Abstract

Zur Herstellung von Fasern aus Polyätherimid wird das Granulat auf einen Feuchtigkeitsgehalt von unter 0,05% gebracht, die Schmelze bei einer Temperatur zwischen 300 und 440°C aus Düsen extrudiert und die gesponnene Faser mit einer Geschwindigkeit von bis zu 2 500 m/min aufgewickelt. Derartig hergestellte Fasern sind um bis zu 1 : 3 verstreckbar und spinngefärbt.
