Description

The present invention relates to devices for producing heat, and more particularly to devices which make it possible to supply heat energy for the heating of premises such as, for example, residential premises, these devices being commonly called "radiators". .

To heat premises, there are many devices that use all energies, fuel, coal, wood, gas, etc ... and electricity. Electricity is a very practical energy because it does not require significant and messy handling on the part of users. On the other hand, it is quite obvious that this electrical energy must be converted into heat energy. To do this, different converters are used, for example heating resistors which have a relatively low efficiency. Also, for some time now, we have started using converters which transform electrical energy into electromagnetic waves of a determined frequency which, themselves, heat liquids like water by causing the vibration of their molecules. . The liquids in turn heat radiators which transmit calories to the ambient air and thus heat the premises.

We quickly realized that this type of radiators could give good results, because the efficiency obtained is, in general, higher than that of other converters such as, for example, heating resistors.

Generally, such a type of radiator comprises a sealed enclosure made of a material which is a good thermal conductor in which a liquid such as water is placed. With this enclosure, is associated a source of electromagnetic waves of high frequency, of the order of 2400 megahertz, like, for example, a magnetron which emits these waves towards the liquid which is thus heated. This hot liquid transmits calories to the walls of the enclosure which thus heat the ambient air in which the enclosure is placed, until the air has the desired temperature.

The performance of such a radiator is weakened by the relative poor transmission of calories from the liquid to the walls of the enclosure. To improve this transmission, it has been proposed to have, in the enclosure, porous or spongy materials such as foams or tissues making it possible to distribute the liquid by capillarity throughout the space of the enclosure, which improves the heat exchanges. between this liquid and the wall of the enclosure like that which has been described in FR-A-2 567 706.

In fact, such an embodiment is difficult to implement and relatively expensive. In addition, the fabrics or foams used do not always allow a uniform distribution of the capillarity and therefore continuous contact of the liquid with the walls of the enclosure. Finally, the heating of these materials fairly quickly leads to their degradation.

Also, the present invention aims to overcome the drawbacks mentioned above and to produce a device for producing heat by means of microwaves for heating the ambient environments of premises, which is both a good performance and a simple design, at least simpler than that of the prior art, while being less expensive.

More specifically, the subject of the present invention is a device for producing heat comprising
  • an enclosure at least part of the side walls of which is made of a relatively good thermal conductive material, said enclosure being capable of containing a liquid, and
  • a source of electromagnetic waves capable of radiating said waves in at least part of the space defined inside said enclosure, said waves being capable of heating said liquid by being absorbed by the latter,

Other characteristics and advantages of the present invention will appear during the following description given with reference to the drawing annexed by way of illustration but in no way limiting, in which FIGS. 1 and 2 represent respectively in section and in schematic perspective the same embodiment of a device for producing heat according to the invention.

The two Figures 1 and 2 represent the same embodiment of a heat production device, the same references designate the same elements there.

The illustrated embodiment comprises a sealed enclosure 1 of generally parallelepiped shape defining an interior space 2. This enclosure is advantageously made of a material that is good or relatively good thermal conductor, such as copper, aluminum. cast iron, stainless steel, etc., but preferably forming a screen, and advantageously a reflector, with electromagnetic waves such as those of the microwave category, unlike, for example, glass , plastic and porcelain.

Le fond 3 de l'enceinte est conformé en un récipient 4 apte à contenir un liquide comme, par exemple, de l'eau 5.The bottom 3 of the enclosure is shaped into a container 4 capable of containing a liquid such as, for example, water 5.

With this enclosure is associated a source 6 of electromagnetic waves whose output window 7 of these waves is located in the enclosure 1, in order to be able to radiate in at least part 8 of the space 2 defined by the enclosure 1.

Advantageously, this source 6 consists of an electronic element such as a magnetron 9 emitting microns of 2450 megahertz capable of being supplied by its input 10 from an electrical power supply well known in itself and which will not be described more fully.

The window 7 for the radiation from the source 6 is protected by a screen 11 transparent to the electromagnetic waves emitted by this source 6. This screen 11 can be formed, for example, by a glass bell associated with the wall of the l enclosure 1 by a sealed passage 12 obtained by a gasket 13 made of a material resistant to heat.

According to an important structural characteristic, the device comprises means 20 for spraying liquid 5 contained in the container 4, so that the drops first pass through the part 8 of the space 2 in which the source is able to radiate 6. The drops then move towards the internal surface 21 of the enclosure 1, in this case the upper parts 22 of the walls vertical lateral 23 and the upper wall 24 and strike this internal surface 21, then fall back into the container 4, dripping onto the surface 21.

In an advantageous embodiment, these spraying means 20 consist of a suction and discharge pump 30. The inlet 31 of the pump 30 is connected to a first pipe 32 whose inlet 33 is located in the bottom 34 of the container 4 and which passes through the bottom wall 3 of the enclosure 1, while the outlet 35 of this pump is connected to the interior 2 of the enclosure 1 by a second pipe 36, the outlet 37 of which comprises a nozzle 38 arranged for that its ejection cone 39 intersects at most with that of the radiation 8 from the source 6. In this way, a maximum number of drops of sprayed liquid can be subjected to radiation 8, before striking the interior walls 21 of the pregnant.

Of course, all of the elements such as the pump 30, the magnetron body and its power supply, possibly its peripheral control elements, its filtering by capacities, its cooling means, etc. will advantageously be placed in an adjacent envelope 50 to enclosure 1, in order to minimize the size and the manufacturing price of such a device.

The device described above operates as follows:
The container 4 is filled with a certain amount of water, for example a liter or two for an enclosure with a volume of ten liters. The source 6 and the pump 30 are started simultaneously. At the outlet of the nozzle 38, there is a spraying of water with the formation of a multitude of drops which pass through the radiation space 8 of the source. These drops are then heated by the known principle of molecular vibration produced by microwaves which excite molecules at a given frequency. The drops are simultaneously projected towards the interior wall 21 of the enclosure in order to strike them and fall back towards the container 4.

By hitting this wall and flowing over it, the drops exchange with it their calories and thus heat the enclosure 1. The enclosure in turn heats the ambient air in which it is placed, as all radiators do space heating.

We see the advantage of such a device which allows the principle of microwave heating to be used by eliminating all the accessory elements arranged inside the enclosure used in the prior art and which limited the duration of life of these devices, and using only elements without high technicality, which greatly simplifies maintenance. In addition, the spraying of water allows microwaves to act on the water molecules faster and more completely, as well as better heat distribution, which gives the device a very good thermal efficiency.

Of course, such a device can also include an electronic control unit 60 for controlling the start-up of both the pump 30 and the source 6 as a function of different parameters which may be the temperature inside the enclosure. 1, the temperature of the ambient air in which the enclosure is placed, the instants and periodicity of operation of the device, and ...

Thus, the device can include a first temperature probe 61 placed inside the enclosure 2, outside of the container 4 and preferably at a fairly high point, the outlet 62 of which is connected to a control input 63 of the unit 60 which analyzes the signal obtained at the output of the probe 61 and commands the stop of the operation of the source 6 and of the pump 30 when the value of this signal exceeds a predetermined threshold corresponding to a temperature value to be not exceed in enclosure 1.

The device can also include a second probe 64 which is placed in ambient air to measure the temperature and be able to maintain it at the desired value. In fact, the control unit 60 makes it possible, by an adjustment button 65, to be able to display the value on which the temperature of the ambient air must be regulated.

De même, l'unité de contrôle 60 peut comporter un programmateur interne associé à une horloge pour obtenir une commande cyclique du fonctionnement du dispositif, le programmateur étant réglé au moyen d'un deuxième bouton 66.Likewise, the control unit 60 may include an internal programmer associated with a clock to obtain a cyclic command of the operation of the device, the programmer being adjusted by means of a second button 66.

The device can, in addition, include safety members such as, for example, a safety valve 70 which can open if the pressure inside the enclosure exceeds a certain value at which this valve is advantageously set at the summit of the enclosure.

Enfin, dans le but d'améliorer l'échange thermique entre les parois de l'enceinte et l'air ambiant, ces parois peuvent comporter, sur leur face externe, des parties en saillie radiantes comme des ailettes de radiation 80.Finally, in order to improve the heat exchange between the walls of the enclosure and the ambient air, these walls may comprise, on their external face, radiant projecting parts such as radiation fins 80.
