Zwischen den Kontaktierungsstellen 37 und 42 liegen damit zwei Windungen der erfindungsgemäßen HF-Spule 39.FIG. 3 shows a second exemplary embodiment of the RF coil according to the invention, in which a
Figure 4 shows a sectional view of the
The
