Description

The invention relates to a compressed air weapon of the type provided with a piston capable of causing the compression of the air contained in a chamber and of a spring acting on the piston.

This weapon can be a rifle, a revolver or other, intended for competition, a toy, etc.

It is known that the major drawback of spring and piston weapons is undoubtedly manual arming, which is always difficult even for an adult.

This drawback is present in the weapons of the aforementioned type which are described in DE-B-1 093 706 and DE-C-709 520. In these weapons the compression of the air contained in the chamber is obtained by manual displacement of the piston in this chamber, this piston compressing the spring. In the weapon according to DE-B-1 093 706 the chamber is telescopic, the front tube, containing the piston, can be brought back to arm the weapon. In the weapon according to DE-C-709 520 the piston is moved by compressing the spring by a lever during the "breaking" of the weapon.

The object of the invention is to remedy said drawback and other disadvantages of known compressed air weapons so as to obtain a weapon no longer requiring arming by "breaking" or telescoping the weapon.

To this end, the weapon comprises a transport mechanism for moving the piston in a direction against the spring, this mechanism comprising an electric motor powered by battery, a rigid movable element linearly movable in a direction parallel to the direction of displacement of the piston and a mechanical transmission between this mobile element and the motor transforming the rotary movement of the motor axis into a linear translation of the mobile element, and hooking means mounted on the mobile element for hooking, when translation of the piston against the spring, a part moving with this piston, the motor, the battery and the transport mechanism being incorporated in the weapon.

An air gun containing a transport mechanism for moving the piston is known from US-A-2 834 332. In this patent, a toy weapon is described, the breech of which acts as a piston which can cause the compression of the contained air. in a room. The transport mechanism moving the cylinder head forming a piston against a spring to compress the air is an electromagnet whose solenoid is powered by a battery mounted in the butt. In a real airgun it is not only not practical that the breech is mobile but especially the energies in play are a thousand times stronger than in a toy. If in a real weapon a solenoid would be used it would be a huge solenoid, totally impossible to incorporate in the weapon.

Cet appareil n'utilise cependant pas d'air comprimé comme force motrice pour le projectile mais la pièce de plomb qui est mis en mouvement par la détention du ressort engage et propulse directement le projectile.US-A-3,192,915 relates to an apparatus for launching food projectiles which comprises in one embodiment a mechanism for moving in a chamber a piece of lead against a spring, this mechanism comprising a cable connected to the lead piece and wound on a drum driven by an electric motor. However, this device does not use compressed air as a motive force for the projectile, but the piece of lead which is set in motion by the detention of the spring engages and propels the projectile directly.

In addition, the cable is fixed permanently to the lead piece so that when the spring is released the cable is suddenly unwound at high speed. US-A-3,192,915 also describes an embodiment with compressed air, but this embodiment does not include a spring, a piece of lead, or a piston, the air being compressed in a reservoir by a compressor.

In a particular embodiment of the invention, the mechanical transmission comprises a rotary element rotatably mounted in the weapon, and cooperating with the mobile element so that a rotation of the rotary element is transformed into a translation of the movable element.

La figure 4 représente une coupe selon la ligne IV-IV de la figure 3;
In order to better highlight the characteristics and advantages of the invention, examples of implementation are described below with reference to the appended drawings, in which:
Figure 1 schematically shows a rifle according to the invention;
Figure 2 shows on an enlarged scale the part indicated by F2 in Figure 1;
Figure 3 shows a view similar to that of Figure 2 but for a variant;
Figure 4 shows a section along the line IV-IV of Figure 3;
Figures 5 and 6 show views similar to that of Figure 3, in two other positions.

La figure 1 représente une carabine à air 1 constituée, de manière traditionelle, par deux parties principales, notamment le canon 2 et la crosse 3 incorporant les éléments d'armement, de détente, etc...FIG. 1 represents an air rifle 1 constituted, in a traditional manner, by two main parts, in particular the barrel 2 and the stock 3 incorporating the elements of cocking, trigger, etc ...

In this schematic embodiment are also shown: the compressed air chamber 4 provided with an outlet channel 5; the compressed air piston 6, the rod 7 of which is surrounded by a coil spring 8 trapped between said piston 6 and the stock 3; a hooking device 9 between the rod 7 and a threaded rod 10 and, finally, a toothed nut 11 meshing with a toothed wheel 12 driven by an electric geared motor 13 connected to a battery 14.

The device 9 is shown diagrammatically by a pivotable part 15 which can be hooked to the hook-shaped end 16 of said threaded rod 10, the part 15 being provided, for its release, with an inclined plane 17 which can cooperate with a stop 18 forming, in a way, the trigger of the weapon adequately connected to the trigger 19. The stop 18 can be controlled by the trigger 19 while the reversible motor-reducer 13 can be controlled by the arming button 20.

The operation of the rifle according to the invention is as follows.

The actuation of the push button 20 supplies the current to said gear motor 13 driving the toothed wheel 12 and, thus, the nut 11. Therefore, the threaded rod 10 is moved, to the right in the drawing, causing the hooking of said part 15 by the hook 16, thereby compressing the spring 8. The movement of said piston 6 is stopped when the inclined plane of said part 15 is just next to the stop 18. The stopping of the gear motor 13 can, for example, be determined by a limit switch, not shown in the drawings.

It is advisable, at this moment, to activate the trigger 19 in order to move or to pivot the stop 18 thus causing said part 15, which finally releases the piston 6. The latter, under the action of spring 8, is propelled towards the front, thus compressing the air contained in the chamber 4 used to launch the projectile placed in the barrel 2.

During its forward movement of the piston 6, the rod 7 actuates a switch, not shown in the drawings, controlling the gear motor 13 in the opposite direction so that the hook 16 comes again to engage the part 15 of the rod 7 in view of a next armament.

In Figures 3 to 6 is shown an alternative embodiment in which we find the above elements 1 to 8, 10 to 13, the trigger 18, the trigger 19 and the cocking button 20. In this embodiment the piston 6 is constituted by a part 21 extended by a tube-shaped part 22. The latter is provided with three oblong slots 23-24-25 serving, respectively, for guiding the piston 6 in the body 26 by means of a guide 27, thus avoiding the piston 6 to rotate about its axis, the attachment with the pusher 28 and the attachment of the trigger 18.

The piston 6 is provided with a guide rod 29 sliding in a tube 30 fixed to the body 26.

Ledit ressort 8 entoure la tige 29 et, respectivement, le tube 30.Said spring 8 surrounds the rod 29 and, respectively, the tube 30.

The trigger 18 is adequately connected to the trigger 19. Below the compressed air chamber 4 is mounted the gear motor 13 whose outlet axis 31 is connected to the threaded rod 10 on which is mounted rotary, the translation nut 11. On the latter is mounted, pivotable about an axis 32, the pusher 28 located between two stops, respectively 33-34, and biased by a spring 35 fixed on the nut itself.

On either side, the nut 11 can actuate the two limit switches, respectively 36-37.

The operation of the execution according to FIGS. 3 to 6 is as follows.

In the unarmed position, the rifle is in the state as shown in FIG. 3. The piston 6 is in its extreme front position, the spring 8 is relaxed, the pusher 28 is in the groove 24 of the tube 22 and is held against the stop 33 by the rod 38.

The cocking of the rifle begins with the depressing of the button 20, thus supplying the motor 13 via the battery integrated in the stock and rotating the threaded rod 10.

The rod 38 continues to maintain the pusher 28 in the vertical position as long as the torque exerted by the spring 39 on the rod 38 is greater than the torque exerted by the return spring 35 on the pusher 28.

De cette manière, l'écrou 11, par l'intermédiaire du poussoir 28, entraîne le piston 6 vers l'arrière en comprimant à la fois le ressort d'armement 8.At a given moment, the pusher 28 comes into contact with the piston 6, more particularly with the tube 22 of this piston 6, thus canceling out the usefulness of the rod 38. In this way, the nut 11, via of the pusher 28, drives the piston 6 towards the rear while compressing both the arming spring 8.

When the nut 11 arrives in its rear extreme position, the piston 6, via the opening 25, engages on the trigger 18, the spring 8 being compressed to its maximum.

The depressing of the switch 37 causes the reverse rotation of the motor 13 and, consequently, the return stroke of the nut 11. The piston 6 remains blocked against the trigger 18 as long as the trigger 19 is not actuated.

During the return stroke, the switch 37 is released. Its action of reversing the direction of rotation of the motor 13 has been memorized.

La détente 19 est ou non actionnée durant la phase de retour de l'écrou 11.During their forward path, the pusher 28 tilts under the traction of the return spring 35 against the stop 34, thus allowing the return of the piston 6 during a possible firing. At this time, there are two possibilities. The trigger 19 is or is not actuated during the return phase of the nut 11.

If the trigger 19 is not actuated during the return phase of the nut 11, the pusher 28 always remains inclined until it comes into contact with the rod 38 which straightens it. The nut 11 finally actuates the switch 36, thus ending the return stroke. By actuating the trigger 19, the trigger 18 is lowered and the piston 6 is propelled forward under the action of the spring 8. The air is suddenly compressed and the shot goes away if the rifle is loaded and not "broken" . Otherwise we have a blank shot.

If, on the contrary, the trigger 19 is actuated during the return phase of the nut 11, the trigger 18 is lowered and releases the piston 6 while the pusher 28 continues its return stroke in the inclined position. The piston is propelled forward under the action of the spring 8 and the blow starts while the nut 11 continues its movement.

Le redressement du poussoir 28 s'effectue lorsqu'il rencontre la lumière 24.The pusher 28 comes into contact with the lever 38 which tends to straighten it, which is not possible since it comes to fight against the external wall of the piston 6-22 having no light or groove at this location. The push-button 28 is straightened when it meets the light 24.

The actuation of the switch 36 by the nut 11 causes the return stroke to be stopped.
