Abstract

The invention relates to an assembly for a door consisting of a frame and panelling, the frame consisting of side parts (1,2) and rail pieces (3, 4, 5, 6) which can be interconnected, while inserting the panelling (7, 8), by means of premanufactured connecting elements (25), it being possible for different vertical positions of the rail pieces to be selected. Such an assembly enables the handyman to make a door in a cost-saving manner according to his own ideas. <IMAGE>

Description

The previously known, factory-made door leaves contain an all-round frame, an inner panel and cover plates made of wood or other materials (which can be veneered, painted or surface-treated in some other way). The required light openings have so far been created inside the frame and subsequently cut out.

If one takes into account the different dimensions and embodiments (such as style doors and country house doors) in which such doors are required by the customers, it is clear that both the production, the transport and the storage of these doors cause considerable effort.

In the course of increasing do-it-yourself activity, there is also a considerable need for a cost-saving possibility for the customer to at least partially build the door he desires using a certain amount of his own working time and also to carry out certain variations in the design.

The invention is therefore based on the object of a possibility for the cost-saving production of a door in different versions To create, whereby the manufacturing possibilities in the factory are exploited and improved, transport and storage simplified and a work contribution of the handyman.

This object is achieved according to the invention by means of a kit for a door consisting of frame and paneling, the frame consisting of side parts and frieze pieces which can be connected to one another by inserting the paneling via prefabricated connecting elements at different heights.

Appropriate embodiments of the invention are the subject of the dependent claims.

The individual parts of the kit according to the invention are prepared in the factory using the rational manufacturing possibilities given here so that the customer or handyman can assemble the door from the kit elements in a simple manner and without special tools. Due to the significantly smaller dimensions of the kit compared to a finished door, transportation and storage are considerably simplified.

A particular advantage of the kit according to the invention is that the customer has doors of very different character (in particular style) due to the different arrangement of the frieze pieces doors and country house doors), whereby he does not have to make the appropriate choice when buying the kit, but only when the door is finally assembled.

In terms of production technology, it is particularly advantageous that, using the same elements to a large extent, different kits can be put together for differently designed doors, for example with frieze pieces and fillings of the required width, with differently designed fillings with the same dimensions of the side parts and frieze pieces, etc.

There is also the option of dividing the kit into individual kit groups, for example, a first kit group containing the side parts, a second kit group containing the frieze pieces of the frame, a third kit group containing the filler and a fourth kit group including any additional profile strips used. In this way, the customer can vary the side parts and friezes of the frame, the filling and the profile strips, which results in an unprecedented variety in design while at the same time saving considerable costs in production, storage and distribution.

According to the invention, the side parts and the frieze pieces of the frame are expediently permanently connected to one another by means of dowels, in particular made of hardwood. These dowels suitably form a loose part of the kit and are glued into blind holes in the side parts and the frieze pieces of the frame. In addition, a tongue and groove connection can be provided.

It is also possible to shorten the width of the door leaf in order to achieve a narrower dimension than the standard dimension. For this purpose, the length of the blind holes provided in the frieze pieces is chosen to be greater than the length of the dowels intended to engage in these holes. By cutting off the frieze pieces and the filling, the width of the door can then be easily changed by the handyman.

The kit for manufacturing shown in Fig. 1 a door contains two side parts 1, 2, four frieze pieces 3, 4, 5, 6 and two panel parts 7, 8.

Hardwood dowels 25 are used to connect the frieze pieces 3 to 6 to the side parts 1 and 2, which engage in prefabricated blind holes in the side parts and the frieze pieces and are glued in these holes.

For additional stiffening of the connection, the frieze pieces 3 to 6 are provided on their end faces with projecting webs 26 which engage in corresponding grooves in the side parts 1, 2 and thereby result in an additional tongue and groove connection.

The frieze pieces 3 to 6 are also provided on their respective longitudinal sides facing the respective filling parts 7, 8 with grooves 27 into which the filling parts 7, 8 engage in a form-fitting manner. The filling parts 7, 8 also engage in the assembled state of the door in grooves on the inside of the side parts 1 and 2. The upper frieze piece 3 has a usual fold on its upper long side, while the lower frieze piece 6 is made blunt on its lower long side or is optionally provided with blind holes or elongated holes for receiving dowels of a protective rail 31 to be attached there.

In order to be able to produce different doors from the kit illustrated in FIG. 1, the side parts 1, 2 have more blind holes than dowel holes are provided on the frieze pieces 3 to 6. As a result, the frieze pieces can be connected to the side parts at different heights.

In the variant according to FIG. 3, which represents a country house door, on the other hand, the lower and upper transverse friezes are each formed by a frieze piece 6 and 3, while the other two frieze pieces 4 and 5 form two middle transverse friezes arranged at a distance from one another. In the case of Figure 3, three filling parts 7ʹ, 7ʺ, 8 are provided, the filling parts 7ʹ, 7ʺ can be made by dividing the filling part 7 (see FIG. 1) by the handyman himself.

Appropriately, the groove 27 provided in the uppermost frieze piece 3 is deeper than the grooves 27 present in the other frieze pieces 4, 5, 6 and Fig.3 results.

2 and 3 also show a fairly simple design of the two side parts 1 and 2. 4 and 5 show further variants which can be produced using a kit according to the invention: in the exemplary embodiment according to FIG. 4, three frieze pieces 3, 4, 5 and two filling parts 7, 8 are provided, while the variant according to FIG. 5 under use is produced from only two frieze pieces 3 and 4 and a filling part 7.

In the exemplary embodiment according to FIG. 4, both side parts 1 and 2 are provided with optionally usable devices (e.g. recesses, reinforcements and devices) for receiving the straps 9 and with optionally usable devices 10 for receiving the lock, the handle set and the key. The optionally usable devices preferably have detachable covers, so that one and the same door can optionally be used as a left or right door (in FIG. 4, the hinges 9 and the devices 10 used are therefore fully extended and the nonexistent hinges 9 or the unused devices 10 indicated by dashed lines).

Just like the filling parts, the frame, consisting of the side parts and the frieze pieces, can be made from a wide variety of materials (e.g. wood, chipboard, plastic, metal, composite material, etc.).

According to an expedient embodiment of the invention, at least the side parts and the frieze pieces are made from a particle board which is veneered, laminated or painted on the outside and which is reinforced at highly stressed points, in particular at the points intended for fastening the bands and the lock by dowels, preferably made of hardwood.

The kit can also contain profile strips that are placed on the edge of the filling point at the transition between the filling parts and the side parts and frieze pieces. It goes without saying that these profile strips can be designed differently depending on the type of door.

By combining the most varied of embodiments, materials and surface treatments for the side parts, the frieze pieces, the filling parts and / or the profile strips, the user has a wide variety of design options.

The possibility of variation for the handyman is particularly great here if separate packing units of the kit are provided for the side parts, the frieze pieces, the filling parts and / or the profile strips, so that the customer can choose from a larger number of design options when purchasing the kit .

It also goes without saying that both the side parts and the frieze pieces, the filling parts and strips can each be veneered in different types of wood, painted in different colors, laminated or made of wood, plastic, aluminum or other materials. While - as mentioned at the beginning - openings have to be cut out in known designs, for example if glass panes are to be used as light openings, such light openings for receiving glass panes can be taken into account in a very variable manner from the outset in the embodiment according to the invention, without any subsequent addition must be cut out. With this door according to the invention, therefore, only the parts forming the frame (with the filling parts still required) need to be assembled in such a way that the desired light opening (or other cutouts) results.

The door produced from the kit according to the invention can also be provided with a double filling or can be designed to be of particularly high quality by other measures.

Despite its very inexpensive manufacture, the external appearance of the door produced from the kit according to the invention corresponds to the appearance of a valuable one-piece door, in particular a style door or country house door.

Fig. 6 shows an embodiment for the side part 1ʹ of a door that has two identical side parts, but can still be used on the left or right. This side part 1ʹ is provided with two side folds 1a, both devices 11 (e.g. recesses) for receiving the hinges and devices 10 (e.g. recesses) for receiving the lock, lever handle and key are provided in the region of both folds. In one side part lʹ of this door the devices 10 and in the other side part the devices 11 are active. The devices not required are covered by removable covers, for example perforated covers.

The design of the side parts 1ʹ previously explained with reference to FIG. 6 opens up the extremely advantageous possibility of using a door constructed in this way with side parts of the same design for the frame, both for opening to the left and for opening to the right, in each case the devices 10 or 11 for receiving the lock, the handle set and the key or the hinges are always provided in the corresponding standard heights of the door. The side parts 1 can also be rotated about a horizontal axis for the optional design of the height of the lock and handle set.

The side parts 1ʹ which can be used in different positions also have an upper and a lower fold 1c, 1d, the lower fold 1d in the selected installation position - as shown - by a strip 12, e.g. Square bar that can be covered.

Fig. 7 illustrates an embodiment in which the side parts 1ʺ which can optionally be used in two layers are likewise provided with two side folds each, the inner fold in the selected installation position being covered by a strip 13 or 14. The right side part 1ʺ is provided in the region of its two lateral folds with optionally usable devices 11 for receiving the tapes. The left side part 1ʺ is provided in the area of its side folds with optionally usable devices 10 for receiving the lock, the handle set and the key. This version also allows the user to use the same kit to produce a door hinged on the left or right by simply arranging the correspondingly prepared side parts on the corresponding door sides.

Figures 8 to 15 illustrate some other connection options, but these are to be understood as examples.

According to Figure 8, the side part 2 and the frieze 3 are connected via a bolt 15 and two eccentrics 16, 17.

FIG. 9 shows a simple screw connection (mitred), consisting of a threaded sleeve 18 inserted into the side part 2 and a screw 19 passed through the frieze piece 3. The screw connection can either (as shown) be covered in the fold from the outside by means of a cover cap or hidden from the inside in the groove of the frame.

It goes without saying that a positive connection similar to FIG. 13 as well as an adhesive connection can also be selected in addition to the types of connection shown in FIGS. 8 to 12.

Although basically also with the in the Fig. 8 to 13 illustrated connection types can achieve that the frieze pieces can be connected to the side parts via prefabricated connecting elements in different selectable heights, so far the simplest connection option is the one illustrated in FIGS an additional tongue and groove connection.

FIG. 14 illustrates a possibility for this variant illustrated with the aid of FIGS. 1 to 3 in order to make the gluing process easier for the handyman (who often has no screw clamps available). For this purpose, the side parts 1, 2 contain at least at some of the points to be glued to the frieze pieces 3 to 6 (preferably in the area of the four corners of the door) stepped bores 28, through which (not shown) connecting screws can be screwed into the frieze pieces. The bores 28 are then covered by a cap which is preferably seated flush. During assembly, the handyman assembles side parts, frieze pieces and filling and secures the gluing process by means of the screws inserted through the bores 28 into the frieze pieces.

Fig. 15 finally illustrates one way in which the width of the door is below the norm can be reduced. For this purpose, the length of the blind holes 29 provided in the frieze pieces 3 to 6 is greater than the length of the dowels 25 intended to engage in these holes. By cutting off the frieze pieces 3 to 6 (and the filling parts 7, 8), approximately along the length in FIG 15 dash-dotted line 30, the overall width of the door can be reduced in a simple manner, the engagement of the filling parts 7, 8 in the grooves of the side parts 1 and 2 is still ensured.

According to the invention, shortening the height of the door is also possible by cutting off the frame. For this purpose, the side parts of the frame and the lower frieze piece 6 each have elongated holes on the underside, into which dowels 31 (cf. FIG. 1) serving to fasten a protective rail engage, the length of which is shorter than that of the elongated holes. By cutting off the side parts and the lower frieze piece 6, the height of the door can then also be adapted to the respective application.

The grooves provided in the side parts 1, 2 suitably correspond to the thickness of the filling parts 7, 8. The thickness of the dowels used to fasten the two middle frieze pieces 4, 5 is expediently chosen to be somewhat less than the groove thickness. For the dowels used to fasten the top and bottom frieze pieces 3 and 6, on the other hand, a greater thickness can be selected, since no variation in height must be provided for these frieze pieces.

The dimensions of the individual parts of the fiction kits can be varied within wide limits depending on the needs. The two side parts and frieze pieces can, for example, be held approximately 16 cm wide and approximately 40 mm (or more) thick. The filling can be chosen in the thickness of the frame or weaker. As already mentioned, there are numerous possibilities for the design of the filling. The construction of the filling from several lamellae is advantageous, in particular with regard to a large range of variation. Duplications are also possible.

For the devices (in particular recesses) for receiving the straps and the lock, the handle set and the key, for example, pre-punched and thus invisible covers can be provided or visible covers that are designed so that they fit flat and thus hardly visible in the workpiece . Of course there is also the possibility to make these elements visible for decorative reasons.
