Description

The invention relates to a low-voltage busbar with a hollow profile having a longitudinal slot and a conductor held in the hollow profile and accessible from the outside through the longitudinal slot, as well as an adapter for drawing current from the conductor.

Busbars are primarily known for the range of 220 volts in numerous embodiments. A conductor rail specially tailored to the low-voltage range is described in the utility model G 86 20 925.6 of the applicant. The use of low voltage in the order of 12 volts offers the possibility of creating extremely filigree lighting systems that hardly appear visually. In this respect, it is also known to hang low-voltage lights on two wires spanned in parallel in the room and to operate them. However, this system has a low stability and is therefore not applicable in all cases.

The invention has for its object to provide a slim and yet sufficiently stable conductor rail as a carrier for low-voltage lights.

This object is achieved in a low-voltage busbar of the type mentioned in that the adapter is formed like pliers and encompasses the busbar from the outside on both sides of the longitudinal slot and has a conductor pin which comes into contact with the conductor through the longitudinal slot.

The adapter, which can serve as a base for lights or other consumers, is essentially attached to the outside of the busbar. Because the interior of the power rail is not for attaching the adapter required, the cross section of the busbar can be kept extremely small. For the rest, only one conductor must be provided in the interior of the conductor rail, since it is permissible in the low-voltage range to use the metallic housing of the conductor rail as a second conductor in accordance with the relevant regulations.

In particular, the adapter preferably comprises two jaws which can be pivoted relative to one another and which have claws directed inwards at their ends and are mounted on a common shaft. The jaws with the claws can encompass the profile of the busbar as a whole, or the claws can enter longitudinal grooves on the opposite sides of the profile.

The two longitudinal grooves and a further, opposite the longitudinal slot, are preferably formed by appropriately drawing in the wall material of the hollow profile. In this way, the grooves have the function of beads which, despite the small cross section, give the hollow profile high rigidity.

The hollow profile preferably has an essentially elliptical cross section in which the longitudinal slot is located on a narrow side. In this way, a relatively high bending stiffness is achieved with the slot underneath.

The conductor is preferably held in an overall cross-sectionally U-shaped profile made of an elastic, non-conductive material, for example rubber or plastic, which is pressed with the closed side first into the longitudinal slot and whose leg is in the pressed-in position at the edges of the longitudinal slot Support and be slightly compressed by this, so that the conductor is clamped inside the U-profile.

In Figure 1, a busbar 10 is shown in a greatly enlarged cross section, the overall outline of which is substantially elliptical. A longitudinal slot 12 is located on the narrow side of the ellipse at the bottom in FIG. 1, which is generally also at the bottom in the assembled position of the busbar. The busbar thus represents a hollow profile which is open on one side and consists of a conductive material, in particular metal .

Grooves 14, 16 are provided on the broad sides of the ellipse on the right and left in FIG. 1, which are not machined into the surface of the hollow profile, but are formed by the sheet material being drawn in in an arc. A corresponding groove 18 is on the the longitudinal slot 12 opposite the upper side of the hollow profile.

In the longitudinal slot 12 of the busbar 10 a cross-sectionally U-shaped support profile 20 is inserted over its entire length. In the interior of the U-profile there is a circular extension 22 at the bottom thereof, in which a conductor 24 with a circular cross-section lies. The carrier profile 20 consists of an elastic, non-conductive material and thus also serves to receive and isolate the conductor 24. In the vicinity of the ends of the two legs of the U there are grooves 26, 28 on their outer sides, which engage with the ones not designated Allow edges of the longitudinal slot 12 of the busbar 10. The support profile 20 is dimensioned with respect to the width of the longitudinal slot 12 so that the legs of the support profile are compressed slightly elastically in the inserted position. In this way, the carrier profile is held securely. At the same time, the conductor is clamped. The carrier profile 20 is supported at the same time by inwardly directed bulges 30, 32, which are formed by forming the grooves 14, 16 on the outside of the busbar 10.

A busbar 34 according to FIG. 2 essentially corresponds to the busbar 10 according to FIG. 1, but is elongated in the direction of the main axis of the ellipse. Instead of the grooves 14, 16 provided on the broad sides according to FIG. 1, relatively wide grooves 36, 38 are provided in FIG. The grooves 36, 38 differ in their width from the grooves 14, 16 to the same extent as the busbars according to FIGS. 1 and 2 in the main dimension of their cross section. The profiles of the two busbars 10, 34 thus differ only in that, in the profile according to FIG. 2, flat wall sections are inserted in the middle on both sides, while the upper and lower end regions match those of the profile according to FIG. The purpose of these geometrical relationships will be discussed later.

The interior space additionally obtained in the hollow profile according to FIG. 2 can be used for the laying of additional lines 40. For example, these can be primary conductors that are used to supply additional transformers within the system.

Figures 3 and 4 show a connector or an adapter 42, which allows the connection of a lamp or other consumer, with essentially the same structure, but can also be used for power supply or as a carrier for hanging the busbar. The adapter comprises a cylindrical shaft 44, on which two jaws 46, 48 arranged in the form of pliers are pivotally mounted in a common axis 49. At the ends of the jaws 46, 48 there are inwardly projecting claws 50, 52. The position of the jaws shown in Figure 4 is their inner end position. From this end position, the jaws can be spread slightly. In its lower end region, the shaft 44 has an external thread, not designated, into which a screw sleeve 54 surrounding the shaft engages. A ring 56 surrounds the shaft at its lower end.

It can be seen from FIG. 4 that the rear sides, designated 58 and 60, of the two jaws 46, 48 lie in one plane in the inner end position of the jaws shown in FIG. The screw sleeve 54 is shown in FIGS. 3 and 4 in each case on the left side in an upward screwed position and on the right side in a downward screwed position. In the screwed down position, the screw sleeve 54 presses against the rear sides 58, 60 of the jaws 46, 48 via the ring 56, so that the jaws cannot be expanded.

According to FIG. 4, an arcuate leaf spring 62 is located in the interior of the jaws 46, 48, which biases the jaws slightly into the inner end position.

In the interior of the shaft 44 there is a coaxial bore 64 through which a cable, not shown, is passed. The bore 64 widens at its lower end to a coaxial, cylindrical chamber 66, in which a sleeve 68 made of insulating material is located. A further sleeve 72 provided with a flange 70 adjoins the sleeve 68 at the bottom in FIG. 3. The sleeve 72 has a concentric bore 74 in which a conductor pin 76 is guided to be vertically displaceable. The conductor pin 76 emerges downwards in FIGS. 3 and 4 into the space between the jaws 46, 48. It has a flange 78 at the upper end, which moves in the vertical direction within the sleeve 68, but has a larger diameter than the bore 74 of the lower sleeve 72 and thus forms a lower end stop for the conductor pin 76. Between the flange 78 and an inwardly projecting edge 80 at the upper end of the upper sleeve 68 there is a compression spring 82 which prestresses the conductor pin downwards.

As can also be seen from FIG. 3, the axis 49 is divided in the region of the lower sleeve 72.

The adapter 42 can be pushed onto the busbar 10, 34 from the outside and locked thereon. For this purpose, it is brought up to the conductor rail from below in the position opposite to that in FIG. The claws 50, 52 run onto the side flanks of the busbars 10, 34 on both sides of the longitudinal slot 12, so that the jaws 46, 48 are spread until the claws 50, 52 into the grooves 14, 16 or the grooves 36, 38 of the conductor rail. This leads to an audible Clicking noise and at least temporarily fixing the adapter to the track. During the processes described, the conductor pin 76 has resiliently come into contact with the conductor 24. When the screw sleeve 54 is tightened, spreading of the jaws 46, 48 is no longer possible. To release the adapter from the busbar, the screw sleeve 54 is first turned back, and then the adapter is tilted transversely to the busbar. One of the claws 50, 52 emerges from the associated groove 14, 16 or groove 36, 38.

Er kann also zum Aufhängen der Stromschiene an einer Decke oder auch zur Montage der Stromschiene auf einer Unterlage verwendet werden.FIG. 5 shows a holder 84 for busbars 10, 34, which completely matches the adapter 42 described above, except that there is no conductor pin 76 and the directly associated parts. The holder can be slid onto a busbar from above as well as from below, based on FIGS. 1 and 2, and clamped thereon in the manner described. It can therefore be used to hang the conductor rail on a ceiling or to mount the conductor rail on a surface.

The adapter 42 according to FIGS. 3 and 4 can be used not only to supply consumers attached to the busbar, but also to feed current into the busbar. The connection to the conductor 24 can be established in the manner already described. A connection to the rail serving as a second pole is also possible, provided the adapter is placed on the rail from above in FIGS. 1 and 2. In this case, the conductor pin 16 enters the upper groove 18.

In the exemplary embodiments described above, the electrical contacting of the conductive busbar housing takes place directly via the jaws 46, 48 made of conductive material and the shaft 44 of the adapter. If the busbar 10 is painted and thus has an electrically insulating surface, a modified embodiment of the adapter 42 is used, which is to be explained below with reference to FIGS. 6 and 7.

In this embodiment, the jaws 46, 48 are made of plastic, and the electrical contact is made with the aid of resilient contact tongues 86, which press against the unpainted, outwardly sloping edges of the longitudinal slot 12 of the busbar. The contact tongues 86 are each angled downward at their inner end and held on the axis 49 between the bearing sections of the jaws 46, 48 in such a way that they abut a head section 88 of the shaft 44. The shaft 44 is screwed at its lower end to a cantilever tube 90 which is also made of conductive material.

Instead of the screw sleeve 54, a locking sleeve 94 provided with a handle 92 is provided in this embodiment, which can be locked in a bayonet-like manner on the shaft 44. The locking sleeve 94 has an oval cross section and is provided on its inner circumference with lugs 96 lying on the larger axis of the oval, which together with projections 98 formed on part of the circumference of the shaft 44 bring about the bayonet-like locking.

The conductor pin 76 is slidably guided in an insulating sleeve 100 which on its outer circumference with a circumferential groove 102 is provided and is secured against axial displacement by the ends of the two sections of the axis 49. The conductor pin 76 is soldered at its lower end to a conductive connecting piece 104, for example a copper rod, which is surrounded in its central portion by insulation 106 and extends coaxially through the shaft 44 and the extension tube 90 to a rotary coupling 108, which according to FIG lower end of the boom tube is attached.

The rotary coupling 108 has a housing 110 made of plastic, on which a holder 112 for a lamp or the like is attached or formed. The housing 110 is rotatable on a collar 114 of a bush 116 screwed to the extension tube 90 and accommodates a seat 120 provided with an inner cone 118 made of conductive material, which is biased by a spring 122 against the stripped lower end of the connecting piece 104. The seat 120 is electrically insulated from the conductive socket 116 by a cup-shaped guide bush 124 and is connected via a conductive ring 126 to a connecting cable 128 of the lamp (not shown). Another connecting cable 130 of the lamp is connected to a tongue 132 of a contact plate 134 which is in sliding contact with the circumference of the socket 116. The rotary coupling 108 thus creates a conductive connection to the busbar housing via the contact plate 134, the bushing 116 and the extension tube 90 and a conductive connection to the conductor pin 76 and thus to the conductor 24 of the busbar via the seat 120 and the connecting piece 104. The spring pin 76 prestresses the conductor pin 76 against the conductor 24 and at the same time ensures a sufficient contact pressure between the connecting piece 104, the seat 120 and the ring 126.
