Bei einer Postenwaschmachine, welche durch eine Förderschnecke (2) in Waschkammern (I ...V) unterteilt ist, kann in der letzten Waschkammer (V) eine Badstandsreduzierung dadurch vorgenommen werden, daß die Förderschnecke (2) (bzw. die Waschtrommel (1)) in einem den Reversierwinkel von 300° für die Waschbewegung der Waschtrommel übersteigenden Bereich gelocht ist und man die Waschtrommel im Bedarfsfalle in den Bereich der Lochung (8) bzw. (9) dreht. Nach der erforderlichen Zeit kann entweder weitergewaschen oder entladen werden. Die aus einem waagrecht liegenden Rohr 1 bestehende Waschtrommel 1 ist in einzelne Waschkammern I bis V unterteilt und zwar vorteilhaft mittels einers wendelförmigen Forderschnecke 2. Es ergeben sich so die Vorwaschzone (I), die Klarwaschzone (II und III) sowie die Spülzone (IV and V). Um in der Klarwaschzone II und III sowie in der Spülzone IV einen Badwechsel vornehmen zu können, ist hier die Waschtrommel 1 mit Abstand von einem weiteren Trommelmantel 3 umgeben, welcher ebenfalls in Kammern unterteilt ist und mit Zuleitungen 4 für Frischwasser oder Chemikalien sowie mit Ableitungen 5 für die Waschlauge versehen ist. Auch ist es möglich das Spülwasser aus der Spülkammer IV bzw. V in Zwischenbehälter 6 und 7 aufzufangen und gegebenenfalls in eine der vorderen Kammern zur weiteren Nutzung zurückzuführen, wie in der Fig. 1 angedeutet ist. Die letzte Kammer V (Spülkammer) ist nicht von dem Trommelmantel 3 umgeben, und doch kann auch in dieser Kammer eine Badstandsregulierung vorgenommen werden. Die Förderschnecke 2 und/oder die Waschtrommel 1 weist in einem den Reversierwinkel übersteigenden Bereich eine Lochung 8 bzw. 9 auf. Es genügt zur Badstandsregulierung mit der Lochung bis unterhalb des normalen Badstandes zu fahren und einen Teil der Lauge abfließen zu lassen, um anschließend den Waschgang wieder fortzusetzen. Dies ist wesentlich einfacher als die Kammer V ebenfalls mit einem weiteren Mantel sowie mit Zu- und Ablaufanschlüssen zu versehen.
