Description

The invention relates to a stapling device for a predetermined spacing on the holder V-shaped of these supplied folding products, in which a stapling head is arranged in front of the folding back of a folding product to be stapled and a staple closer can be inserted into the V-shaped opening at the stapling level.

From DE-PS 26 31 58 a stapling device of the type specified above is known. Here, the products to be stapled are horizontally fed to the stapling station consisting of stapling heads and counterholders or staple closers by means of rods fastened at a distance from one another on a circulating transport device which grip under the fold back of the fold products to be stapled. With this known stapling device, the folded products to be stapled can only be sewn one after the other, i.e. can be stapled individually. The same applies to the stapling device known from DE-AS 19 49 769, in which the products to be stapled are saddle-shaped, i.e. can be fed downwards to the stapling station. If several stapling stations were arranged one after the other, a bulky stapling machine would be created, the dimensions of which would no longer be acceptable, for example, if 30, 50 or more products were stapled at the same time.

In diesen zeigen:

  • Fig. 5 als vergrößerter Ausschnitt des Heftbereiches.
The object of the invention is to provide a stapling device of the generic type with which several products can be stapled simultaneously and in the smallest space. This object is achieved by applying the features of the characterizing part of patent claim 1. Further developments result from the subclaims and from the description in connection with the drawings. In these show:
  • 1 shows an accordion-like zigzag carrier structure as a transport and holding system for the stitching device according to the invention,
  • 2 and 3, the stitching device according to the invention in two views,
  • Fig. 4, the stitching device according to FIG. 2 in the working position and
  • Fig. 5 as an enlarged section of the stitching area.

In a particularly advantageous manner, an accordion-shaped or zigzag-shaped carrier structure, which consists of two halves 1, 1ʹ, is suitable in the stitching device according to the invention. In each of the halves 1, 1ʹ, V-shaped tongues 2 and 2ʹ are provided, the legs of which open when the support structure is pulled apart. Advantageously, the folded products 3 to be stapled are positioned in the halves 1, 1ʹ in a V-shape upwards, the tongues 2, 2ʹ engaging in them, so that when the halves 1, 1ziehen are pulled apart by opening tongues 2, 2ʹ also the Folded products 3 are opened. When pushed together, the carrier structure can be positioned in a memory 4 for space-saving storage of the folded products. Such support structures, their special training forms and their loading and unloading options with folded products or other printed copies are described in detail in the earlier patent applications P 36 21 832.4, P 36 21 822.7, P 36 21 820.0. The support structures or their halves 1, 1ʹ are arranged on rails 5 and slidable thereon. If the distance between the rails 5 is increased, the folded products 3 can be released, i.e. they fall down between the two halves 1, 1ʹ.

By means of, for example, a transport screw 18 arranged above the storage 4, which is shown and described in detail in the aforementioned unpublished patent applications, the carrier structures 1, 1ʹ stored in the pushed-together state are a transport device, preferably in the form of a clock chain 6 in the direction of the arrow fed. As can be seen in FIG. 4, a transport chain 6 or 6ʹ is preferably arranged on both sides of the carrier structures 1, 1ʹ, so that each of the individual parts of the carrier structure 1, 1ʹ can be moved on the rails 5 and 5ʹ. By means of the cycle chains 6, 6ʹ, the carrier structures 1, 1 Takt are completely pulled out of the memory 4 and opened in the process, so that the folding products 3 located therein also open in the form of a V open at the top. With their fold back, the fold products 3 to be stapled thus lie in the carrier structures 1, 1ʹ and are fed in this form to a stapling station 8 to 13 (FIG. 3). In this, a bar 10 is suspended from a bar 8 via a guide 9, which bar has a number of V-shaped brackets 11, on the lower tip of which a counterplate or a closer 12 is positioned. The distance between the stitch closers corresponds to the distance between the stitching heads 13 arranged one behind the other in the direction of arrow or transport 7. At this distance, the folding products 3 to be stitched are also supplied by appropriate formation of the timing chains 6, 6ʹ. When the folded products 3 to be stapled are in the position shown in FIG. 3, the bar 10 is lowered into the position 10ʹ, so that the holders 11 and the closers 12 assume the positions 11ʹ, 12ʹ. It is ensured by the advantageous V-shaped design of the brackets 11 that the folded products to be stapled 3 lay laterally on the support structures 1, 1ʹ, so that a secure stapling by moving the stitching heads 13 into the position 13ʹ while performing the stapling process is guaranteed. The stitching closers 12 are in the position 12ʹ in the stitching plane 19 below which a sheet 17 is arranged, on which the folded products 3 can be placed. The transport screw 18 mentioned is indicated above the store 4. As can be seen in particular in FIG. 3, it is essential that the folded products 3 to be stapled are fed with a transport direction 7 which thus runs transversely approximately at right angles to the central plane 20 of the V-shaped open folded products. It is within the scope of the invention Of course, it is also possible to feed the folded products 3 in reverse, ie with the opening facing downwards, in which case the position of the staple closers 12 and the stapling heads 13 would also have to be interchanged. In the aforementioned patent applications, such a possibility of feeding folded products is disclosed and described in detail. After stitching has been completed, the cycle chain 6, 6ʹ can be moved in the opposite direction, that is to say from right to left in FIG. 3, in order to release the carrier structures on correspondingly diverging rails 5 by correspondingly diverging the halves 1, 1,, so that they release into the transport device indicated in Fig. 3 can fall in the form of a ribbon cable 15. A next series of folding products to be stapled can then be taken over to the memory 4. 5, the staple 14 introduced in each stapling station 12, 13 is indicated, the position of the folded products 3 between the holders 11 and the carrier structures 1, 1ʹ also being apparent. The stapling plane up to which the staple closers 12 are retracted is denoted by 19 in FIG. 5. It goes without saying that, after the stapling has been carried out, the bar 10 must be raised again before the stapled folded products are fed to the cycle chains 6, 6 'against the direction of the arrow 7 of the transport device 15. Fig. 3 shows that the insertion of the staple closer 11 into the V-shaped open folding products 3 takes place in the central plane 20, which extends transversely to the transport direction 7 in an advantageous manner.

Von unten her werden dann die Heftköpfe 13 in die Position 13ʹ bewegt.4, the rails 5 are moved sideways in the direction of arrows 16, 16ʹ in the position 5ʹ, so that the tongues 2, 2ʹ come from the area of the folded products. From below, the stitching heads 13 are then moved into position 13ʹ.

The timing chains 6, 6ʹ are guided according to FIG. 3 around a deflection wheel, which is no longer designated, and they are driven via upper and lower arms 21, 22 and 21ʹ, 22ʹ, respectively. These arms 21, 22 are slidable on guides 23, 24 and 23ʹ, 24ʹ arranged and are moved by chains 25, 25ʹ for the supply of the folded products in the direction of arrow 7 or after the stapling process in the opposite direction to deliver the stapled folded products 3rd

With the stapling device according to the invention, a large number of folded products 3 can be stapled simultaneously in a small space. As studies have shown, up to 250 folded products can be stapled simultaneously, which requires a length of 15 meters for the stapling device. A medium expansion stage of 50 stapling stations 12, 13 lying next to one another is likely to be practical, for which a length of only 3 meters is required. In comparison to known stapling devices, for example in a multiple arrangement of the stapling device according to DE-AS 19 49 769, a length of at least 15 meters would already result with a simultaneous stapling of 50 folded products in DIN A4 format. This means that, in comparison, the stapling device according to the invention takes up only a fifth of the space compared to the space requirement of stapling devices constructed in a known manner.
